Really enjoyed our visit to the melting pot. I am not sure I like the interior of the restaurant though. It just doesn't fit the food or the service style, probably a space they just moved into.
Being our first time, Im glad we went with the four courses. The cheese course was a classic fondu experience. very filling. Next course was a salad - tasty but will skip next time around.
Main course - you pick the broth to share in the center and each guest picks different items to cook in it.
More Shabu-shabu than fondu, but just as fun!
We all tried different plates, lots of beef, chicken, shrimp, and pork. The vegetarian dish was also satisfying. We barely finished half the food though.
Final course is dessert....we ordered the dark chocolate fondu, it came with little bites of cookie, brownie, marshmallow, fruit, it was amazing! That - we somehow finished.
The entire experience took about 3 hours...perhaps a bit too long. Next time we will go for two courses and focus on the really fun stuff.
The service was excellent, we received a lot of guidance and they kept up with us for the entire evening.

I really enjoy the food at the melting pot and it's fun to do for a date night or with friends. However the service is just sooo slow. Tonight we had a reservation for four at 8 pm and got seated right away. It was busy but starting to clear out since it was late. We ordered drinks right away but got them after being there about a half hour. Our first course came out at 9pm and we had already finished our drinks. We finished all the courses by 1030. They do respect gluten free, as my husband is gluten free and they kept all thugs offered to us that way. Overall the food is good, just be prepared to wait.

The restaurant was very clean and spacious, and our waiter was polite and friendly. We were seated more than 6 feet away from other parties.
We ordered two fondues, one cheese and one chocolate. For two people, the fondues would be considered only a snack for us. For the Alpine cheese fondue, the cheese was very sharp and the other flavors were masked by the cheese. The Yin and Yang chocolate fondue was quite sweet but the presentation was very nice!

At first glance it seems like a little hole in the wall but once you walk inside the atmosphere is more elegant and intimate. I came here with a friend to celebrate my birthday. Wasn't too crowded which was good. It was our first time here so we were clueless when it came to the process of things haha. Kyle was our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful! He explained the ordeal in detail and made sure we were comfortable with everything and checked in often. We did the perfect fondue combo for two. SO MUCH FOOD. You wouldn't think because of the tiny plates but the cook it yourself method leaves room for digestion. Great place for dates, events etc. It was a fun and interactive dining experience, and YUMMY!

This place is an awesome spot to go and spend time w ppl.. groups or a date. The food is beyond delicious & the whole 'cook- it-yourself' vibe is an experience in itself.
*Definitely not made for a quick bite.. you can take as long as you want cooking your skewers to perfection or just dump em all in at once
* $$$ but worth the quality, ambience and presentation .. (lobster tail was MMff yum)
*Server was super helpful. Safety practices in place for covid, was a nice few hours out!!
* f*** a diet ..sickest desserts evr

This place is so overpriced. Food is bland and basic. Atmosphere is outdated. Waste of time and money.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our two year anniversary together here. Neither of us had tried fondue, so we figured to give this place a try.
We didn't have a reservation, but was seated promptly. Our server was Anthony, and explained the menu to us and how it worked in great detail. My boyfriend and I ordered a 4 course meal, cheese fondue, a salad, steak, and dessert.
I had gotten a glass of sunshine sangria which was delicious. We picked the quattro formaggio for our cheese, which had dried tomatoes as well as basil and a variety of different cheeses. It was yummy, but you do have to wait for the cheese to heat up. When it's hot, you have to keep stirring so the cheese does not burn. Anthony also mentioned that if we needed extra dippers, he would be happy to bring some. We did not need them after all.
The salad was alright. We both picked the California salad which was really sweet. It had a raspberry vinaigrette on it. However, our server brought us this garlic powder like seasoning that made the salad taste 20 times better. It was like magic.
Dinner was great too, we had a fun time dipping and cooking our steak in the cooking oil we picked, the coco vin. Dessert was even better; we had gotten an extra dipper platter for our banana fosters chocolate fondue. I also had a yingyang dessert drink. Everything we ate was fun and also yummy, all at the same time.
I was surprised that we were both full at the end of the meal. This meal put us into a food coma.
Service was spectacular. Anthony made us feel welcome, and was patient with explaining all the different parts of the meal. The only thing that I didn't like was that I felt rush by one of the bussers. I don't think we were overstaying our welcome as there were other empty tables, but I didn't appreciate it. Otherwise, everything else was excellent.

I came here on a Sunday because I had a coupon due to the one on Whippany closing but it could only be used on a Sunday. We made a reservation for afternoon, but it was pretty empty when we arrived and left. The bartender said it would be a moment for the hostess to return, but then the bartender was our waitress, so I got the feeling they keep the staff really light too.
The parking is free on Sundays and after 6 other days, which is a little annoying to bring your quarters for any other time. It seems like for the price for food, they should have their own lot. I guess they can't validate meters.
The service was good despite being understaffed. They have individual booths so it's not easy to flag down a server when you're alone in a corner. The brunch menu included 4 courses and a mimosa for a really reasonable price, so if I were to come back, I would come early because it's the same amount of food but more reasonably priced.
Basically you choose a cheese option (you get veggies and bread to dip and you can get as much of those as you'd like), for main course pick a cooking broth and the 4 meats (they have a good seasoning mix to accompany but we had to request it), and then pick a chocolate course (which comes with marshmallows, fruits, brownies, etc. for dipping and you can get extras for free). It ends up being a pretty filling meal, but it takes some time to get through each course. It's more about an experience than something to get through quickly.
I would recommend signing up for their emails, as sometimes they send coupons or specials they have. It's a little pricey and not something I would do often, but it is fun to try and the courses always come out great.

What a disappointment.....
Reservations where made a week in advanced. An additional request was made in which came with a fee. This charge was for "Happy Birthday" balloons and pink balloons. As we sat at our table there was a "Celebrate" balloon and a variety of different color balloons. I'm assuming regardless of what you ask for and pay extra for you get what they please to give you?
As we settled and waited for our drinks I noticed a bug crawling all around the burner. Our kids quickly panicked and asked for us to get it out. Since there was no napkins we had to wait and when the waiter came, he was quick to kill and remove it. As my husband requested for the bugs residue to be cleaned the manager came over to apologize.
Our first appetizer was finally out. As the attempt was made to turn the burner on it wouldn't turn on. We were then moved to the next table.
Finally settled at a cleaner table with a working burner the fondue experience was now beginning. The dipping in cheese was excellent! The variety of bread and apples in cheese tasted delicious. Moving along I had the filet mignon, chicken and Cajun shrimps. All of which tasted a bit bland, not much flavor. Maybe it was the broth chosen to cook it in? Time for dessert. We opted for dark chocolate and I'm so glad we did. Everything on the dessert platter was delicious!
At this point the restaurant was beginning to get packed. Our waiter had not returned in a while. We had to ask the gentleman collecting plates to please bring us napkins as no one brought us napkins aside from the cloth napkins since we sat down. The table across from us was getting set for what seemed to be a party. And guess what? They got a "Happy Birthday" balloon with pink balloons. I did express this to the manager. She apologized and assured that the next celebration will have the correct balloons requested. As the manger returns with the bill she includes a $10 gift card (with limitations); must purchase a 4-course meal. This 4-course meal plus 2 kids meals cost us about $250. The yelp offer had to be brought to the managers attention regardless of the fact that it was mentioned to the waiter upon sitting.
Our dinner took a total of 3 hours; therefore, I wouldn't recommend this for families. Definitely not recommended for large parties since they couldn't accommodate a party of 4 (2 adults 2 kids). Special events where additional fees are charged is not worth it. Definitely bring your own napkins or even wipes.

WOW ! What a great place to enjoy a moment with someone you love or maybe even a first date!! The staff was so nice and sweet the food was SO GOOD!! It was an incredible experience especially if you love to try new things and everything was so easy to do. Also they allow you to pick which experience you want ! We had a wonderful time, & will definitely be revisiting the melting pot soon!
