The Melting Pot

Food is great. Good service. It's definitely an experience. Plan on being there awhile and come hungry. They break down each coarse which was perfect. Overall we enjoyed it

The Melting Pot is a different type of place to try out if you're looking for something different! I've been visiting here for years and was surprised I didn't already have a review out in the Yelp world!

This experience can get a little pricey, but it's definitely worth the unique experience if you haven't tried before. The whole experience can take anywhere from 2-3 hours for a visit at The Melting Pot! I recommend if you're watching the bank to check it out on Wednesdays for their BFF nights! You get a 3 course meal for $29.95 per person, which is a lot cheaper than the regular menu.

We enjoyed our recent visit at this location. We booked a reservation ahead of time (better safe than sorry) and were seated promptly once we arrived. Our waitress greeted us, explained the process, and got our drinks. From the time we sat to the time our experience finished, it was about 3 hours.

Overall I enjoyed the experience. Wait staff were hustling to get people their orders given it was a very busy evening! I highly recommend :)

We have eaten here many times before (including twice since Covid so this is not in comparison to regular times). We normally LOVE this restaurant but today was a different story.

Our server was just terrible. We had to repeat our order MANY times. She finally got it correct and confirmed...only for every course to need to be confirmed again as they came out. She would say "You ordered X, right?" No, we ordered Y. "Oh...well, they have the same base so I can fix that." At one point the brought out the complete wrong thing (cooking style for the meat) and had to change it while we waited.

We also told/reminded her THREE times that I had a specific fruit allergy and she still brought that fruit out at dessert, touching many of the other items. She then acted like it was still ok to eat the stuff touching that...a huge no-no with food allergies.

She rarely checked on us when we actually needed it and we had VERY long wait times between courses, especially with her having to change or fix every one to be the correct item. We were there a total of 2.5hrs with only 3 courses. She would come by after a long while and ask multiple times if we were ready for the next course...long after we had completely finished the last one and after she had already cleaned it up. She would say she would come clean it up and then come back forgetting she hadn't, then bring an empty try and walk off to get a second empty tray forgetting the first one...it was just strange.

She completely forgot to refill my husband's soda after being asked several times. He finally got a refill about 45 mins after being empty. Meanwhile she tried to give me a cocktail meant for the next table over.

Kinda ruined what should have been a really nice anniversary dinner. We were very frustrated.

Anytime I am somewhere that has a melting pot, I have to go. So naturally, I was in San Antonio for work and came here with a friend. My go to's since I was in High School are the Coq Au Vin, with land and sea, Caesar salad, Wisconsin cheddar and the flaming turtle. I now change the milk chocolate to dark chocolate when I get the flaming turtle. Our service was great. Food was great. It's always a great social experience.

First time here, wasn't aware I had to cook my own food lol. Drinks are really good, hands down to the bartender. Such a fun experience only thing I thought was weird was there seemed to be no other option besides the 4 course meal. Which ended up being almost a $200 tab for 2 people and 3 drinks. Granted we did choose surf and turf so we expected it cost a little more.  Checking in at yelp gave us a complimentary glass of wine which was a fun surprise.

I've been craving Melting Pot for the longest time. The last time I went was almost 10 years ago in Austin! I finally got to go the other night for an overdue dessert date night.

Pros
- Offer a good selection of savory and sweet fondue options! They have cheese, chocolate and entree fondues!
- Flaming turtle fondue was so yummy! They had a good amount of chocolate in it for all the treats to be dipped in

Cons
- When I walked in I felt like I was suffocating from all the different smells. It felt cramped inside and not very inviting
- The utensils and fondue pot used seemed very worn and old
- They were very busy making our experience seem very rushed. The waiter seemed like he was just wanting us to hurry up and eat and get out. He even brought us the check without us asking for it...

Overall I felt like the entire experience felt very rushed and cheap. Sad to say that it was very different from what I remember back in the old days!

Took my fiancé out for our 9 year dating anniversary and this was our first time at The Melting Pot! Even on a busy Saturday night the staff made us all feel special and appreciated! Don't personally recommend the fiesta cheese  but that's our fault for not going with the server's recommendation. The entre (surf and turf) and desert (turtle chocolate) was ridiculously delicious!!! Reserve online and notify them of any special occasion! Recommend the Melting Pot Mule!

I've lived in San Antonio my whole life and had never been here until last week! It was definitely an experience. Be prepared to be there at least 2 hours, unless you're just going for cheese fondue & drinks or something. I was really into it because it was my first time and it was good, but I'm not sure if I'd come back too often. The experience is definitely cool!

We started with the cheese fondue. You choose your type of cheese and they bring you bread and veggies to dip in it. Naturally, I got full off of that because I have no self control when it comes to cheese. Then the salads. So good! All of them. Then the meats. You choose your cooking style/seasonings and meat selections. We got surf and turf, steak option and I forgot the other one but all of them were good! The waitstaff tells you how long to cook your meat and what to do and such. It's neat! I definitely loved all the sauces they bring you and cooking the meats and vegetables. It was fun!

My wife and I love to come here when we visit San Antonio!! The atmosphere is romantic and the service is always great!! All of the food is amazing and fun to prepare!!
