The Melting Pot - Richmond

If you haven't been here or had fondue it's a very unique experience. We had 4 people and we did all the courses. Everything was very good including the salads. The meat itself is great quality (which is especially easy to see when served raw for you to cook).

If we went back we would just want to do cheese and chocolate. I think the time and effort to cook the meat was not something we feel the need to do again.

We got the Alpine Cheese which everyone enjoyed- I am the only one who noticed there was one specific cheese in it that would make me order something different next time.

Everyone ordered the Meat Lover's meal and, as I said before, the meat was great quality. We had to ask for several portions of the veggies because there was basically one mushroom, potato, and piece of broccoli for each person.

The chocolate order was Dark and Dolce- truly delicious.

If you want to try more than just one cheese/broth/chocolate make sure to go with 5 or more people because there is only one burner on tables for 4 or less. We didn't realize this until we were there and we're disappointed.

We came in at about 6 pm on a weekday. It was our first time with this experience. Overall we had a great time. It was a very different and neat experience. Our waitress was seemed as though she was overwhelmed but was still friendly and helpful. If this is your first time, be prepared for how long dinner takes. We were there over 2 hours. We had underestimated how long it takes to cook all of the items at the table in the pots. There were many options available which was also great. The experience is also extremely expensive. We would return in the future for a special occasion.

My family & I visit this Melting Pot at least once a year, for the last 10 years. Seen the menu go through many changes & how the food is served.
The BEST change they ever made was PRE-MELTING the fondues (cheese and choc) before bringing it to the tables' hot plates. It does take away the charm of melting cheese and beer, but it turns your previous 3 hour dinner, into 2.
The menu has recently been revamped (after Feb 2020), and its much easier to read. The restaurant lighting is low and cozy, which makes it harder to read the menu, but the increased font size, does help quite a bit.
This restaurant also is very GLUTEN FREE-FRIENDLY. A must when you have a mix of GF and non-GF diners.
You can book reservations online very easily, and I highly suggest on weekends, especially with the decreased capacity.

Lastly, the Melting Pot can accommodate a large range of parties. From 1 to a party of ~12. We love this restaurant & will continue to go on special occasions

So embarrassed for this entire establishment. It's literally LOL. The managers are terrified of their employees, the employees know it and use it to their advantage. Given the current line up, I don't see this place sticking around. Ironically I think the people who live in this area think this place is "fancy" and "fine dining." Omg dying. (I won't even bother reviewing the food... LOL)

I've heard about  this place for years  before finally going! It's definitely an experience and perfect for date night.  It's fondue style so your dipping everything.  The options were good. I only give it 4 stars because you have to do all the work lol. I was ready to eat.

I just had my first dining experience here and had a great time and meal.  Our server was fantastic and very friendly.  We were able to meet the owner and she was very accommodating, professional and made certain we had a great experience.  I'll definitely come back to try more food.

My girlfriend and I decided to go here for our monthly date night and it was a great experience. I've been to few Melting Pots in the north east, but this was my first experience in VA and it was definitely a night to remember.
We went with the fiesta cheese, steak lovers with coq au vin as our broth and ended it with the ying & yang for dessert. It was my girlfriend's first time trying this chain out and she really enjoyed it. The staff were professional, food was delicious, but don't forget to make reservations.
Everyone is separated by their own booths so don't worry too much about COVID considerations, especially since everyone has to wear a mask if they aren't seated. The facilities were clean and ample amounts of parking.
If you're a Yelp member don't forget to check it. As you can see from the photos, you get a box of strawberries dipped in chocolate as part of your perk.
Totally recommend this place for a night out. Remember though, you will be spending a good amount. I believe with a 20% tip, I paid around $130 for 2 people. Definitely worth the experience, hope you all enjoy!

If you can't get a table here, then maybe just head over to Applebee's or some kind of public cafeteria. You'll probably do much better. It's kind of filthy inside, yet they're clearly operating under the impression that it's some kind of fine dining. It's a joke. I saw a large partition wall coming off it's track and about to fall. Surfaces look greasy and I stepped on a large sticky area over the floor. Gross. Kind of felt like I walked into the basement of an old warehouse building where they just boil grease all day. The staff really match the atmosphere too. Their attitude is on a whole other level. Our server just made us feel like we were a huge inconvenience for her. That was when she was rarely at our table anyway. The place needs to just issue standard uniform shirts too because I'm pretty sure our waiter was wearing her pajamas that day. Unfortunately the management probably care about their staff like they care about the restaurant; very little.

The food was good, and the service was attentive. We tried the "big night out," which includes four courses. It was much more food than we could finish, and we ended up taking some home. Overall I enjoyed the interactive nature of preparing the food at the table and the private orientation for each table.

I just have to say what a wonderful dinner my daughter's and I had. It started with the hostess Kasiah she was super friendly and had a great personality!! Then our server Yasmine she is top notch , my youngest daughter  has Celiac Disease and Yasmine was extremely helpful as we navigated  through the menu. We never had to look for her, we always had refills!! Her personality is All  Star You can tell she likes her job... She will be who we request when we return.
