The Melting Pot

Father's Day was different for us this year. We asked My hubby to pick a place to eat. He loves the Melting Pot. It was the place of our first date.

This meal was amazing. Kids had a great time. Staff was amazing. No issues. We ate it all!!  I do t think we are for days afterwards!  We will be back!

We came here to celebrate my birthday. We would have appreciated being seated on time or at least a word of apology. Also, there are no seats for people who have booked in advance and are waiting to dine there.
The appetizer we went with was the Quadro Formaggio option, which was flavorful. But what's even better is the dessert! We went with the dark and white chocolate amalgamation of the Yin and Yang option, and we couldn't get enough of it! The entrée was ok. We also did all vegetarian options, and it was just fine.
All in all, I'm not too sure the food, reception, and ambiance justify the steep price. But our waiter Cantrell M was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating.

Went here for devour with several friends and have mixed feelings.
First of, getting a reservation was tough...had to call 6 times within an hour for someone to answer the phone. We did the devour menu. Tip - start dinner early...the whole dinner took us 3 hours!

We started with the Wisconsin cheddar and Alpine for our cheese fondue- If you had to pick one, Wisconsin cheddar is definitely the winner, so smooth! And make sure to keep your left over bread for the entree portion, it's so good in the sauces!

For the entree, I got the pacific rim (duck, sirloin, shrimp). My friends got the Cajun style and the land and sea and recalled enjoyed the Cajun style!  We had the coq au vin and mojo cooking styles...mojo was a crowd favorite. Portion sizes were a bit small and the sauces that came with were underwhelming.


After we finished our entrees, it took about 40 minutes till our server came back with our dessert.  We got the dark chocolate and white chocolate along with the turtle..and it was really good with the pound cake!

Overall, the food was mediocre and decor is a bit outdated- however the fondue experience is always fun and something different to try.

The only reason i'm giving this a 4/5 not a 5/5 was the slow service. Let me be clear the dinner wasn't awful by any means, just not fast . My experiences at the melting pot have always been so effortless as they should be for their prices. The staff was severely short staffed already and they had two employees not able to come in so they had their hands FULL. I mean, I totally get it, however we waited a solid 45 minutes between getting our broth (mojo) to actually getting our meats. I finally decided to ask when the broth started dissolving because it had just cooked with nothing for so long. Also, the one manager (they usually have 3) working that night was so overworked was the absolute sweetest and she kept apologizing. I absolute applaud her for managing such a hectic night. The food was to die for per usual. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Ummm I am so confused why The Melting Pot doesn't have a higher overall rating. THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!! My partner and I are sure to come every single time Devour Indy is happening. It's so good but not only that, it's a whole experience coming here! I love that when I come I know I am going to be there for awhile, getting to chat and enjoy my company and eating 4 delicious courses. And I always leave feeling painfully full. I really can't say enough good things.

Is this thing on?

I give this spot a 4 out of 5 and let me explain why: the food is always great but it always takes so long! A group of 4 of us went for the Wednesday night special and it took 3 hours. I know that places are short staffed but every time we have been there it has taken at least 3 hours. It's just confusing because it's literally chopped up things that we dip. Not a ton of prep work and we literally cook our own food. Again the food is always good but it take a ton of time. So if you do want to go please do but know that it will likely be at least 3 hours!  Also always ask for extra sauces to dip because they are all amazing to dip your meats in!

Came here in a Thursday evening as a company function!

First off, I hate to say it but the place has a distinct "smell". Not sure if it was from a neighboring business, an old building or sewer issues but it smelled, "musty and stale"  
A little costly but that is expected for the experience!

Pro:
Food ooh la la the food!
We had the full gamut, cheese fondue, meat and veggies and the desserts. My favorites were the cheese and the dessert fondues! The meat entrees were just ok! We also had wine pairing which was great!

Staff: they were very friendly and attentive

I will definitely be back! I want to try the Ying Yang Martini

Awful service and I'm unsure why because there were empty tables all around us. We chose the flattop grill but everything ended up charred because they do not provide any oil. Don't go unless you're wanting to spend at least 2.5 hours there. Most of our dining experience was just waiting around for our next "course"...What a waste of $150.

This restaurant  I  have eaten at more than a dozen times.  
Our service  was the worst I have ever had in many years.
My daughter and Boy friend waited 20 mins for water. After we asked for service twice.
Our cheese fondue was horrible.  I addressed with the bartender  as she was the only one available.
Took our  fondue forks and did not replace them. Turned off our fondue  pots and our  food has to wait another 15 minutes to be cooked. I plan on referring everyone  to my experience.  Disappointed at a whole new level.
Honestly  did not  want to finish my meal
But my daughter  just got engaged   and I'm staying  for  her and   my New in-laws.
Do not eat here  until  new management  and training.

As a single mom I can only go out to eat a few times a year. It's a big deal for me and a treat.
This is a case of lies of omission....
I went there on a Sunday recently during Devour, and never knew that we were there during  "Devour" time until the end when the owner came by and spoke to us.
Even after being unable to download the menu on my phone and asking for an actual menu, we were never given the devour menu option, and weren't told about it at all until we had already eaten and finished.
We were charged more for our food choices, which were exactly the same as those in the devour menu, and had ordered much less than the Devour offered.

I feel like we've been taken advantage of, and I
called the Meting Pot to discuss it.
I spoke to Bennett, who I guess is the owner, and he
basically offered no apologies and told us in his own words that he really just didn't care.
There are no "coupons" for Devour so it was simply a matter of being kept in the dark and charged more.
Like hiding the sale price!

That sure seems dishonest. We had enjoyed going there for years but after that treatment, none of us will be going back.
