I am grateful to April Webster at Meadows Assisted Living because she was so honest and helpful with me. My dad just passed away and my mom would like to be in a more social setting and also needs support. I found April to be responsible and supportive as I find just the right place for my mom. Thank you so much.

Beautiful facility, HORRIBLE communication and lack of follow up on their part. I have called for over 2 weeks trying to reach out to the skilled nursing facility admin person Jessica.
My mom is a 54 yr old woman who has been resilient wanting to accept some monitoring and assistance for her condition. She finally has agreed if she was going to get help she would like to go to meadows due to the activities, cleanliness, and Amenities that are there.
I have called 8 times, left 4 voicemails, have had family members try to reach out on my behalf. The hospitals have sent 2 referrals, and they have denied my mom twice with NO explanation. I have tried several times try to discuss that my family would pay out of pocket for her to go here, talk about options. Try to get the reason she was denied...and 3 weeks later, not ONE response. If you are in the field of advocating and getting patients the best help possible you would think that you could at least get a phone call back from this place. They need a new administration person who can manage phone calls to families and future patients. Such a disappointment.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - David D.Palm Desert, CA33168412145Mar 1, 2020
This is such a wonderful place. I would go take classes here from time to time and really enjoyed the peaceful grounds. Very friendly people here. The dining room served great food too
I oftentimes just visited the grounds with my father just to drink coffee in the grand room. Christmas time was a special time too because they had a huge tree decorated to the max and a cute little train going around the tree. They even have a beauty salon!
They have a lot excursions for the residents to choose from. The also have a library and a very good activity group that always as fun things to do. Go visit.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Lynne H.Napa, CA02Apr 20, 2023
The amount of neglect is deplorable at this facility. My mom entered The Meadows of Napa Valley for the sole purpose of rehabilitation after hip replacement surgery. In her 13 days there they kept her in bed flat on her back or in a wheelchair, continued to give her Tylenol with codeine against the surgeon, and my wishes, she was showered one time, they put her in Depends, even though she's completely continent, rarely changed her clothes. I complained about her treatment repeatedly and got nowhere. They made getting my mom out of the facility difficult. I requested numerous times to have Dr. Singer who overseas the facility to contact me and he never did. He was supposed to be the doctor in charge of my mother while there being "rehabilitated". If I was not there to advocate for my mom, I believe she would still be stuck in this facility. I've learned the two weeks of limited physical therapy has affected my mom's current rehabilitation progress to get her back to walking normally. Beware. These facilities are trusted to take care of our loved ones and The Meadows of Napa Valley completely failed my mom.

My mother was a resident of the Meadows. Their lack of concern and care for the elderly is very evident. They lack compassion and instead prefer to act like wardens in a prison.
They are completely incompetent and the left arm often times does not know what the right arm is doing. You cannot count on them to reliably handle regular situations. I cannot stress enough how incompetent they are and even borderline cruel. Very poorly run place...do not send your loved one there!
My mother had to leave her apartment and go to Skilled Nursing. While there, they took off her jewelry. Never did we receive a phone call asking us to come get it..we assumed they would put it in safe keeping. We discovered when she left there that a diamond pendant was missing from the heavy gold choker around her neck. It would have been impossible for it to fall off without the necklace being removed from her neck. Her ring and wallet were removed and put away, and the gold choker still around her neck.
When we picked her up to move her, the pendant was missing and I have a photo of it being on her neck while in skilled nursing. Her companion of many yrs. saw it on her neck also while there. It was removed and now they are not willing to do anything about it even though they called me to tell me that they want it to be right. They are liars and I wouldn't recommend you trust them with the lives of your family! Be careful...Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Becca W.Napa, CA40525Jun 11, 2018
UPDATE: The owner thought it was appropriate to write me back saying there was a note left on my car when there was not. He also said that there are red signs saying "private property no parking" Which I made very clear in my first review, there are no signs saying Meadows residents only, so it is very easy to get confused! While I semi appreciate the reply, it still doesn't resolve the hundreds of dollars I paid for this company not having proper signage. GET SOME PROPER SIGNAGE IF YOURE GOING TO KEEP TOWING PEOPLES CARS.
Towed without warning after I've been parking in the same spot for over 9 months. They also only have private property towing signs, no signs that say that parking there is for Meadows residents only. It was easily confused for private parking for the apartments across the street. A warning or note would be much better than making me worry someone stole my car, then paying over $400 for a simple mistake and missing work on top of it all. Shows how disrespectful this place and some of it's employees are according to other reviews on this page.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Becca, our parking is set aside for residents of The Meadows, their guests and family members, our employees, visiting medical staff, and other guests of this community. That's why the lot on our property where you've been parking is semi-enclosed with red "no public parking" signs prominently displayed. A notice was placed on your windshield requesting that the vehicle be moved. I encourage you to check with your property manager on where you and your fellow tenants are permitted to park.

Just a thought, with the recent corona crisis we have been told we cannot visit any relatives here due to risk of infection. How ironic that a general contractor, RCP is on site with multiple sub contractors working in the building and outside, however I cannot be on site to see a relative, seems like a case of gross negligence on your part allowing so many people on site during this crisis. Next call is to the media, hope you enjoy the new found coverage and attention.

We visited a distant relative recently. He's lost a ton of weight since being there in a short time and hasn't had a hair cut or been shaved. He didn't get lunch on the day we visited and when we brought it up, they said the kitchen was closed. They did eventually bring him a cold sandwich and cold French fries.

Dear management yes you Wane Panchenson, Barbara Hudson, current DON of CC. You know who I am and you know I'm writing thing this because I care or at least I used to care. I do not know what you guys have against me and you are not allowing me to visit some of the resident that i get to know. I worked there for 5 years and you guys do this to me. I know I'm not the most best employee but I my best and you know it. Yes we get paid on the work that we did whether we got bonus, but the effort and sacrifice that we did is something you can't pay for. If I knew that this is the way you will treat me as an ex employee I shouldn't help on that one night that no CNA staff that showed up. Even managers can't even answer their phone to help out your staff.
I hope you guys don't treat any ex employee that you guys terminated even you knew ain't going do nothing to harm or make disturbance to the patients. YOU HAVE NO EMATHY, CARE OR ANY REMORSE TO YOUR EMPLOYEE. You show that you care only when you need something from us. #2faces #noappriciation #TEAM only for money not for care. Yes your facility is nice but the way you run it is 1 star. No I'm not writing this because I got fired. I'm writing this because the way you treated me as if I'm a criminal. THINK TWICE IF YOUR TRYING TO GET ON THIER "TIAM" yes there's an I on team when it comes to them. Special if it doesn't go on there favor. All I ask is to let me say good bye to those residents that I care while I was there for 5 years, that's all and you guys wouldn't even let me do that.
When I last visited there everyone (residents family and staff) says hi and hugs me and wondering where I have been but the DON and administrators is hurry to kick me out afraid that I will cause catastrophe. Now you guys give me letter saying my family and I can't go to the meadows "PREMISES". Well all I can say KARMA IS A BITCH. and it will hunt you. I don't care if u will BLOCK LISTED ME. Like I said I don't want to work for someone who doesn't want me. BEST OF LUCK to y'all!!!
Ps if you guys don't believe that I was a decent employee ask any staff or resident or family that live there for since 2013 to now. They can tell you
Thank you for reading it. Best wishesHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - napa s.Napa, CA010Jul 17, 2017Updated review
This is an update. My Resident has since passed on. However, it has taken me years to get over my ANGER at how they treated us.
We got a call that before the next change of shift:
- my Resident would have to be moved to Skilled Nursing;
- OR we hire a private 24 hour care giver;
- OR go home.
But whatever our plan, she needed to leave in a matter of hours. That very day! **End of discussion**
My Resident was dying. Money was no object. We did not want to move her unnecessarily. We only wanted peace, quiet, but most importantly, DIGNITY. So the whole family worked the phones, called hospice and found a round-the-clock-caregiver. In a few days, our loved one was dead.
A word to the wise: Talk about how the Meadows will treat you when you are dying. Be sure you are accorded some respect and dignity at the end. If you do not have somebody who can find an instant solution when they kick you out, this is not the place to be.
My dog got more compassionate care. Shocking and SAD.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Ms. S, We can't figure out who your mother is based on this information. As we requested after your initial comment, please contact us directly so we can address your concerns quickly. With regards, Wayne Panchesson, Executive Director of The Meadows
Mar 16, 2013Previous reviewMary L: Are you a referral agency? Do you actually have a relative living at the Meadows, and do you personally pay the bills and look after your Resident? If not, as an invitee to their elegant soirees with free food, wine and door prizes, you are not qualified to write a glowing review. I would rate them $$$$$, which is fine if 5-star service is provided.
Consider this:
* No TV hookup after 6 months even though we pay for Comcast connections. Their "specialist" claims he is an expert, and the problem is that our TV is "old". I got a box from Comcast, called the Comcast tech, and our TV was hooked up in 24 hours. (Hey, I am no expert!)
* No laundry detergent provided. I asked twice, and now I just do the laundry to avoid asking any more. I have heard senior staff refer to some residents as "a pain in the a**". Who wants to be in that ilk?
* Gasket in the Washing Machine was black with mold. I tried to wipe this off, but it is solid mold. They cleaned it, but it is getting black again. Seems like the gasket/machine needs to be replaced. Last time I looked, there was a pencil stub in the gasket. They wash floor mops there too. YUCK! Best to take the laundry home and not deal with the staff.
* I found an old package of diabetic test strips in the nest of wires under the table. This is an indication that the area has not been vacuumed since my Resident moved in --- 9 mos now!
* I could say more, but that would identify my Resident, and I do not want to be black listed.
The bottom line is you need to be there constantly to ensure that your Resident is treated right. If not, just do it yourself to avoid making too many requests. Old people like stability and routine. They cannot be moved easily, and you do not want to complain too much.
