The Local Tavern

I don't know why/how people give this mediocre reviews (perhaps y'all are picky mofos), because this is an EASY 5 star review.

We came here for the first time last night (MA just reopened post-pandemic) and their staff was BOMB - super nice, fast, efficient, helpful, everything that is good!!

Prices are very standard:
-pizzas are under $20 and are YUM!!
(We ordered the Genovese and Flying Dragon. HIGLY RECOMMEND!)
-we also got wings ($11?) THEY MAKE THEIR OWN RANCH AND BLUE CHEESE AND ARE SO GOOOOOD!!!

-got some beers and cocktails as well, all very good.

Our bill was $72 for 5 drinks, 2 pizzas, and wings. NOT BAD AT ALL!!

Also it's a cool little tavern/bar right off Main Street so an added bonus.

AWESOME FIRET EXPERIENCE

This place isn't really my cup of tea. We visited on a friday night and were sat at the bar as tables were filled. I think I would best describe the Local Tavern as a glorified Applebee's. I thought their food was't anything exceptional. The appetizers were odd, a sausage filled quesadilla and "sticky asian" boneless wings. Not to mention the sauce that was served on the side with the asian wings was ranch. I don't know if that was just the generic sauce they always put on the side, but it was not a pleasant combination. I thought the salad was delicious.
The whole time we were there, two couples were having a shouting match. One couple was clearly intoxicated and the wife and husband kept bickering about wanting more alcohol. I CANNOT believe the staff continued to serve them. Nonetheless, we just had appetizers and left.

Visited on a Friday night - staff was friendly and attentive. There was no wait for our party of three and we were seated at a table, which had more than adequate distancing from any other table (if you're worried about emerging in post-COVID times). Our waitress was stellar, giving us great recommendations.

The house-made ranch that came with our Buffalo wings was stellar. We ordered the Genovese and Flying Dragon pizzas, both awesome- we'd highly recommend the Flying Dragon if you're looking for that sweet/salty/tangy combo. Overall, great food and great atmosphere. Quirky menu ingredients gave us hangover pub vibes. We will definitely be returning

Great local spot. Beer list is awesome. Bartenders are top notch!

The haddock was on point and the beer was ice cold!

Good food, However when it was Flip Flops they used to have this appetizer call "The Goat". It was so yummy and now that it has changed hands its gone from the menu! When I asked the waitress she just said yeah we changed the menu.
I so hope if someone from this place reads this that they consider bringing it back

The Local is our go to for dinner. Specials on the menu are innovative and delicious. we have friends who travel from Connecticut for Friday's fish and chips, that's a compliment in itself. The staff is friendly and attentive.
Definitely a place to check out if you haven't yet!

The Flying Dragon pizza is amazing! The Brussel spouts were delicious too.
Best martini's in town and the service was exceptional.
I was in on Thursday and Mallory was our waitress and she was really great, so friendly and knowledgeable.
I like the area with the pool table and dart board, great addition.

Love this place service is great and just a fun place to eat and hangout. Have always enjoyed the food especially the pizza

We had enjoyed this spot as "Flip Flops." Now as The Local Tavern, on the five occasions we've visited, the service is great but the food is unpredictable. As in, either very good or awful. ‍

I love the new menu options (November 2019), and the weekday specials! Tuesday night we had the BBQ platter, it came with ribs, chicken, pulled pork, fries and cornbread! Delicious! and we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day! They have a HUGE smoker, and have the best smoked dishes. Try the mac and cheese with one of the smoked meats....OMG!
Wednesday night they have Italian Favorites, all reasonably priced.
Thursday night is "Asian Reimaginations"....I can't wait to try one of these dishes! and of course they have Friday and Saturday Chef Specials.
I've had wonderful salads, very creative.
The bar staff is top notch, the food and the pizza is always great, and the atmosphere is rustic and laid back.

I highly recommend The Local Tavern!
