The Local Place To be

Since kenz got a job at jiminy and we are her limo service we started looking around for places nearby and delightfully stumbled on this little gem. The Local is very inviting ~ from the lovely counter running the front windows, the comfy booths, the cozy chairs in the middle of the room to the back children's play area ~ it is all wonderful.

The owner is fantastic and willing to do anything for you even if it is not on the menu, just ask. He will probably ask you to put it down in his suggestion book as well. Our omelettes were tasty and the mimosas yummy.

We will be back again soon.

Great breakfast menu of omelettes, pancakes, and breakfast sandwiches-the Bella with peppers on Ciabatta is a treat. A great collection of art and a warm and inviting atmosphere assure my return, maybe to try lunch or a dinner special...

The Local is a really cool place. It's quite large, has a great vibe, and some tasty snacks.
  It's still a new place so I suppose things will pick up but I was kind of surprised not to see more people there.
  It feels almost as if someone put a kitchen in their home basement. But the basement is above ground and has a lot of seats and tables. The children's play area has toys scattered around. Newspapers invite readers to sit and have a snack.
  The best part of this place is the owner, a very kind man who is genuinely interested in your having a good time. Talk with him! Ask him what's good!

This is a really nice place, high ceilings, lots of wood...TONS of natural light...the breakfast food: fantastic.  the omelets were exquisite, the ingredients quality, the coffee delicious (one free refill), the service outstanding (the owner was SO attentive), the eggs bene...out...of...this...world...and I'm an eggs bene afficionado (the hollandaise was light and creamy and just sublime...the eggs poached to perfection).

got kids? there's a play area w toys in the back (separated by a low wall)..my kids 9 and 6 years old were entertained...for 1hr solid...as in, we didn't hear a peep.

Very good breakfast, exceeded my expectations. Ordered a custom made breakfast sandwich and my brother had an omellette. They didn't charge me for an extra egg I asked for as the whole thing was reasonably priced. I would rate this place above most breakfasts shops near my work in manhattan.

What a great spot! Amazing fresh salads, a relaxed atmosphere, free wifi, and a super friendly owner. We had a delicious lunch here and will definitely be back.

It was a very welcoming environment with quick service not to mention great food.  On a nice cold day a bowl of soup was a great way to warm up and have a filling lunch, which was very reasonably priced for the quality of food.  The owner was so friendly and helpful as well, and went out of his way to make sure we were happy.  Their hot coffee drinks are amazing as well, me and my girlfriend got an espresso and a chai latte.  They were both great.  I really enjoyed this place and will be a returning customer.
