Very accommodating staff that follow COVID protocol. It's hard for businesses right now and they're trying their best to provide a good experience for their customers. My niece was in town and we needed a good outdoor social distanced option to catch-up. Lots of outdoor space and many restaurants on the same block. We bought Papa John's and Poke to eat on the patio. Margarita's were great too.

This is the perfect spot for a drink in the sun! You can also bring food in from anywhere. Great vibe, lovely garden with sun and good people. Bar team are top notch.

This was my first time coming to The Lister after having been into Park 77 a few times many many years ago. I stopped in for a quick happy hour beer with my wife and I was a bit underwhelmed. I know it'a hard to judge a bar based on what is happening at 5pm on a Thursday, but I've been to a bunch of other local spots under the same circumstances and had a much better time.

      The pros:
      - The bar was clean. I know that should be a given, but it often never is, but things all seemed in pretty good repair overall
      - Decent selection of beers on tap
      - Drinks were fairly priced

      The cons:
      - I ordered two St Archer Hazy IPAs, and the keg kicked almost immediately, but rather than check in with me about options, the bartender just started pouring Sierra Nevada's Hazy Little Thing instead, and when he handed me the first pint, he then said "you wanted a hazy, so I think this should be okay." Not awful, but not a great service experience.
      - There was no music or anything, which wouldn't have been so bad but.....
      - there was a group of regulars playing cornhole, and one guy had a constant stream of really uncalled for profanity, laced with some homophobia, that hardly stopped for the half hour we were there. I'm not one to clutch my pearls at language, and I've definitely dropped some f-bombs in a competitive bar game, but it was excessive and frankly made the whole experience a little uncomfortable, especially when it was the ONLY sound in the bar and patio.

It's a shame because as a local, it's great to have options for nearby bars, but I guess I'll have to wait another 7 or 8 years to give it another shot.

Service is pretty terrible, the bartenders are rude and unresponsive. Takes like 10 minutes to get a drink order in. The bar is spacious and the atmosphere is nice since it's right next to the university but the just based on the service I couldn't recommend going here.

Came here for Paint Nite over the weekend. Though I wasn't here technically for the bar or even during normal business hours, the crowd present was quite loud and rambunctious, shouting profanities every now and then when the play that the football team they were rooting for didn't pan out the way it was supposed to or whenever the opposing team scored touchdowns.

The bar itself is very spacious and echoed quite a bit, so I could only imagine how much louder it myst be during it's normal business hours. A bit cold as well, I don't think they have any AC/heat systems installed.

Not my favorite sort of ambiance, but they had a pretty large and decent collection of liquors as well as beers offered. The decor was sparse and the feel was industrial. I'm sure the bar would be a great place to watch the Superbowl or NBA finals, but it's just not my kind of scene.

I had such a great experience at the Lister Bar on the night of July 9th. I stopped by since I live by the SF State neighborhood and Micky and the bouncer Michael provided excellent service that won't go unnoticed. I will definitely come back on a weekend! Thank you Micky and Michael once again!

Plenty of beers on tap, friendly bartenders, and best of all you can bring outside food in! There are events happening every night which are listed in the bar. We came by for the paint night which happens on Sunday afternoons. I've been to paint nights before but it was quite refreshing to sip on a variety of beers instead of wine for a change. The outside patio area is perfect for dinner with a beer at sunset. There are a number of restaurants in the same strip mall as Lister so there really should be something for everybody. Will definitely drop by for some takeout from next door and a couple of pints in the future.

If they're going to charge you a cover fee to get in, this bar isn't worth it. Go to a better bar in the city and pay their cover fee.
