There was good and bad with this Inn. Just to give you some background. My wife and I like to have a little space with 2 kids when we go away so we tend to look for hotel rooms like Residence Inn's that have a common room and maybe 2 BR so that at night we can stretch out with multiple tv's especially when the kids want their shows and we want ours or when the kids want to play Youtube or Netflix material.
We were looking for a 4 night getaway (got changed to 3 for personal reasons) and wanted to find such a hotel but there were none available. We know certain chains say suites but in reality are just a kitchen. So we started looking at Inn's and the Inn at Lincoln Square came up with reviews all over the place depending on the site. At the end of the day we booked the unit that had 3BR with a LR, kitchen and actually laundry facility.
Pro's
1) The location is awesome. Right in Lincoln Square (It is a traffic circle) that has a ton of restaurants in walking distance. It made our evenings easy when you don't have to get in your car looking for a restaurant especially when many places require you to pay to park.
2) It has dedicated parking behind the unit in an alleyway.
3) The place is massive. The 2 queen BR are big. Personally I wish the master was a king. My wife and I have a king and it is always a challenge getting used to a queen but we did. The LR is big.
Cons
1) It is old or should I say outdated. Yes it is an inn that dates back to the 1800's but it looks like it hasn't been painted since the 80's. A fresh coat of paint would do wonders for this place. The place isn't horrible by any means but it just seems beat up. For instance lights with one working bulb, a shower where the hot water faucet turns on but the cold falls off.
2) Not the hugest deal but in a big place I would have liked more than 1 tv. We ended playing a lot of board games which was nice but at least 1 in the MBR would have been nice just before bed.
3) The unit does have WiFi but it was very slow. By no means does it need to be what I have at home but I have a WiFi speed tester on my phone. It was registering 1MBPS. Most places have at least 10 and I have been in hotels with 25-50 before asking to pay up. I only cared because with 1 TV, netflix wasn't really an option for my kids with Ipods and IPads that don't have cell service.
4) We could have lived with all of that considering we were out most of the day but for the money we spent per night we didn't get service in our unit. No fresh towels. No garbage removal. No making of the beds. If we would have stayed an extra night or two I wouldn't know what to do with the garbage.
Because the booking went through Booking.com but we cancelled the last night a month earlier we called to get the receipt to make sure we weren't charged the last night (we weren't). My wife spoke with Jeannine (she checked us in and is very nice). She said it was her week to be off and she thought someone else was picking up the slack.
So if you want a very convenient place, close to the battlefield, close to restaurants that is big and you are willing to leave some of the comforts at home then by all means you will probably enjoy this place. If however you want to be in a nice comfortable modern place, then keep looking.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Todd C.Gettysburg, PA01Apr 22, 2024

We stayed in the Annie room. I could live in this room. I worked in a hotel for two years and did an inspection on the room and found nothing of concern. Very clean room, well taken care of! The security could have been a little better. Having a kitchenette was really nice as well! The big fridge was great! I also loved the location, in walking distance of everything downtown! I would definitely stay in this room again!

This place took my money, double booked us out of a room. We drive 7hrs, arrive - no parking. Ring the bell to be allowed in, nobody comes. We call their front desk, a man insists we had no reservation. We said we had confirmation as well as a bank debit and would like to show him. He would not even allow us inside to talk about it face to face, wanted us to email our proof. He said he would call us back. Standing out front in the heat, waiting; he finally calls back and says it was a new rep that made a mistake on their end. Would not refund in cash, so my wife and I stuck with limited funds in the middle of town with no room on one of the busiest weekends of the year. We ended up having to pay a higher rate at a comfort inn, last room avail, 4th floor with a broken elevator. Thanks for the memories. These people are terrible. Take a tip from me and don't count on these folks for a good vacation

I reserved The Inn at the square for a group of employees. My employees thanked me & advised me that they were impressed with how nice the accommodations were. Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, and conveniently located on the square. I plan to use this location again in the future & highly recommend it.

We took a long vacation while in Gettysburg we stayed at The Inn...and I think about it ALL OF THE TIME. I recommend/insist people to stay there.
First, we called ahead and asked if they knew of a 'fluff-n-fold.' We we're running out of clean clothes due to the high heat we felt with in DC (where we stayed the week prior). The owners told us that if we liked they could take our dirty clothes to their home to launder. I couldn't believe it. Thank you, THANK YOU! The next day our clothes were waiting for us..folded and clean.
We also told them that we didn't require room upkeep while there. But when we returned to the room fresh towels, cleaned room and made bed (along with our cleaned clothes) were taken care if anyways. The bed was very comfy.
We stayed in the attic room and loved it. My husband is 6' and just grazed the bottom rafter, but the room was absolutely charming. Don't request the room if you don't want to walk up the steps.
The location is perfect and next to the build the Lincoln wrote the Gettysburg address. We were basically sleeping in history.
Have dinner next door at the Blue and Grey. We had a pitcher of good beer and hot wings one night and the total was $12 for both of us.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matt O.Ashburn, VA5116Jun 21, 2019
Such a great place! On the last leg of a an epic road trip with my 8-year-old son and I wanted to show him Gettysburg. I really didn't want to stay in the run of the mill hotel. I wanted something with history and the Inn at Lincoln Square was exactly that. It's located next to the David Wills building (where Honest Abe prepped for the Gettysburg Address) and right in the heart of Lincoln Square. Tons of restaurants and pubs as well as shops (including a comic book store that set me back a few coins). The rooms (basically a whole floor of the historic building) had a full kitchen, huge bathroom and are beautifully decorated. We had a great nights sleep and the showers were nice and hot. Only bad things were a great deal of noise in the morning (garbage trucks dumping bottles it sounded like over and over again) and a homeless couple right outside the front door. Both of these seem like the hotel wouldn't have much control over. I would definitely stay here again and most likely will.

We stayed at the Inn Sunday night before touring Gettysburg Battlefield. The room (or suite) was superb. Janine was very helpful...meeting us at 9 PM for checkin. Location on the square was great for walking around the downtown. Only thing we would add is breakfast but Janine had baked muffins for us.

Wow what a great place. We stayed in one of the 3 bedroom townhouses and it really worked out well. Bedrooms are an OK size but the downstairs has tons of space. There is only one small bathroom in the unit which can be a challenge in the morning. Hotel is dead center in the middle of town, so we could walk to every restaurant in town. Free internet and parking right outside the door is also nice. The service is also fantastic and there to help in any way. We did a walk thru of the front 1 bedroom suite which looked great as well.
