The hidden tap is a great local bar thats in a quiet neighborhood. It's fun and frequented by locals.

The bartenders and staff are always friendly and the have some fun events going on a regular basis. From bingo, To other special parties it's alway good times at the Hidden Tao.

Keep an eye out for DJ Dave's special events - 80s night, Pajamas party and other fun themed night that some folks get dressed up for including myself!

If your a little hungry - their pizza is so dam good. It's a 12" pizza with great crust. It's fantastic!

Week days are nice and chill so you can enjoy some
Good laugh with a comfortable and clean pub. The hidden tap lives up to its name .... but the fact that it used to be a speakeasy brings an element of history that makes their drinks taste just little better for some reason.

Gonna do five stars just because I've been coming here since it was Hal's Place, and the DJ was great. 4/29/22

Not so impressed as everyone else who has reviewed.

When I asked to order a pizza I was told immediately that's gonna be a long long wait. I was willing to wait but felt like I was imposing

Hidden tap is really a hidden location down a long road in the suburb of Cary. Super local bar location. So local that when you walk in they give you a look to make sure its not someone they know. We went during Karaoke night and had a blast. Nothing special just a local bar to relax at.

Full transparency: I have worked here as a paid DJ. That said, I was a patron first and always loved this little dive bar that isn't so divey! I mean, most small local neighborhood bars that are true dives smell like rotting wood and have sticky floors and bartops. This place is so new and clean looking. Probably the cleanest bar bathrooms I've ever seen of this size of place! It's tiny and it's just always a fun atmosphere. So much so, I asked them if I could DJ (for free!) on my 50th birthday. It went so well for them (and for me!) I was asked back for some paid gigs. I absolutely love it there and not just for that reason. Friendly people that work there, friendly people that go there! The only food they serve is pizza, but that must be one magical oven because for thin crispy crust pizza, it's pretty outstanding and everyone else says so too...not just me. Great beer selection. Good outdoor area, electronic darts and gamblin' games I've "donated to" more then once (I have had some friends who've done well though!). Sharing a few pics from my themed DJ nights: 80's night, Pajama Night, Halloween, etc... They have karaoke and open mic nights often too! Go to The Hidden Tap or book your parties there. I may even be able to DJ it. ;)

This is a nice little surprise in an otherwise rural area. The bartender was very nice and the other people in the bar were definitely my kind of people- but there were a few things I wish were different. For starters, they are not open for breakfast and to my knowledge they only serve pizza- frozen pizza that is cooked (perfectly) in a toaster oven. I am not a fan of pizza but when you're hungry and drinking, compromises are made. A full kitchen and being open for bloody Mary's on the weekend would make a big difference to me. I haven't found a good Bloody Mary since we moved to the area a year ago. I would be optimistic about theirs.
They have horseshoe pits that they keep covered even in the nicest weather. Why? What is the point of having them if they are not to be played with?
But over all, it's a gem of a place. One thing that surprised me was how clean it was. It was brand new on the inside while the outside seemed dated. Another thing that would be a nice improvement is some more interesting landscaping. There is nothing but potential on the covered outdoor seating area.

Hidden gem just off Route 14 in Cary

A true neighborhood bar, but comes complete with a great beer selection , fun bartenders, a completely renovated feel, solid bar snacks, and most importantly a welcoming vibe.

I brought a buddy in last week, and he was blown away that a place like this still exists.

Don't let the name & Air Balloon signage throw you off - this is a great add to your NW Burbs "bars I need to check out" list.

Great Neighborhood Bar, Friendly people , a little out of he way unless you live on the east side of town but worth the trip to gather with a group of friends
The guys in the neighborhood go here usually on Monday nights during the Football season to watch MNF
