      Is there onsite parking?

      A:

They don't have a parking lot. There's street parking and other businesses that are usually closed in the evening where you might be able to park.

    • Q:

Can they make half and half like half 5 cheeses and half pepperoni?

      A:

I honestly don't think they do. They're menu says no half toppings. But I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.

I LOVE PIZZA. Whether budget pizza, to NY slices, Chicago deep dish, to artisan.

Gypsy Poet is totally hip place to get artisan type pizza. As others have mentioned, the menu is small, but every pizza is delicious.

Being a Californian, I didn't find this place on my own. Rather, the natives I know pegged The Gypsy Poet as the place where we should get pizza.

So one night we got it via Uber Eats. Another week I was craving pizza again, so I placed an order for five pizzas and picked them up. (We had a lot of people that night.)

The parking lot is small, but I got lucky with the last spot on my most recent visit.

If you love pizza like me, I highly recommend if you're in Houston.

Hip lil spot for some tasty pizza and salad, I really enjoy this spot for their quality pizza and casual vibes.

The menu is small, but the flavors are not. Choose one of the signature combinations listed on the menu. The pizza is cooked in a real pizza oven. There's lots of extra condiments and sauces to spice up your pizza or give it an extra oomph including hot honey. The pizza has a nice chew to the crust, and the premium ingredients really shine through. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it is a quality product.

There's also a bit of patio space and plenty of street parking. Apparently they have live music sometimes on the stage.

I've visited this place a couple of times with my friends and always enjoy the atmosphere. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, including a charming patio, which adds to the inviting ambiance. Plus, all the staff are super friendly. However, every time I've been here, there's been a line out the door, and it takes about 20 minutes just to place your order.

While the pizza selection is varied, it's not the absolute best I've tasted in Houston. Despite that, my friends and I still find ourselves returning here regularly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone seeking a satisfying pizza fix!

I would say this is my favorite pizza place in town, and that's not just because this is where my partner and I had our first date and where we celebrated every year since. My absolute favorite is the pepperoni madness! The hot honey on top of a pepperoni pizza is an unique twist that had us going for one slice after another. Also, they have very good vegetarian options like the Dream Catcher for us to enjoy days in which she does not eat meat without compromising our dates. There are some board games in the restaurant and large tables, so it is also a perfect place for a group to hang out and play some games as well!

I get the hype. Portobello salad? So delicious! I think what really stands out for Gypsy Poet is their fresh ingredients and aesthetic placement of the food. Might be more to it since I'm only basing it off of first impression, but I'll definitely be coming back. Yes, coming back specifically for that portobello salad!

Parking can be a bit tricky.

We went there on Saturday 5 minutes before the closing and the restaurant was jam packed. It's a casual place offering both indoor and outdoor seating. They have pizzas, salads and drinks. We ordered Dreamcatcher, margarita and 5 cheese pizza. Loved all of them.

TL;DR - very tasty oven fired pizzas that are definitely a step above pizza chains like dominos.

Food - I really enjoyed the thin, authentic pizza, and the hot honey pepperoni one was probably my favorite with the fancy backpacker in a close second. Tiramisu was great and overall I will def be back whenever I want quality pizza. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

Service - pretty standard but the line was out the door so there was like a 15 min wait to just get inside to place an order.

Ambiance - definitely very busy and packed on a Sunday night. They had live music come in and play halfway through our meal, which I actually wasn't a huge fan of because the trombone and drums were pretty loud, so it wasn't possible to hold a normal conversation across the table without yelling at each other. I would have preferred not having live music because the busy atmosphere was already pretty lively while still being able to converse comfortably. I'd still come back for the pizza though haha

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago with a friend! I'd heard a lot about it from numerous people and locals, and finally got to check it out. You have to wait in line to order at a counter before finding somewhere to sit. Overall, the restaurant was clean and well set up - lots of places to sit.

The place was super busy, indoors and outside on the patio. We had to wait in a pretty long line to order at the counter but it was worth it. Once we ordered, we didn't have to wait too long actually to be served - considering how busy it was.

We ordered the Dream Catcher and Troublemaker and both were delicious!! I think the Dream Catcher was my favorite. I will definitely be back and will also be recommending to friends and others visiting town.

This is probably the best pizza I've had in the Houston area... Tomato sauce is very important to me when I'm trying out a pizza, so happy to report that the tomato sauce is very flavorful (with a little bit of sweetness), and the fresh cheeses are delicious as well! I really enjoyed the dreamcatcher pizza which had truffle oil, goat cheese, mozzarella and arugula (truffle oil + goat cheese is a really good combination!). The standard margarita pizza was also very good, with tasty fresh mozzarella. I think the only minor negative was that a few parts of the crust were burnt which those parts a bit more dry and tough, but this didn't really detract from the pizza that much as a whole!

They have live music most nights (and also board games) in their Heights location, which really just makes the experience even better, 9.5/10 would recommend and will be back!

I've been told to try this pizza. I believe it is family owned Venezuelan. It did not disappoint. We got the pepperoni madness, fancy backpacker, and the portobello mushroom salad. All 3 were delicious. The Fancy Backpacker was my favorite pizza.

      Staff were also extremely friendly.
