Be careful and check your items well before you leave. We had a few that were pretty damaged, broken zippers, broken straps. Overall can be a good deal but be careful.

I do not always find what I am looking for, but a bunch of times I find something I didn't know I needed.

Absolutely fantastic.
I packed for my kiddos and my most recent trip to C. Oregon in a bit of a frenzy. It always starts with best intention for organized simplicity, but after packing myself, all the food, meds, sunscreens of every kind, kid stuff etc. I find myself just trying to get it over with, and by the 3rd or 4th time searching for a missing item my kids haphazardly discard somewhere, this time a hiking / water sandal, I throw up my hands and think we'll make it work with whatever we have. Well, I ended up signing up my kids for an adventure excursion trip, where they had to have real gear, including hiking / water sandals. As well as planning a trip for the 3 of us to do some hiking water activities myself. After thinking it over, I decided not to make my 8-year-old wear his old tennies. I didn't want to splurge on another pair of new shoes, so we checked out Gear Fix.
In addition to getting my son the foot gear needed, we ended up leaving with an awesome used gear pack, and another pair of hiking sandals for my daughter. The pair I purchased for her were too good to pass up, even though she already owns a pair.
The staff was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. While we may not have found just exactly what we were looking for all across the board, we did find what we needed and plus some. I didn't take too much time to look around, but was also impressed by the used bike selections.

Staff accused me of working at this location and hangs up on me after errors. Matter fact Border Patrol Agent's don't argue about Outdoor gear in Brewster County Texas ?? I have sold outdoor equipment from Seattle to Terlingua Texas and worked on house boat's, trailers, bayliners, jet skis, ECT. Staff wants me to call the Bend Police department on a stolen bike I had in there, that they could not look up properly on the internet? Will not let talk to owner and hangs up on you? I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau!! I talked to Ben REI Bend Oregon about this situation.

Definitely one of the best outdoors shops I've been in selection wise with plenty of unique, old and new gear. However, the prices are insane. No wiggle room either and items are priced at or above eBay listings, not even sold one's mind you! Most clothes are priced like an outlet. Actually I'd recommend going to the north face outlet and buying a new pair of shorts for possibly cheaper! Good for random gear and browsing, occasional deals to be found.

Great to find most of what you are looking for. They sell everything. Some things are little worn and old looking and prices can be high. Need to go on a sale day or have the patience to look through the racks.

Was very excited to go check out the Gear Fix in Bend, but it didn't really happen. This review is just based off the friendliness of the employees I saw when passing bu the store. They seemed to be patient and kind when helping customers with their pick up orders. At this time they do not have in store experience which is what I was hoping but I understand why they do not. I am excited for when they re open. I will be sure to stop by when I am in Bend next time.
