I love Epicurean Kitchen! Staff is fantastic and friendly. Probably the most accommodating lunch place I've been to.
Have tried a solid half dozen options with the Buffalo chicken grilled cheese and pulled pork being my standard bearers. Tough to order something else, but everything else I've had is so good too. IMO the best cole slaw around.
The soups are killer and they have made batches for my wife with specific ingredient substitutions.
The team at Epicurean keeps it fresh and always has new delicious ideas on the menu.
One of these days we're having a catered party because I'm sure it would be amazing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 37210082134Sep 12, 2022
I searched for a place to grab some lunch on our trip up from the Cape and this place had great reviews and serves food that isn't garbage, which I've eaten enough of recently. I'm so glad we found this place!
As hard as it is to choose between a soup, sandwich, and salad, the decision was made somewhat easier by the fact that I was able to order a half salad with my sandwich. Everything is locally sourced and they have a fair amount of vegetarian options.
I went with the Max's Hummus Sandwich with roasted garlic hummus, avocado, cucumber, carrot ribbons, and romaine on multigrain bread. The hummus and avocado were SO CREAMY together and I loved the freshness of the produce. This was a delicious and filling sandwich.
As my half salad, I ordered the quinoa salad, roasted butternut squash, spinach, craisins, and verb vinaigrette. I loved the vinaigrette, it wasn't too heavy. This salad was a touch too sweet for me, probably because of the craisins, and I could have gone with a little bit less sweetness but it was still enjoyable.
GF ordered the veggie panini with caramelized onions, eggplant, portabella, arugula, and goat cheese on multigrain bread. I don't know how they fit that much stuff in there tbh. Considering how long it lasted, I would hazard to guess she liked it.
We also sampled their rosemary chips which were amazing and perfectly salted.
I am a big fan of what they're doing here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dre R.South Boston, Boston, MA610748Aug 18, 2022
Hallelujah!!!
So glad a friend told me about this place. I have worked locally for 20 years & have always been sour about the lack of healthy & fresh lunch options locally.
I have been so pleased with this new found gem!
I did the 1/2 turkey club & Chicken Sandwich & homemade chips for only $13! Can't beat the fresh ingredients and friendliness of the staffHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Taryn M.Abington, MA5597Aug 27, 2022
Sandwich variety is great! Don't make it in often as I'm not in the area when they are open as much as I'd like. Soups are also a must try! Had a cheesy cauliflower soup the last time I was in and it was yummy!
They have meals in a cooler/freezer you can grab to take home which is great too!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 12, 2020Updated review
Still stellar, and doing contactless pickup for their standard lunch menu as well as prepped meals.
Here's the scoop: call direct, place your order and pay over the phone. Call them again when you arrive, and they drop your meal off at a small table in front of their shop. Take it home, devour immediately, feel satisfied you've crushed one of the finest lunches on the South Shore.
(PS - get the Kimchi Reuben. For some reason, I think it's even fatter during the stay-in sequestering. They're treating us right; do the same for them.)Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 13Oh no 0May 25, 2016Previous reviewDamn near close to a perfect lunch.
The Kimchi Reuben had me at hello, and it was constructed beautifully. Layers of house corned beef, kimchi in lieu of kraut, and bubbling Swiss exquisitely toasted between slices of marble rye. At first, $9 struck me as a pretty penny for an a la carte sandwich, but two bites in, and I'd have paid more. Housemade rosemary chips ($2) are a delightful side - I only wish they were a bit more aromatic. Perhaps keeping them warm or offering to lightly heat them while the sandwich is being prepared?
The focus here is on food. Every aspect is meticulous, and it's as much art as it is a meal. Carry-out dinners avail for 2-4, and the menu rotates bi-weekly. There's a drink cooler for Pepsi products, Lipton teas and (wha?) Bundaberg sodas. Minimal seating inside and out for nicer days. I heard rumors of a soup and sandwich combo, but there's nothing explicit on the menu.

I've been wanting to try this place for so long and it was well worth the wait. Staff was super friendly and the food was amazing. The Hayden panini is everything I love in a sandwich, prosciutto, apples, Brie, and fig jam and I got it on the multigrain bread! Can't wait to come back here again and try other items on the menu

Hallelujah! The south shore might start redeeming itself. But let's start with The Epicurean Kitchen- we got the special grilled cheese, pulled pork grilled cheese, rosemary chips and fresh Tomatoe soup for lunch. For my wife to eaten it all - she's the tough sell, much harder then me. She loved it!! I got the pulled pork grilled cheese - delicious!! Pulled pork had great flavor, and consistency, the pesto is the perfect touch. Soup is fresh, flavorful and it all hit the spot. It's a shame you're 20 minutes from us but we'll worth the trip. Great job and we'll be back again soon!!

Not only the best sandwiches, and soups, but what I love about this place is the genuine sincerity, friendliness and down to earth staff. Nothing phony or pretentious, just people who seem like they like what they are doing !
