The Distinguished Wien

This is an interesting take on hot dogs here at this place. They have your regular hot dogs "flavors" like chili cheese or coney or foot long (guess that's a measurement as opposed to a flavor isn't it) and of course everyone's favorite (right?? RIGHT?!?!), Chicago dogs. But there's a bunch of others with different kinds of toppings too that can make the decision process a bit tough!! I went with a chili cheese dog (yup, I was basic tonight) and a side of the Fawncy fries. Fawncy fries are crinkle cut fries (guess they don't make their own or source them fresh sadly) topped with cheese and onions and bacon and truffle sauce. So when you read this and see "truffle sauce", think Truffle sauce which is a line of truffle infused hot sauces. It's not very heavy on the truffle at all. I got my food to go, so I didn't stay in long to enjoy the decor but it was cutely decorated with some TVs on the wall with the sound turned all the way down. Also a couple of the TVs were on satellite/cable version of dead air - just a blank screen with a title splash.

Anyway you don't care about the TVs you care about the food so - nice warm soft bun on the chili cheese dog and it had a copious amount of toppings on board. Rather tasty as well. The fries also had a good amount of toppings and the truffle sauce was good with it / earthy paired with earthy of the potatoes was good.

First off the building is old outside and inside. The floor needs replaced, it is very sticky maybe the wrong cleaner used not sure. The walls and counter looked good. They have a variety of options for beef wien. They also have chicken. Fries and onion rings. I didn't look at everything. I ordered the Chicago wiener which I have had someone else. When the wien came to the table I asked if the peppers on top were hot the waiter didn't have a clue he thought they were banana peppers. I took a bite it was so hot. The waiter should know it wasn't marked on the menu hot either. But alter taking them off it was a very tasty wien My friend ordered the bacon nacho cheese fries. They really was not that good Oh and I didn't see a restroom and no I didn't. Ask the place is small I looked for it then thought it might be in the door way but it wasn't not.

Lackluster experience. Maybe it was just an off night.
Luckily the young server did his best to be attentive to us.

Stumbled upon the Distinguished Wien when doing a quick search of a place to find a hot dog! Surprised by this fun little restaurant with a fun inflatable dancing character by the front door.

Highlights:
- incredibly kind staff. Greeted immediately when we walked in, regularly checked on, super kind and helpful

- parking lot in the back. Love anytime you don't need street parking

-first responder discount. Love supporting restaurants that support first responders

- food was good and unique!

Only thing I wish was improved:
- I wish there were more topping options. I would love to see pickles or tomatoes as "add-ons". While toppings are available, I wish there were more variety.

Overall fun stop for lunch. Clea interior and fun playlist. Will be back!

Today is their opening day. My sister has been anticipating their opening as she drives by each day. We had errands to run so we were out during lunch time and made this our first stop.

The dining room is cute. Simple tables and chairs in bright surfing colors. I didn't get a photo of the surfboard on the wall darn it. There are four magnetic Scrabble games on the walls, plus four TV screens. Eight tables seating four each with a counter looking out the front window in the main dining room. There is a side dining room with a large table that seats eight.

I ordered a Solo Sophisticate Wien, which is an all beef hot dog with 2 toppings for $5. I added relish and onions for my two toppings because ketchup and mustard are on the tables. The hot dog is charbroiled or grilled and is big, as in thick. I'm glad I only got one. It was delicious.

She got a Corndog with Solo Fries. She also ordered a cup of Chili because we both wanted to try it. She said her corndog was excellent. She also noted that there is only one other place she knows of where you can get a corndog in the Mooresville/Camby area. We both concluded the chili is probably the same thing on the chili dogs.

Service was fast and friendly. Business was good. Lunch time was very popular with quite a few folks. They also serve pulled pork. This is the same building as the former Chinese restaurant but with a much brighter, airier feel, to the inside.

Was in Mooresville at dinner time when I remembered that this new restaurant had opened. I was in the mood for a great hot dog and this place delivered. Lots of unique choices and ones I haven't seen at other places. Also for a hot dog place very nicely decorated loved watching old price is right episodes on the tv while eating. I had the angry taco wiener and it was excellent. Good hot dog with all the accompaniments including crushed flaming hot Cheetos. I definitely will be back to try more of the choices as they all looked good.

10/10 if you're waiter is beckham ( prince wein) you'll get 10/10 service. They have tons of great food and a wide variety if options. The ambiance is amazing. They have games on some of the tables and good music.

Good food and they had vegan options. The service was quick snd friendly. Tons of different options. Well will definitely go back.

Great variety in different styles of dogs and fries. Love they have their specials that cycle through as well. Definitely one of the top spots to try in Mooresville! We will be back for sure!

Unique and very tasty options! The food was hot and fresh, service was great and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend!
