I love this place so much I wanna give it 7 stars, but I'm taking away 2 because every time I'm there some dude keeps talking about either his cats or Taylor swift.

Went into the Brixton because we saw it on Bar Rescue and we were not disappointed! So happy that they are open and doing well. Went in and grabbed a quick drink and they had fresh lime(yesssss) for my drink. Everyone was so nice and my boyfriend and I loved the music too. Great outdoor patio with heaters. Visiting from the Bay Area and so glad we made the stop in.

Really cool small bar my SO and I happened upon during our trip to Austin. We hung out here on a really cold evening just drinking beer and playing foosball. I think they have an outside bar too, but can't be sure. The inside is great, very small and intimate and really dark. They played a lot of punk which was cool and played a cult film from the 80s (boobs fully shown, so I'm assuming kids aren't allowed in here). The barstaff was helpful and really friendly, making me a drink that they don't normally do but made for me.

ROOFTOPPPP! All summer 2019 do not short yourself and miss out on the fabulous rooftops in the city. Came to Brixton one Sunday ago around brunch hours to find their marvelous specials on wine and beer. They also had a special on wings. Make sure you have some water because between the drinking and the crowd IT CAN GET HOTTTTT. Forreal. My chair was taken away by an employee saying it was taking up too much space. I disagree, and I needed to sit because I was too hot and dizzy, but he was so adamant and I didn't feel like explaining so I just ended up closing out and leaving. Other than that great music, and great feels.

My first trip to this establishment. Cool hipster vibe yet quite un-busy on an early Saturday afternoon. Good music was playing. Friendly bartender...and one of the more "interesting" examples of bathroom graffiti that I've seen in a long time. It's worth the trip.

If you haven't been here, you are missing out. Been coming here for years! Great atmosphere, usually come in for a drink when bar hopping with friends and end up closing the place down. Outdoor patio is a nice place to sip a beer and the indoor area is perfect sized.

The Brixton is the sh*t! In a world full of bars playing less than mediocre top 40 hits with excessive air horn, I'm so glad to have a place that has great drinks AND plays Tribe Called Quest, Mobb Deep and Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth (tonight's a hip hop night but I know I can hear other great genre tunes here on other nights). Thank you!!!

Comfortable drinking on the New East Side.
* * *
The Brixton is next to Hotel Vegas which has great music and terrible drinking.
If you are by Hotel Vegas but tonight is all about the whiskey,
Then the Brixton is your call, not Hotel Vegas.
The bartenders are friendly.
They play the Pandora Motorhead station which is definitely good music to drink to.
The set up here is small and simple.
They have a couple of TV's, a popcorn machine, a tiny rack with minibags of Cheetos, and, oh yes, the bar with the booze.
There is not a lot of room, but that just makes things cozy.

Of course, bars have their own personalities.
While the Brixton fits my personality, it may not fit yours.
If you live for microbrews,
This ain't your bar.
You ain't gonna be happy in a place with only six taps.
If you live for twelve ingredient cocktails that include Sakurao Limited Edition Gin, Irish Raspberry Bitters and fresh squeezed bergamot juice,
This ain't your bar.
Go downtown for a bartender with a Ph.D. in mixology from Stanford.
If you wanna play pool,
This ain't your bar.
Maybe you can play pool on your phone, or Pokemon or Vainglory.
If you want 500,000 cute people, so you can take one home for nocturnal entertainment,
This ain't your bar.
The house is small, so you would have to be very lucky on your first try.

If you live for good stuff in bottles,
Then this could be your bar.
The bottle selection is significantly better than you would get at a run of the mill dive bar
Okay, the selection is not as fancy as what you would get at a hundred dollar a person restaurant or an encyclopaedic coverage whiskey place.
But there are enough interesting choices to keep you entertained.
I did a Jamesons Caskmate in the Stout Edition.
I was happily occupied drinking away while perusing the bottle collection and making future plans.

Altogether, a bar that is as comfortable as the oversized sweatshirt you sleep in.
Actually, the Brixton really IS the size of an oversized sweatshirt.
So you may want to come early to get a seat.
Drink early.
Drink often.
Good Whiskey and Motorhead make for good times.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Kelsey B.Denver, CO252217140Nov 4, 2018
This place has the BEST music, but like the other reviews I found it to have a bit of a dark atmosphere and was a little unwelcoming. The music is on point, throwback from the 90's and 2000's, and that was well worth a stop in this bar.
Service isn't great, the bartenders were rude when my friend asked about drink specials. They gave a sassy response about it being a Saturday night and how we shouldn't expect specials on a Saturday.
They were playing a football game on a big screen TV which is a good alternative to a sports bar. This is a chill place to stop by, but its not a must see on East 6th.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ryan P.Austin, TX205102Jul 26, 2018
I haven't been here, but just read these reviews and the replies from Tim L. Like how could you not fall in love with this place right off the bat. This is simply just a public shout out to the Tim and the Staff for making my morning.
