The Boathouse At River Islands

Our family had dinner there tonight and it was lovely. The service was great and our server was amazing! She really did a great job making us feel welcome and was very attentive.

The food was also delicious, to our delight. To the appetizers to the desert, everything was great! Highly recommend- it's a hidden gem indeed.

For the ambiance, the food could really step its game up. A bit dissatisfying when you have a nice river/ lake front view and some pretty sub par dishes.

The servers are awesome and don't want to take anything away from the service. We did order the rib tips which weren't too bad; however, the nachos were definitely coming from a bag of Tostitos, the nacho mix felt like a cheap store, runny seven layer dip, the salmon was a bit too gamey.. just not the best. I'll take my chances at the food trucks across the freeway.

Boathouse is definitely a restaurant that you come to for the ambiance and not the food. It has a nice view, a comfortable environment, and good customer service, but the food falls flat for me and well...everyone else considering this place has a 3.2 star rating currently.

Honestly the appetizers were a surprise because the Pretzel & Cheese Fondue ($18) was actually pretty good. The cheese fondue was delicious and they have the softest pretzel I have had in a while. It was also not dry unlike other pretzels I get at restaurants. The appetizers were pretty good including the nachos so at first I was like this is pretty good, why does this place have such low ratings? Then the entrees came and I was like, "Oooooh the ratings make complete sense now." Boathouse definitely has some of the worst entree dishes I have ever had.

My mom got the Jambalaya and it was the saltiest Jambalaya ever. Then they also can't remake it because they preseason everything and it was just all bad. Plus the seafood was far from fresh. I got the Jack Daniels Burger ($18) and honestly it's a tier below a McDouble from McDonalds. It was bad and so dry. The Jack Daniels sauce also makes no sense because it was so sweet I was like eating a dessert and where even is the "Jack Daniels sauce" flavor? I asked for it medium rare too and I'm pretty sure it can't be cooked differently because my patty was so overcooked and dry.

I just wish they would step it up with at the bare minimum fresher ingredients and changes to their menu because this place could be amazing with the location being great, but you can't just rely on that to be a great restaurant. Overall, super dissapointing, but the pretzel is pretty good.

First time here and it's really a nice place. Waitresses are very attentive to your needs and the food is excellent however, I did find the bathrooms a little substandard.

Wood fire wings and wood fire pizzaz is the go to always!!! We bring all our guest here! They are accommodating to changing the channel to watch any games. Also service may seem a little slow but everything came in a timely manner! It's a go to spot once a week forsure! Can't go wrong with the view of the lake on a beautiful sunny day!

I was in town visiting my cousin she lives in River Islands this location was so convenient since it's in River Islands neighborhood. Inside there is a bar area seating tables and some TVs . We decided to seat outside which is a big patio area over looking the river it was really relaxing .

Our waiter was super nice and attentive . She was always checking out us and made sure we had everything we needed . I ordered the Wagyu Jack Daniels burger with their loaded Mashed Potatoes. They were both delicious the mashed potato for the side is the way to go ! My cousin got the Cobb salad that thing was huge and it looked really good . I wanted a wood fire pizza but it was to early the oven was not ready yet . I will have to come back to try the pizza . Inside it looked clean and organized. For the parents with small kiddos they have a changing table in restroom.

Overall my cousin and I had a great lunch date. We ate great food and got to catch up and spend some time relaxing watching the water . The service was excellent . I would definitely be coming back and trying the pizza. I love that this place is so close to my cousins house so we can stop by when we visit her.

went the the Boat House on a whim for dinner tonight and it did not disappoint, the food was great, i had the JD burger and it was delicious, my kids also loved their orders, no complaints there, we arrived, we saw plenty of customers, we opted to seat outside, service was fast and our waiter is very nice and attentive but i forgot his name my bad, only minus is the parking but there is a satellite parking lot but most customers will miss it, they should put some directions to it as street parking is also minimal otherwise all good and we will be back, btw stay for sunset the view is wonderful

Ate here a while ago & the food was absolutely awful. Husband & daughter got burgers & neither one of them like them. (When an 8 year old thinks a cheeseburger is terrible, you know it's bad). I got the jambalaya and it was terrible as well. It's really unfortunate that the food is so awful considering it's probably one of the nicest locations in Manteca/Lathrop.

This restaurant is located in River Islands in Lathrop where you have to drive through the neighborhoods in order to get to it. There was limited parking so we had to make a U-turn and head towards the exit for parking.

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. They had reservations but they sat us outside in the tents. It was really chilly and cold but they did have heat warmers.

The menu had some really great options. The drinks look promising but they tasted like they were well drinks and lacked the taste factor. We couldn't drink our drinks because they were hard to drink. The appetizers and the entrées tasted great.

Went to lunch with friends. Everything about this restaurant is 5 stars, the atmosphere,the cleanliness, the wait star and the food was incredible. Large menu to hard to choose , everything is not ordinary. Well worth the trip
