The Blackbird Waterhouse

Drove in for a quick 2 day getaway. As soon as you walk in you smell amazing bbq. They did not disappoint. Great selection of beer and wine, awesome bbq sauce flight and great mac n cheese. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.

The food in the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful! They hosted our wedding last year and is one of our favorite local places to go to for a top quality dinner. The staff and the owners are always friendly and make you feel welcome, and I think everyone should take a moment to experience this for themselves.

Very disappointed my last visit. Ordered ribs and they were served cold. Service was attentive and friendly.

Have tried this place once a year since it's opening. While the food is good, it's no where near the quality of restaurants nearby in st Joseph or south haven. And it's overpriced at that. Given its convenience to Paw Paw Lake and our desire to help local businesses we kept giving it a try. Every time, the staff looks like a deer in the headlights when customers come in. They don't have a single shred of customer service or desire to create a welcoming environment. Try at your own risk.

The food is wonderful, the drinks are great, the staff we worked with was knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. I know they're dealing with staffing challenges now and that is significantly slowing things down, but I hope they can work through that because this place is worth the time.

This place is super cute and the service was good for our small party. Even in the middle of a winter storm we were accommodated and sat in a timely fashion.

Dedicated gluten free goodness. We have fined here multiple times, while the service is hit and miss, the food is generally very good.

The food was very filling and worth the price for the amount you get. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu. It is a cute, small restaurant. The menu has many gluten free and vegan options.

Today the wonderful owners of Blackbird Waterhouse hosted a fundraiser for the local domestic violence shelter. Trip, January and the staff welcomed 65 attendees with grace and warmth. They served outstanding food and helped to raise much needed funding for the children who stay at the shelter for months. If you are planning an event, want a great meal or just want to stop for a drink, I highly recommend stopping in! Thank you so much for a very successful event!

We had a very nice evening at the Blackbird Waterhouse last Saturday. We arrived shortly after they opened at 5pm and there was already a handful of people waiting but they do take reservations. Fortunately, the weather was still nice so sat outside on their lovely patio.

We ordered their Brussels sprouts for our starter. They were very good, however, they were so crispy that it was hard to get them on a fork. For my entrée I had the crab cakes, which are a starter but the perfect amount for me. Loved them. D had the blackened Faroe Island salmon. It is served with pineapple-mango salsa, butternut squash risotto, and green beans. Unfortunately, the salmon was undercooked in the middle of the filet. He had already eaten nearly 2/3's of it before he got to the middle. We told the waitress and she confirmed it was too pink and said sorry. This would be a 5 star if the salmon was cooked properly.
