I contacted The Auto Clinic for a quote on changing up the wheels on my car. I wasn't sure if they did that kind of work, so I used the "Request a Quote" feature on Yelp to send them a message and ask my questions. Twix was nice enough to not only respond, but also advise me that unfortunately they don't do the type of work that I was asking about. You'd think that it would end there however, she proceeded to also refer me to a couple of local businesses for the work that I was asking about. I then asked about transmission work and she immediately responded and advised me that they only work on German cars, but AGAIN she goes on to refer me to two more local businesses that could look at my transmission.
Although I wasn't able to use their services for my needs, their customer service alone was impeccable! Twix quickly responded to my request for information and a quote and she kept responding to my other questions, when she could have just stopped responding to me, seeing how I wouldn't be able to be a customer of theirs. Other businesses would have been stopped communicating, but she didn't. She continued to answer me and point me in the right direction.
If I won the lotto, I'd buy a German car just so she could take care of it for me! The customer service alone makes him a keeper!Helpful 19Thanks 0Love this 18Oh no 0 - Feb 11, 2019
I had a great experience with these guys.
True professionals. Really heard out my concerns and even after finding the likely problem, went ahead and digged a little further to make sure nothing else was missed. Really appreciated their thoroughness and service-oriented approach.
Prices were reasonable and transparent. They communicated throughout the process and made sure I was in the loop. The shop is a bit hidden, but worth the search! Would also recommend calling ahead of time and making an appointment since they're a busy shop. Overall, got my car back within the estimated time frame and in tip top shape.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Peter N.Irvine, CA010592Jan 29, 2019Updated review
I took my VW Jetta to them twice and both visit they weren't able to fix the problems. First time was at the old location and recently at the new location. I had to take it to the dealership to have it fix. Both time it turn out to be something really simple any real mechanic would have diagnose the problems.
First time I was there for a check engine light. They told me it was something really serious with the engine's ECU and that they can't do anything about it. They made me so worry that I went straight to the dealership. It turn out to be a fault shutter vane located in the front grill. These shutter open and closed to let more or less air in to cool the radiator and intercooler for the turbo. Later on I Google the faulty code they gave me and sure enough it said something like faulty shutter vane stuck...not open..Something like that.
Second time was that my two center air vents is not blowing air but all other vents are blowing. They had my car for over half the day and could not fix the problem. They told me they have to take my whole dash out and that it would take a lot of time and cost me money and they don't have the equipment to reset some of the control boxes they have to remove. I guess the time it take to diagnose the problem is not worth the flat diagnosis fee they charge.
So again I had to take it to the dealership. Within 30min they were able to find the problem! It was a vacuum leak going to an actuator that control the air flaps behind the dash that divert the air to certain vents.
Their diagnosis fee is not to far off from the dealership fee. Even though I wasn't charge for the fee they did wasted my time and got me worry for nothing. I don't think these guys know what they are doing. Replacing parts hoping it work is not diagnosing the problems. They should stick to changing oil and rotating tire. I hope they remember to put oil in your engine or tighten the lug nuts. Well If you let them work on your car than you will find out sooner or later.
Anyway, next time I'll be taking my car straight to a real "mechanic" instead of wasting my time with these guys. I don't recommend anyone going to this shop unless you are really cheap! and want,
Larry, Moand Curly to work on your car!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Peter
I'm sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations.
Sometimes what may seem simple turn out not quite simple.
From your first visit the reason for suggesting you go to the dealer, there was a chance that some part of the actual diagnosis might require specific dealer tool.
Even though We have experienced technicians from the dealer, some repairs are not detectable at the first spot, the dealer might have additional access with their scanner or tools.
This was the reason why even after my technicians took the time to inspect and diagnose your car, we had to tell you to go to the dealer. We wished that we could have taken care of you all the way but the circumstance at that time had to let you go to the dealer.
And we offer NO CHARGES for those time of our work time.
I understand that you were not satisfied with the answer, and felt like you have wasted your time, but try to understand that we are only here to service our customer based our best efforts.
At The auto clinic, we have about 15 staffs, all hard working, some young and some with families, trying to serve our duty as professional and serve our community.
But when we see our customers leaving this kind of reviews it really breaks the spirit of our hard work.
(They should stick to changing oil and rotating tire. I hope they remember to put oil in your engine or tighten the lug nuts.) This type of comments are not related to the service you had with us, and it hurts our staffs feelings.
Please considerate kind gesture, and please accept our apology not being able to serve you on your last visit.
And as the manager, I would like to offer you accommodation for your last visit, here's a VOUCHER FOR $30 for your next maintenance.
Simply show this review and redeem when you check out.
We value every customer, and we are here to make you happy.
See you soon.

These guys are awesome. Very reliable and trustworthy.
They took extra good care of my lowered car during the oil change and didn't try to sell me on extra stuff even when I asked if my breaks needed replacing.
Will be going to them again in the future. Talented staff, honest mechanics, reasonable pricing. Enough said.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 47275May 9, 2018
We have been bringing our cars to the auto clinic for Oil changes and other car maintenance like replacing our battery and brakes.
Last week our check engine light came on and after bringing it in they mentioned it was just a loose cap.
It confirmed the fact that I could really trust them!
HONEST and RELIABLE can't ask for anything more.
We will continue to be loyal customers and always recommend them to friends and family.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amanda O.Sacramento, CA96736May 26, 2018
I love the auto clinic. I live in Long Beach, but the commute is worth it. I tried the pep boys near me and they charged me $80 for a diagnostic and I had to return 3x to fix a sensor, which they claimed was what caused my check engine light to come on. It wasn't, it was a transmission leak.
The auto clinic "charged" me $60, but waived it after I decided to get my brake pads, a sealant for my transmission, and an oil change with them. They said it would take 4 hours, but got it done early. Never going anywhere else. :) thanks, Joseph and Ricardo!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oscar C.Dana Point, CA051Feb 12, 2019
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! My car broke down completely and they literally were willing to feed me and my friend. They have complimentary water and coffee. I even overheard them talking to another customer who's car was in service and gave them a ride to the nearest market place to do some shopping! This has honestly been such a good experience and i recommend it to anyone who needs their car fixed! Mechanics are just as good too!

Thanks to both Matt and Mike for helping answer my questions before I came in, and then, for scheduling my maintenance work quickly and efficiently this morning for a Honda Accord Sport. After the general maintenance work and overall inspection, they took the time to bring me out to my sedan while it was on the rack, and have the technicians review the work and additional suggestions for things to keep an eye on for future work. No forceful upsell, no shady practices, just a good overall evaluation of the vehicle and a look to future needs. Great first experience today, and looking forward to returning in the future.

As a first time Mercedes Benz owner, I was hesitant to bring in my car for a service B to a shop or to a dealer. After finding auto clinic and reading the reviews, I decided to bring my car it. The service was quick and the price was reasonable. The customer service is excellent. Will definitely take my car back next time for service.
Pro:
- excellent service
- reasonable price
- honest car mechanics (I brought in 10 Qt if mobile oil for my car that needed 9qt. Instead of taking the remainder 1 qt, they return the remainder to me)
- comfortable waiting area
Cons
-can use a bigger parking lot in the front. It was hard finding a spot to park your carHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 19, 2016
I have a 2005 z4 roadster (Yes, original owner) and it's just over 110k miles - and without the service warranty, I can tell you that the "ultimate driving machine" comes with godawful premiums and price- maintenance is costly so (side note) don't try to own one if you can't maintain it properly. And if you lease luxury cars... Well you're even dumber than I thought... Just one flat tire for example and I'm already preparing to cough up 2k for 4 tires since they have to be matched bla bla bla.
Sorry I went off tangent, bottom line, luxury sports cars need to be cared for properly so with that said:
The Auto Clinic continues to be a calming effect for me when my lamp indicators come on.
I've been taking my car for regular service (ie oil change, tune ups, and any and all sensory indicators) to the Auto Clinic the last 4-5 years (I have the invoices to prove it ), and I'm happy that my trust/confidence continues to be untarnished.
I appreciate their prompt response, and willingness to fit me in on spontaneous calls. The pricing is fair and competitive - but not overly outrageous. Russ does a good job following up and Amber is pleasant on the phone and makes the effort to accommodate your schedule.
A solid bunch. Honest, no upsell, and efficient with their time - the Auto Clinic is the real deal.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
