Honestly for the most expensive barber cut I've ever paid for I wouldn't have expected to get such a bad haircut. The separation to my undercut was left shaggy and uneven and the somehow I have blunt hard lines going all through the top of my head with short and long patches all over the place.

I would definitely avoid going here for a cut of you like having a good styled cut.

You can see how blunt the hair ends about halfway through the photo.

I'll admit, I have a tough time with shaving products. Men have to be trained to shave by those they grow up with, and for those of us who weren't taught properly, all I can say is, thank goodness for Art of Shaving! Their process is amazing, and I'm happy to say its all available, relatively inexpensively, through this great King of Prussia store.

The store holds everything you'd need for men who need help grooming their non-scalp hair. There's a wide variety of shaving creams in different scents, including lemon, lavender, and sandalwood. Sandalwood is my favorite. There are matching oils for pre-shaving lubrication and aftershaves in the same scents to keep it all in the same family. What's more is that they have a great selection of shaving brushes to make lathering more effective.

All of these products may give you sticker shock when you first walk in. $20-some for shaving cream?! Okay, but it comes in a big tub, and it's not the GEL kind, so you only need a VERY little dab of it on your shaving brush, and it lasts for months, so it's even cheaper than something from CVS. $100 for a nice shaving brush? Okay, but, they last for 10 years, so that's really $10 a year to give you a far closer shave.

The store is set up with wonderful displays on dark mahogany shelves which gives you a classic and manly feel. There are big starter kits for around $100 which includes the oil, a large shaving cream, aftershave, and the lowest-end shaving brush, which makes a great gift set. There's a small, travel size kit, which may be more ideal. The body products, though I've used a few, are heavily scented so be warned.

I mainly go there to replenish their awesome shaving cream, but they also have personal barber services, so be sure to ask the salespeople when they'll be in. All the staff has been VERY friendly, and always gives me tons of free samples and explains new products. Honestly, some of the best shopping experiences I've ever had in the King of Prussia Mall.

I went with my best man the morning of my wedding. People were nice, and it was a cool little shop, but they really messed us up.

I had cuts all over my face! My best man just had them clean up his neck, and he got all cut up too. I don't think this is normal. I don't get cuts like this when I'm shaving, so I don't think it was something wrong with me. Literally- little cuts all over my neck, cheeks and lips.

On top of that, they used some product that really messed up my skin. It started drying up my skin, and after a few days it was so dry it was painful! I was burning the first few days of my honeymoon! I don't have any allergies and this stuff doesn't happen to me- so I don't think it was me.

Well, they really turned me off to paying for a shave. I thought it would be a cool thing to do, but it turned out to be a disaster. I am really dumbfounded by the whole experience. A store dedicated to shaving gave me the worst shave of my life!

The Art of Shaving caught my eye as I was holiday shopping as I myself have a bald head and keep up with the shaving of it as well. This lead to me going in to see what it was all about. So I walk in and only myself and another customer are there. There was a lady at the register and a gentleman speaking with the customer who was there previous to when I had walked in. So as I was looking around I was keeping an ear out as to what the salesman was saying as I had noticed they were talking about beards. Now, not to discount the fact that the customer had a beard that was maybe anywhere from about an eighth of an inch to a quarter of an inch and the salesman had maybe around a half of an inch of beard, but I myself have a pretty decent sized beard (around 3-4 inches in length). So I as I was listening, I found a chance to approach the salesman to find out about product for my beard and my head because I had noticed that the customer was ending his conversation. I tried to speak with this salesman and he pretty much short changed me and dismissed my interest. At this point I didn't think anything of it because I felt like he was just trying to finish with the other costumer. So I waited until they had actually finished and the customer was had left the store. So once again I went to approach the salesman and he seemed to be uninterested and slightly irritated. I was shocked by this incredibly. Being that this is a shop that cares about shaving and beards, I felt that being as a man with a beard and shaved head they would want to appeal to someone like me. This salesman really rubbed me the wrong way with his arrogance. I even tried to ask about active ingredients to find out what is good use on certain things. He didn't know a thing about the beard balm that he "highly recommends" so he picked up the product and began to read the ingredient list. He told me an ingredient that wasn't even listed which kind of set me over the edge too. At this point I was infuriated with his terrible customer service, so I left buying nothing and being completely dissatisfied.

Now I went back today to see if there was another associate who actually knew some product knowledge that could actually answer my questions. The same salesman from the night before was there as was another salesman. The store was pretty busy as it is three days before Christmas. I waited my turn and looked around at the product meanwhile. I noticed that they had very little selection as far as the actual razors go and were very pricey for them too. When I finally got the chance to speak with someone, it was the other gentleman this time and he had approached me. Now at this point I felt, "okay, the guy from last night probably was just having an odd night or bad day because this salesman had actually approached me." I started asking questions about product for my beard and also for my head. But as I went on with this associate, I noticed he was also getting irritated just like the other guy was. He had product knowledge though which was more than the salesman from the night before could say. But still, I felt as if he was treating me as if I were beneath him and didn't deserve his attention. As I mentioned before, the store is very pricey, but I wouldn't have mind purchasing something if I were given proper attention and customer service. So once again I walked out with nothing from this store. If I had the opportunity to give it no stars, I wouldn't hesitate. Do not at all recommend The Art of Shaving to anyone I know ever. Highly disappointed with everything about this place.

No customer service at all. Sitting in the store for 25 minutes with two people working in the store and not being acknowledged. Not valuing my time? Stone manager Porsha was "nice" enough not to apologize when I called! Go to Neiman Marcus - respect yourself!

I had a fantastic experience today meeting Keith and George. They both took the time to help me find the right beard products that I was looking for but also went above and beyond the call of duty in customer service as well as caring about what I wanted. I learned a lot of new information today about caring for my beard. I am not sure about some of the reviews that were posted talking about poor customer service because my experience was the complete opposite. The prices may have been higher than other places but the extra dollars spent on these products was well worth it because of the great experience and education I received; priceless. These guys truly care about you. I am looking forward to visiting again soon.

The employees here have to make a sale. That's understandable. The problem is what they are selling is (example merkur 34hd) $20-25 more than online. I understand you have a shop in the plaza as much as I understand you're owned by P&G and your margins are exactly razor thin (pun) but other than the shaving creams (which are admittedly decent albeit less effective having removed tallow) it's really not worth a stop.

You're selling a fancy handle with a Mach 3 blade attached to it for $150?! Lol, those are $20-40on Etsy.

This place and company is a joke, they have no idea what they're selling, everything is twice as expensive as you'll find anywhere else for the exact same item. And don't expect to even get what you pay for. Oh and when you call customer service if you ever manage to get through, they won't help you either. Don't bother emailing either as you'll get no response. No wonder no one is ever in this place.

This is a review of the barber not the store. The products are high quality and the sales staff is knowledgeable. Unfortunately the previous barber left and the girl that took his place is not on par. If you are going in for a hair cut it may be OK but skip the shave. The shave I received there (head and face) was worse than what I have done with a disposable razor. A good straight razor shave will leave you smooth for at least 2 days and I wouldn't even call this smooth. She tried to trim around my mustache but missed everything within a 1/4 inch. The worst part... I had to go into the bathroom to clean the blood off of my neck after she was done. I'm just glad that I had time to re-shave before I needed to go back out.

Find some one else if you are looking for a straight razor shave.

I stopped in here to check out what The Art of Shaving is all about. I'm a recent convert to the double-edge razor and brush method of shaving, and was hoping I could look at a wide selection of products and learn about the merits of each. I hoped to take a look at products from Parker, Merkur, Semogue, Omega, Jagger, and other reputable shaving manufacturers. I was hoping to be able to buy a variety of blades to try different brands.
Let me tell you, I was as disappointed as a wee lad who just got the scratchiest, most hideously patterned sweater for christmas. Their selection of DE blades consisted of precisely two types (I believe a gillette, and maybe a bic), and when I asked if they had others available, I was told that they only stocked these brands because they are the best. Even I, a double-edge novice, had personally experienced that some blades don't work too well for me -- however, these are not necessarily "bad" blades, they just don't suit my beard and skin. Their dogmatic perspective that "X" razor blade is unequivocally "the best" is simply nonsense.
Their selection of razor handles, brushes, soaps, and cremes was equally mediocre. In these products, they seem to carry only their house brand, which is priced at 200-1000% of the cost of comparable products at reputable internet-based shaving suppliers.
Don't get me wrong, shaving with a double-edge razor and a brush is a fantastic experience, but these folks don't really help you get a product that will work right for you.
