Fast, cheap and easy. $11 gets you a full plate of three items generously portioned and freshly prepared. The interior/ exterior of the space leaves much to be desired, but the place is clean and the service is decent so that's what matters. It's a buffet style service, and they have about 6 different items to choose from daily. We ordered the chicken curry, spring rolls, and fried rice. I appreciated that they didn't skimp on spiciness level. And while my meal was packed with flavor, I noticed that the chicken was a tad dry for my liking.

In any case, it's a solid lunch option if you're looking for a good, speedy meal on a budget.

Decent Thai Food. Tried the Soft Shell Crab and the dish looked a little messy and there were more flour than the actual crab. The ambience is alright. Cute tiny restaurant in a street corner, had very authentic pieces from Bangkok.

This place is a great lunch spot near my work, and its always packed.  I usually get a 3 item combo for 11 bucks...today i ordered the chicken curry, pad thai, and fried rice and it really hit the spot.  The chicken curry is bursting with flavor, the fried rice has nice texture and a good mix of vegetables, and the pad thai is on point.  Really cany complain about much.  Although the interior leaves a bit to be desired, has that asian fast food vibe, but very reasonably priced so im ok with it.  If you are in the area and want thai food get it here.

    Food: good
    Service: very good
    Ambiance: ok

So over all this is good place to grab a quick cheap lunch in an area where food options ca be limited.
They have the usual 1 item and 2 item specials for 6.95 and 8.95.
They usually have the same menu everyday with a daily special or two. The food is decent.
They have small tables set up so you can have chat with friends as you eat.
The place usually gets pretty busy during lunch time.

    Overall not bad

This place sucks in every sense of the word. I made a Yelp account just to write this review. Their food is not good and their customer service is even worse. The owner complained that I didn't give his delivery guy enough tip, when they already charged money for delivery and I proceeded to tell him that he isn't performing good customer service etiquette and he simply said "you too" and hung up on me. Never going there again, they've tainted Thai food.

So happy to have stumbled across this place. It's quick, tasty, and affordable. Love that you can choose 2 (or 3 if you're really hungry!) options. Eating lunch out is typically grab and go for me, and I'm thrilled that this place offers this.

Get the red curry! My only complaint is the chicken was overcooked and very dry even though it was sitting in curry. Regardless, I'll be back.

Note about the star rating: this is definitely not something I'd drive out of the way for, but it is 4 stars GIVEN ITS LOCATION.  It is definitely some of the best Asian food you'll find in the Newark area.
I've ordered take out from here three times.  There are on seamless and GrubHub, which is nice.  Their green curry with pork is solid.  They give a lot of meat, but are fairly sparse on the veggies.  The curry itself is flavorful and the portion is very generous (it served as both lunch and dinner for me).  Their massaman curry is also tasty, although when you get it, the entire top layer is just grease, which is kind of frightening.  I just spoon it off though and then eat it, no big deal.  I've also tried their pad see ew, which I really liked; broad flat noodles in savory sweet brown sauce.
My friends have also tried the pineapple fried rice and pad thai (which of course means I got to try it too).  Everyone agreed that those dishes are solid.  For comparison, one of my friends actually said that he thinks the pineapple fried rice here is better than at Spice Thai in Montclair.
My absolute favorite thing from here though is their Thai iced tea.  It's amazing.  I've had cravings for just the iced tea alone.
Solid take out food, although they do have space for dining in.  They accept credit cards.

I love this place. Their food taste really good. I like the blackened fish and the pad ki mau, mildly hot.

It's great place to eat then you can walk along downtown and enjoy the arts/culture of Newark downtown!

I was looking for Thai food spot and wanted to support local business.  I placed a order for pickup and tried chicken satay, yellow curry chicken and lastly the tamarind chicken.  The chicken satay was pretty dry.  The yellow curry was watery and oily lacking leaving much to be desired.  The star of the show was the tamarind chicken which was very pleasant.  The price point of this restaurant isn't bad but the flavor can be picked up a notch.

Had lunch 2 item special here (tofu curry and basil chicken) with Tom Yum Vegetarian soup.
Let me just say ONE OF THE BEST Thai food experiences ever...Tom Yum vegetarian has a rich, deep, delicious, incredible flavor...Hands down the best Tom Yum's soup I have ever had and I've had quite a few. I plan on asking them if I can move into the kitchen and work for food my next visit.

This is my go-to Asian food place in Newark because it is relatively cheap and decent enough food. It isn't the best, isn't the worst, just genuinely, reliably decent. I usually get the pad see ew, which is a broad noodle in a brown sweet soy sauce with chicken and broccoli, or the pad Thai. I sometimes request modifications, such as no egg or add onions, with which they absolutely never comply (which is why I bumped off two stars).

This place is a good alternative to any of the food places on the NJIT and Rutgers campus. It's a bit of a walk from NJIT, but nothing unmanageable. If you're looking for some relatively cheap, good, and quick Thai food, this is a good option. I ordered the pad thai and a Thai iced tea. There's nothing special about the ambiance or look of the restaurant and I feel like it's pretty easy to overlook if you're in the area. I actually found out about the place from my RA, but I'm happy she introduced me because I'll definitely come back when I'm craving Thai.

I noticed they close early on Saturdays and aren't even open on Sunday's, which I sometimes find disappointing though.

Thai Cuisine Express is the name that appears on this establishment. Honestly can't remember the name of this dish, but it was a chicken dish with a curry/paste type of sauce, it was very tasty, well seasoned & a generous portion. I would say its moderately priced, $7.25 for lunch downtown Newark isn't bad. It's close to Rutgers so you can guess Parking is bad. My only complaint is that there were limited choices of food options. Would I go back?...,only if I'm in the neighborhood. Don't get me wrong the food was good, had a home/cooked taste, but it was good & filling, but not 5 stars to me. In conclusion, it taste better than it looks!

I still dream of the pad Thai from here...

I compare it other places I go. It's my golden standard. It's been nearly a year and a half since I graduated, and I miss this place SO much!! I should've gone more when I lived down the street... Oh, the regret.

My friend always got the different curries, and they were all good. We've also had the hot noodles. My go-to was always the good old pad Thai. And I never regretted it. I miss you H.O.T.

Thai tea is perfect! Steamed rice are good. Tom Yum Goong taste more like red curry soup, which is a little bit disappointing, but there are three shrimp in one 6 dollar soup is quite a surprise. Four stars in general.

TL;DR first: 4 stars for food, 2 for ambience

So the first floor of this joint looks like a regular janky takeout kitchen, but you can also order and take your food upstairs where there is a nicely painted room with tables. However, said upstairs floor also had a fly/mosquito hovering around which was very uncomfortable.

Tofu with peanut sauce was delicious, tofu with chili sauce was delicious, and Thai iced tea was delicious. A tad pricey, but I did have some left over.

Why did that much food take 30 mins to prepare on a Tuesday evening? I'm not sure.

I would love to have the food again, but I would order ahead of time and get it to go.

On this lovely Saturday afternoon, my husband and I wanted to get some Chinese food. The place we went to was closed, but we remembered we saw this Thai place when we were walking. We decided to give it a go!

The place is small, and you order from the take out menu. We placed our orders and sat at one of the tables. I got the massman curry with chicken and white rice, and my husband got one of the noodle dishes (forgot the name). When my food arrived, I took my spoon and tasted the curry sauce, it was great! What a flavor explosion!! I knew it was going to be a great meal!

We ate and ate, I was getting full but couldn't stop eating because it was so delightful. Together we paid $22 for 2 entrees and a bottled water. I'd say it was worth the money. We also had to wait 30 minutes for our food (there were a few customers before us), but it was totally worth the wait. I highly recommend, and know we will be visiting again!

This food is excellent!  I've been able to experiment what's on the menu.  My co workers and I enjoy the Thai Iced Tea!  My favorite dish is the Shrimp Choo Chee.  It was perfect!  You have to try!

Not the best I've had but far from the worst. Nice to have an ok Thai place near by and free delivery is always a huge plus.

I went there at lunch time on a Friday it was packed! It's buffet style. They run out of food so I had to wait for more to come out....it's not so bad when you are with good company. ...but if you are hungry it's not so nice.  After waiting 15-20mins I feasted on  pad-thai,fried rice, and the pad prig chicken ....worth the wait.....I will be going back and if you are not in a rush the food it's worth it!
