This past weekend, I ventured into Terra, nestled within the chic Hotel Zero Degrees in Danbury, Connecticut . This gem of a hotel houses an exceptional, upscale restaurant that boasts an extensive menu that will satisfy any food lover's palate .
Our appetizers set the bar pretty high. First up was the crispy buffalo cauliflower, adorned with micro celery and a decadent gorgonzola sour cream . The cauliflower struck the perfect balance - crispy without being overly fried, bursting with flavors that scored a delicious 9/10 on my scale. Next, we savored the gnocchi al forno, a heavenly blend of porcini mushroom cream, nduja (pork), and lemon breadcrumbs . The mushrooms effortlessly won my heart, earning an easy 10/10.
For our mains, we explored the hidden fjord salmon, accompanied by heirloom beans, Brussels sprouts, and a rich porcini and tomato sugo . While the sauce had a slightly off note, the salmon itself was impeccably cooked, meriting a 7/10. The 12 oz. C.A.B. strip steak, served with duck fat potatoes, mixed mushrooms, and sherry vinegar, was a carnivore's delight, perfectly medium-rare with a sauce that was nothing short of amazing . And let's not forget the special - fish tacos that were so delightful, I believe they deserve a permanent spot on the menu 9/10.
Dessert was a sweet finale with their strawberry shortcake in a cup and a luxurious chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream . Both desserts were a testament to indulgence, effortlessly meriting a 9/10 with their perfect pairings and depth of flavor.
For those with a penchant for espresso martinis, Terra's rendition, where the coffee taste is subtly masked, is an absolute must-try . Beyond the exquisite food, Terra's vibrant ambiance and extensive drink selection make it a must-visit spot .

After having many great dinners, tonight my meal was very disappointing. It was a dinner special of linguini fini with scallops and shrimp. The shrimp was tiny and mediocre. The light pink sauce was red like a marinara, and the linguine was such as a spaghetti. It was very disappointing.
My husbands boneless short ribs were delicious and his drink special, "Smoke on the Water"
Which was a jalapeño tequila, coconut cream, and lime was outstanding.
Ambience is always great and the service is wonderful. People are very friendly and accommodating.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 20, 2024
Food was good. Service was fast and attentive. Some healthy options that were good. The salads intrigued us but I couldn't handle the price in order to try one. The ambiance is spacious and relaxing. Which is hard to achieve. I Will definitely go again esp for a lunch date.

Went to Terra 2 birthdays, we were a party of 10. We sat at the bar for a round of cocktails, they were really good specialty drinks. Moved to a table for apps and dinner. We ended up sharing everything so many apps and all yummy. The girls shared Halibut - out of this world(I would go back just for that), pasta purses with mushrooms amazing and NY strip cooked perfectly. The men had their own shares, I'd be lying if I said I paid attention lol.
The place is really nice and inviting, great place to hang out. We will be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 20, 2023
Terra is a vibe. Large windows, open kitchen, chic booths and an island bar make the stylish restaurant feel spacious and breathe-able.
I went with my family for a birthday lunch one Sunday afternoon, only to learn that the lunch menu isn't served on Sunday, only brunch. I am the type of person who has a good idea of what they're going to eat before even stepping foot into a restaurant, so I really had to pivot here! Luckily, I'm adaptable and ended up ordering 3 items one of which I had chosen during my menu foreplay hours before.
The portions are great, I like to order a bunch and share. I really enjoyed the halloumi salad, together with the purse pasta and chicken Milanese, made for a great family size meal for one ! The rest of my family ordered burgers. We are familiar with the brand, because we get them ordered to our home, it's high quality beef and absolutely delicious.
The service was great, attentive, friendly staff, who were patient with me and my indecision. Our waiters made cocktail recommendations that i enjoyed. And made sure my cup was always full !Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Matt W.Moreno Valley, CA14156139Mar 23, 2024
We live in Beacon and shop Whole Foods in Danbury.
We were looking for a place for lunch, and discovered Terra on Yelp.
It's located inside a hotel and is 5 minutes off 84. Easy access and plenty of parking.
My wife likes salads and liked my arugula salad with pears, peanuts, and goat cheese so much so exchanged her soup for it. (The manager was gracious enough to allow the exchange)
Her veggie burger was exceptional.
The salmon was light and tasty.
It was pouring rain so we couldn't sit outside this time, but we will definitely be back and will take advantage of it.
Definitely better than going to franchise restaurants by Whole Foods.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 12, 2024
Great restaurant inside a mediocre hotel. This restaurant, located inside the Hotel Zero Degrees in Danbury, Connecticut, is by far one of the best restaurants in the area. I ate here every night during a recent business, and I must have tried every entrée on their Italian influenced menu, nothing disappointed. The food was delicious and not overpriced, the service was as expected, and the drinks had a generous pour. Pedro introduced himself to me the first night and guided me every evening through the menu, suggesting what to try and what to avoid based on my criteria. The wine list was ample, by the glass and bottle. I will definitely be coming back, a great experience overall.

Great experience with friend. Very nice service, ambience and food. It would be great on their patio in warmer weather so we will return them to try it out. If in this area again I will surely return. It is connected to a hotel but seems to be quite independently and successfully run.

Nasty service. (We were in front of that sign) We waited at the front while servers passed us and didn't even recognize us. My wife and I stood there for a few minutes as server after server just looked at us and kept it moving. Disgrace to the human race.
