Teriyaki Grill

Wow what a great place to eat!!  This is not your normal Teriyaki Grill. So don't let the outside fool you, inside is a special treat.  We walked in and they were so friendly to include a couple of their regulars, who recommended everything on the menu. 

I ordered the Mekishiko Taco which has seared ahi tuna and the Esteban Taco with steak.  Wow!  The tacos are small, so you need more then one but the flavors in these little tacos are delicious.  The hubby got Steve's Steak Sandwich and it was amazing.  The portion size is a normal size so don't plan on sharing a plate.  

The staff was very friendly and the place was clean.  Parking on 3rd ave can be tricky, so you might need to walk a block or two.  

Pay attention to their hours, they close at 8 and aren't open on Sundays. So if you are like us and fell in love with their food on a Saturday and were talking about getting food from them again on Sunday, you and I will have to wait until Monday.

Great food with good portions. Bento boxes are a strong recommend. The tuna starter was a little spicy in a good way, and was eaten so quickly.

We went in for a mid-week lunch and were happy to stumble on this place!

Friendly staff, delicious food. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu.

Ceviche is a must. The teriyaki bowl was really good as well. Had the Bulgogi a different time and it was good as well, not the best but still very good.

Food never disappoints. Plus the service is great. Chill spot for sure. Highly recommended

I decided to stop by to get a to go order after a meeting. The inside is really cute with the hanging plants. There is a good amount of seating. They offer QR ordering at table side which should help with long lines. The food cost seems reasonable. The only issue I have is the weight time. It look 30+ min to get my to go order. It would be smart to call ahead and place your order if you are ins hurry.

Amazing joint in Chula Vista ...I haven't been here is a few years and the owner/chef remembered my order. This sandwich is super simple (steak and chimichurri) but I still dream about it

Great food, good prices, friendly staff.  Ordered the Esteban Torta and the teriyaki beef, delicious !!! Will go again and highly recommend

Been to this restaurant on numerous occasion. Each time the service is BAD. usually the same server. In the past I have asked several times for ice in my water and I usually get one piece. I will say today after using my husband's ice for my first glass, she did give me ice in my second. Asked the server for straws. She helped another customer and then started talking to someone in the kitchen and never returned. I walked up to the counter and had to ask again. She seemed bothered by it.  Came by once, never asked if we wanted refills on drinks.

Got our meals 5 minutes apart. I don't get this. There was just two of us and not many people at the place. They did have some to go orders but this has happened before. Please bring our dishes out together. Husband said the Steve sandwich was bland. I got the pork banh mi, which was too sweet. Salad portion was much smaller than the past.

Customer service was fine, place was clean, but food was decent in my opinion. It also tastes fresh.

Pre-COVID time, a male friend & I ordered dinner at Teriyaki Grill.  Service & food was enjoyable. The bill was paid with a 20% gratuity.
I paid another visit to the restaurant, alone.
This time, the same waitress continually visited my table (more than the usual refreshing the water glass) with comments like "Good job!" & other subtle comments to encourage a finish to the meal, pay and quickly leave the premises.
I felt as if I invaded a "certain" space without the escort.
Haven't been there since.
