I've received an eye exam and purchased two prescription glasses from Dr. Lui's office. That said, I'll be taking my business elsewhere due to the unprofessional customer service.

I'd like to separate the doctor from the staff but based on similar reviews from other I can't imagine a reputable doctor trying to run a professional practice that's being represented by such low-grade, juvenile staff, and not resolving the issue.

I came in the other day to inquire if I was eligible for my free annual pair of prescription lenses through my insurance. Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of dealing with the barely functioning mute of a salesperson that was working the floor. After bringing up my info, she informed me that I was eligible to receive another pair of glasses. Great.

However, out of curiosity, I asked if she could explain how that provision worked (i.e. calendar year, year from last purchase, et cetera). She informed me it's based on "date of service." Now, I was 95% sure what she meant when she said that, but I asked her to clarify. With great disdain in her tone she simply repeated herself "it's date of service."

I was annoyed to say the least. I cut her off, thanked her and left. When I got back to my office and thought about it for a moment, I thought there's no way Dr. Lui would want someone like this representing her practice, so I called back the office and asked for the salesperson's name that I had just dealt with so I could inform the doctor. Here's the kicker, the person on the phone informed me "it's against their policy to give out private information." Mind you, I didn't ask for the person's last name, home address, email, et cetera. I simply asked for the person's name so I could properly identify her to Dr. Liu. This of course is complete nonsense (so do the sales reps give you fake names when you're in the office? Of course not); they simply didn't want to be reported to the doctor.

This office is closed. The doctor retired. If you can the number, it goes to a different optometrist, but they don't tell you until you show up at the start up that is there instead then have to walk 10min to a different optometrist.

I selected Dr Lui's office for glasses fitting since it's near my home.
My experience with Karen, the optometrist was unpleasant, but we went through to completion of the transaction.
When I came back to pick up the glasses, again I encountered the same rude attitude.

I would definitely not recommend this office to my friends.

It's so important to realize the role that good diet, sleep, and limiting screen time outside of work, play when it comes to good eye health. I much prefer to go outdoors after work than to continue to stare at a computer screen.

This is one practice that does more than just check to see if you need new glasses. Teresa Liu is wonderful. Not only does she do a regular prescription exam but she checks for eye health as well.

Everyone is helpful and friendly, things are well explained, everything is kept clean during the coronavirus. The staff knows all about the plans like VSP, and what is covered. They carefully wipe the sample glasses after each use during the pandemic. Visits are by appointment to avoid any problem with crowding.
There are many nice frames and lenses are available in the best modern types.

Someone else commented below, but their younger receptionist is very rude and uncooperative.

The optometrist made mistake with my daughter's prescription, as well.

We will not be going there again.

Karen went above and beyond to process my prescription sunglasses through insurance. This was remarkable as my husband and I did not have vision insurance when I initially walked in today and ordered the sunglasses. I added the insurance after I got home, called Karen to let her know the insurance effective date was today and she offered to cancel the initial charge snd to re- the numbers. Amazingly, we received the emailed receipt hours later that showed that insurance covered more than half of the total cost. This made a huge impact and was definitely superb customer service.

Dr Lui was referred to me by a friend. I was concerned of the floater and want to have my eyes checked. She did the traditional eye exam with dilation and scanned with Optmap. She did not find anything abnormal, however, I had a retinal tear two weeks after seeing her. I think she could have seen something back then. That is also the reason I waited a day before I saw the ophthalmologist after I saw the shadow. Seeing her gave me false confidence in my eye.
Do not trust optometrist with eye exam, all they can do is eyeglasses prescription.

Prompt service with appointment to pick up frames that had prescription corrected. They adjusted the fit to make it comfortable for me.
