Amazing ramen - we come here all the time and they never disappoint. Onigiri and gyoza are also excellent!

Really solid ramen shop. Affordable and delicious, the two most important qualities I look for in any restaurants. Their signature terakawa ramen is a must. Broth is not overwhelming, actually on the lighter end. I always appreciate an egg with a runny yolk. Their char siu is also very tender and melts in your mouth, not overly charred and tough like other ramen places. Highly recommend this ramen stall if you are in Chinatown.
Service is also on point. I came during prime dinner time and there was already a long line. I probably waited only about 10-15min before seated. The customer turnover rate here is fast. They serve their food quick and customers finish quick as well. If you are not with a large party, you will definitely get seated pretty quick even during prime dinner time.

Walk in and enter your name:party size in the kiosk to join the waitlist
Setting is busy, little elbow room and casual.
Food: Very authentic Japanese - we started with the spicy Edamame which are seasoned perfectly and laid atop of a roasted same soy sauce and fried Gyoza which was also very tasty. The ramen was exceptional. We tried Mayu ( Spicy ) the chicken Miso (Spicy) and the Spicy Ramen with a side of chili oil. Spice level was perfect. We did wind up adding a tiny bit of the chili oil toward the end to bump that flavor back up.
Would love to return to try the potatoes croquettes, Takoyaki and Karaage Chicken - 7284210Nov 27, 2023
This place was great!! Debated on my choice of ramen to pick from but I ended up dining in instead! The miso ramen was great- I asked for it spicy which was even better!! Easily would come back here on a chilly day to enough some yummy ramen! I sat bar side and service was quick and efficient!

Food: There are few things better than a bowl of Terakawa ramen in the fall and winter and Terakawa should be on your list in Philly. I've tried a few of their ramens and struggled to choose my favorite. The miso ramen was rich and flavorful and heat of broth can be adjusted to your liking.
Service: You have to go inside and put your name down on the Yelp waitlist usually. They send you a text when your table is ready. Servers are helpful in making decisions and it is prompt.
Ambiance: Very lively, small restaurant. Hole in the wall in Chinatown but has authenticity to it.
Would I go back? I have been multiple times and will go back again to get my ramen fix in the city!

FOOD
I ordered the Terakawa signature ramen while my friend ordered the cutlet curry. My ramen bowl was big with great toppings, and the broth was rich and smooth. Definite more than enough for one sitting.
My friend's curry, however, had a couple of hairs in the curry, making her experience less enjoyable despite the dish being initially delicious.
SERVICE
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon (~3 pm) and entered our name and phone number into the queue on the tablet at the storefront. Despite multiple parties before us, we were seated in less than 15 minutes.
The staff were kind and friendly and were attentive to all the tables.
AMBIANCE
The store can get quite busy during peak hours, but the wait time isn't too long. The interior is decorated vibrantly, and the casual conversations flowing throughout the restaurant make for a lively atmosphere.
PARKING
Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity. However, I would recommend parking outside of Chinatown due to how busy the roads can get and the narrow spaces of the parking spots.

Recommended by a work friend as I was going back to Philly for a conference. Had the regular tonkotsu ramen and the chashu was very delicious. Service was very quick and staff were very attentive and helpful. Wait can be a while as it's busy, but can get out quickly. Right next door to Matcha Panda cafe where I stopped by later for dessert. Would definitely come again.

Was in town for the weekend and immediately looked up a Ramen spot. We decided on Terakawa Ramen in Chinatown. It's small, intimate, but nicely decorated. The service was good, friendly staff, and knowledgeable. The food was mediocre. The Karaage Chicken was just fried chicken, no seasoning, very bland. The Terakawa ramen was broth was ok, but the pork and very chewy. I was underwhelmed, not terrible but not good. I would try another ramen spot whenever I'm back in town.
