They won't forget to tell you but this is 100% a skiers mountain. Whether that's because of the hill itself or just the mass amount of skiers. Many great people but you will have a problem if you are a snowboarder. Seems like I'm making it up but the boomer skiers are 100% racist against snowboarders and in extreme cases they will cut in front of you maliciously. But don't let that stop you frick those boomers.
And no joke they will all tell you "the back of the hill is best for snowboarding" and that is just to get you away from them.
They will also say "it's too hard for a snowboarder" but they all travel at tops 7 mph.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 29, 2023
The best experience. They have a free enclosed gondola that takes you up to Mountain Village. Everyone we met was so hospitable, helpful, and nice. My daughter loved her instructors and had the best time learning from them. They even have a hot chocolate station and pass out giant fresh baked cookies in the late afternoon. There are staff greeting and chatting with people outside which is a higher touch. We loved our experience and would like to visit again soon.

Leaving a glowing review to tell the entire world that if they need adult/kid ski lessons please SPECIFICALLY request Bob Wargowsky. He was an incredible ski instructor, best I have had in my life and words do not do him justice. I had never taken a ski lesson in my life, was legitimately scared to ski, and Bob immediately made me feel safe, confident, and through his guidance I actually had fun! His demeanor, his stories, and his expertise (previously ranked 5th in the U.S.) make you confidentially feel like you are learning from an expert. I was a part of a group of beginner skiers but his attention made it feel like I was taking a private lesson. If you go to Telluride for lessons PLEASE make the only choice and take a lesson with Bob! I never leave reviews and am leaving one now because that's just how incredible my experience was!! Thank you Bob!!

I can't speak highly enough of the instructors associated with our zip lining and mountain biking experiences, as well as the fun you will have with this company doing one or the other, or both like we did. This group is top-notch, well trained and very personable.
For zip lining, Eric, Ingrid and Birdy were our instructors that morning. They helped us get into our gear, properly instructed us on how to zip line and worked as a team throughout the process to insure we had a fun and safe experience. We zip lined from various platforms, repelled down some and walked across bridges to other platforms. We had so much fun laughing and sharing the morning with all three and the various lines allowed you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mountain Village.
In the afternoon, Matt was our personal instructor for mountain biking. He gave as a precise, nearly two hour training experience since this was our initial attempt at mountain biking. He was patient, had us run various drills and instilled confidence in us before we went on one of the beginner's course (Tommyknocker). Matt then lead us through the course, stopped at various locations to make sure we were ok to continue and gave us instructions on what we would experience on the path forward. Although Matt works mostly in the office, we were so lucky to get him this afternoon as our instructor. He was amazing!
What a full and fun day experiencing the beauty of Mountain Village! Thank you Telluride Ski and Golf!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 9, 2022
Telluride Ski Resort is a fantastic ski resort nestled perfectly in the mountains! The views can be summed up in three words -- "OH MY GOD!" Simply stunning with 360 degree views overlooking Mountain Village and the mountains pictured on the Coors Light cans/bottles.
Over the entire weekend, lines never got very long and the trails were all well groomed and VERY well marked with plenty of trail maps as you exit the lifts, so you always are in the know of where you are and can easily figure out where you're headed! And if information is what you're seeking, then be sure to download their app -- it provides everything from the number of groomed trails open, lifts running, and up-to-the minute weather!
Due to its location, you're likely to get some fresh powder during your stay... and even with that fresh powder, runs never got very crowded.
The always-free gondola takes you over the mountain from Mountain Village to Downtown Telluride! This is a year-round destination, so when skiing is out of season, then be sure to visit to do some hiking and other outdoor activities!
Restrooms are plenty and were always clean. And my only interaction with their ticket office was super positive... and all of the staff are friendly and informative, ready to answer questions, provide pro tips, and make sure you spend as much of your day skiing as you can!
I simply cannot wait to return.

I do not recommend Telluride skiing for any intermediate, beginner, or family ski destination. I booked a trip mid-December and was very disappointed to travel so far only to find less than a handful of green runs open. Blue runs are very difficult!! I was advised and encouraged by ski patrol to not attempt. This left me with only two ski runs I could ski. Call it being uneducated in ski trips, but I was disappointed in Telluirde Ski's complete lack of compassion in regard to offering a refund for my second ski day. They could have offered me a refund and left with a happy customer at zero consequence to them but instead they declined. I skied one run over, and over and over and over for an insane price and left feeling very angry, sad, disappointed, and surly not returning to Telluride.

This was once a great place. I have been coming to Telluride for 35 years. Today, this place has gone from 5 stars to nearly 3 stars.
People's attitudes that work on the mountain are bad, surly, and unhappy.
Lifts stop constantly or are out of service.
Town has lost any personality it once possessed, and today is BORING at best. After 35 years, I doubt I will return, since it now costs the same as other better places to go and spend one's money.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linnea T.Bozeman, MT086Jan 6, 2023
I had high expectations that were unfortunate not met. The mountain was very steep and unsafe and the snow way so deep we could not move. Do not come here!!!

This is a fantastic resort - probably the best one in CO in terms of almost equal number of trail options for all levels and abilities. The mountain is very easy to navigate, and overall, trail markings are quite accurate - greens are greens, blues are blues, and no surprises on groomed blacks or the all black wide open back bowls. However, for intermediates some ungroomed double blues might be harder than some groomed blacks - we've encountered some very steep ones and some with moguls half way down - the main difference between these double blues and single blacks seems to be the trail length but not the pitch.
The resort is relatively uncrowded especially during the week when there are no lift lines anywhere - you can practically ski all the way up to the chair. Weekends is busier and there might be 40-50 people in line at the lower lifts, which was the case while we were there starting on the Friday before the President's day weekend. When that happens the best place for intermediates to go would be the Prospect Bowl (lift #12) which is never crowded and has a huge wide open area dotted with clusters of trees - all green and blue - ski all over wherever you want (the only catch being to get to the green you have to go on a rather narrow, hard packed, and sometimes busy traverse (Galloping Goose - a double green - the kind that's hard to slow down on). Another fun place for intermediates is the Enchanted Forest from Lift #10 - dense but nice and easy tree skiing!
Not a lot of big restaurants on the mountain aside from Gorrono's which is centrally located so a good place for groups to meet up. A few smaller food shacks higher up with better views. On a warm day the Mountain Village Base outdoor plaza area has a fire pit and plenty of seating with many food carts offering inexpensive quick eats.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 26, 2019
Telluride Colorado has some of the most beautiful ski trails from beginner to advanced. The scenic views truly are breathtaking on a clear day. That being said...
They say it's like riding a bicycle, but when I skied in my adolescence we didn't wear helmets. A lot is still the same, but it isn't like riding a bicycle when your friend makes a wrong turn. I'm glad I was wearing a helmet!
If you haven't skied in over 20 years, you might want to stay away from the black diamond runs. Feeling adventurous and like taking your life into your own hands, suck it up and head down the mountainside, black diamond be dammed! My friend accidentally took me on The Plunge my first day skiing. I was doing okay until my speed increased like a pine cone derby car down a track with just the right amount to graphite on the wheels. I was ass over tea kettle and sliding for what felt like forever. I even thought, "This is a much easier way to make it down the steep grade and maybe I'll just lay here and enjoy the fluffy snow." Even with the sound of my rib cracking it was better than trying to manipulate the moguls and fluffy precipice of the mountain.
I wish I would have realized my iPhone had dislodged from my body during the tumble like a theft prying a precious gem from a crown; The Plunge stole it!
After collecting my wayward ski and doing some 4-7-8 breathing (thank you Dr. Weil) I regained my composure. Once again I started down the mountain a bit more cautiously. Thwack, I hit the ground again and again like a pin ball machine being played at a college dormitory. Each time I'd fall it was a little easier, and once I made it to the bottom of the run I was elated! I conquered The Plunge and The Bushwhacker. My friend apologized profusely for accidentally taking me on that run, but then I realized I didn't have my phone.
The feeling you have without your phone is devastating. My American Express and my work identification are also snuggled inside like two little bird eggs in a protective case. We had to do The Plunge again! Again. I didn't want to do it the first time! Back and forth I went down this black diamond... my legs quivering and my hands shaking trying to remember everyplace my posterior had kissed the mountainside while looking for my phone. I fell again and again as fatigue wore in.
My friend decided to call my phone and a ski instructor answered; she had found the phone and said she would leave it at the lift at the TOP of the mountain. Have you ever been both elated and devastated at the same time? I could do little circles of happy dances knowing my phone was safe, but lord almighty, to the top of the mountain I had to go again? Okay. Breath 4-7-8 again and again.
We made it to the top of the mountain and my friend collected my phone from the staff like a momma bird guards her egg. "You'll get it when we make it to the bottom" he said, with a sad look on his face. The look in his sky-blue eyes was all it took. He knew I was exhausted and my right ribs were aching from striking the side of the mountain numerous time like you'd break eggs in a skillet for breakfast.
We made it down the correct side of the mountain, but by then I was worn out like a used paper plate that had sopped up too much salad dressing. I was done.
The staff were great, glad I got back my phone. You'll enjoy your stay in Telluride as long as your backside doesn't kiss the mountain too many times!
