Tried a new pho place out and probably should've stuck to original plan. Nothing worse then pho noodles that are stuck together. The broth was ok, a bit on the sweet side. Friends liked the avocado and strawberry shakes.
Service was aright, they overcharged a little but gave it back. Good thing is that they have a parking lot. Clean bathroom.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 126231500Oct 23, 2018
If you are In the area, come give this place a try!
Most delicious food ever!! I have tried several of the dishes they are pretty amazing.
Rice dishes are pretty big and the meat is very tasty. Pho is pretty good. My favorite is #14.
It is a dish with dry noodles... everything about this dish is amazing. The flavor, the ingredients, the fresh of their products and it is a dish you can't find in many Vietnamese restaurants.
The restaurant has its own parking lot which is super convenient.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Apr 9, 2018
Great addition for this noodle connoisseur!
Haven't been here since it was Ao Sen, so that has been years. They repaved the back parking lot and revamped the inside. It looks SOO much better! It's open, bright, and very inviting. U liked before when it was dark ans dingy.
It was quite busy for a Monday. Almost all the tables were taken. There were only about 4 open tables, and my party was seated at 1 of them.
Service was decent. Much better than I expected from an Asian restaurant in this area. I can tell the workers were really trying to give the best service they could in the circumstance.
We ordered:
Spring rolls- a little smaller than most places. The shrimp they use is different and a little bigger than most, but you don't get shrimp in the last few bites at the end of the rolls. Sauce is thinner than I'm use to as well. Overall the flavor was still good. I'd order spring rolls again.
Hu tieu nam vang (dry)- This is the only place in the area (that I know of) who serves it dry. I'm a sucker for dry noods! I really enjoyed it. I would've loved it even more if it came with a fried egg. I'll try and request it next time.
Hu tieu nam vang- I tend to order this even at pho restaurants. I like the clear chewy noodles better for some reason. The broth was full of flavor! I love that they gave us our own chinese celery to add to our liking. This might be my new go to spot for this now.
Bun rieu- this item was not on the menu. It was posted as their special for the day by the register. Glad we saw the paper because it was pretty decent. Probably the next best thing to home made bun rieu! I only say that because a lot of restaurants tend to skimp on the flavor when it comes to this broth. It usually tastes watered down. Not here, so I would also order this again.
Food took REALLY LONG to come. At most noodle spots, the normal time to get your food after you place your order is about 5-15 minutes. We probably had to wait a good 30 minutes until we got our food.
Food was good! Only downfall... my friends felt that they gave a really small amount of noodles. I felt that it was fine because I can never finish my noodles anyways, but I did finish it here. I'm sure a lot of other people would agree and prefer more noodles, especially for the price. Price point is a couple dollars more than the other noodle houses in the area.
I'll definitely come back, but not as frequent as I go back to the other ones (at least 1 time a week).Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Apr 19, 2018
Tasty Pho is the latest in the interations this building has gone through since Pho Ao Sen moved down the street a few years back (at least New King and Ao Sen Express that I can remember). I read it's specialty is Hu Tieu Nam Vang (HTNV), which also was New King's.
And though they share HTNV with New King, the menu is less ambitous with no Chinese BBQ or Banh Mi (despite the decal remnant in the window) with a handful of starters and mains of pho, hu tieu / mi (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=tnrU-6wrxBCUr9-PRSth_Q), bun (including Bun Bo Hue), and rice plate dishes (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=uon4ZsobixzZ0RUyT_8yWQ)
I got the #14, Hu Tieu Nam Vang Kho (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=e2tYQDo_jakab3-Vc_dG8Q&userid=DsHsuhUvyyW_75zFcJxkKw) which has the broth on the side (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=o1Q-EuoX5gulQp-lf9mZrg) and a garnish plate of sprouts, celery, cilantro, lemon wedge and jalapeno slices (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=9MuXJXxShuhpNREsRNuwgQ)
Ok, technically I got Hu Tieu Mi Nam Vang with a mix of egg (mi) and rice (hu tieu) noodles which had a decent chew to them (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=pazBzjd-cXe1Ve3w6ZXp-w) I enjoyed the pops of flavor from the toasted shallots and bits of crisp skin (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=y8nsOW6tCZh2Qg2t_bncjQ). Disappointing was that there was only one prawn (3 in menu photo) & piece of squid (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=I830acMWyj9tg40HNdR6AA), plus the broth was very light in flavor (some chicken broth blended?) though the piece of neck bone is a nice touch (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=DxH6f5VXTLFSzS9YnUiubQ)
POS price ($11.95 https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=dS-tsOFndzo4cOsVFUMl8A) doesn't match menu ($10.95 https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/tasty-pho-oakland?select=tnrU-6wrxBCUr9-PRSth_Q) so take a close look at the bill before you pay.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 12, 2018
Tasty Pho, not only has a good name, but has potential. They just opened on March 9th, 2018 and the food and customer service has been presentable.
The menu is really nice and simple; definitely limited, but it has your everyday noodle, vermicelli and rice plates. Eventually they will expand their menus hopefully and completing with the restaurant's interior, but for now, if you just have a quick craving for Vietnamese food, you can swing by at this location! Good thing is that there is a parking lot, so you don't have to circle the block for a space.
The reason why I gave this location a 4/5 is because the cleanliness and the pho bo's soup base quality. When I grabbed a pair of chopstick out of the holder, it was really dusty; my table wasn't cleaned, but probably someone has just left that table.
I would definitely come back again once their restaurant gets all settled in.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nhi T.Oakland, CA34208Feb 14, 2019Updated review

The rice plate is delicious! #25 is full of proteins and deliciousness! ThHighly recommend. Interior is clean and new tables plus chairs compared to the prior business. A little pricier compared to the other restaurants on international, but good amount for the cost. I've tried the hu tieu nam Vang ( dried ) and it's pretty good with the soup on the side. Small little parking in the back! Nice little family own restaurant. Take both cards and cash. Highly recommend!

I came in like may be 5-10 minutes before they close and they still let me eat in here, well there were also other people that came in last minute like me too.
I had their hu tieu nam van. It came out pre-sauced which made it semi slimy like many other places. The noodle was not bad, and I was hungry at the time so it was enjoyable. The ingredients that they used were really good though; the pork slice was tender and sweet, they did not have heart and kidney, but the liver that they have was sooooo good, it was lightly pink in the center, Soo tender, and sooo flavorful, I love it. The ground pork was nothing special, I have never care for this, shrimp was not bad.
For the side, they have chrysanthemum green which was interesting, there was some small stalks of celery which was quite enjoyable with the noodle. Add a couple piece of lime juice and it was perfect.
It also came with a side of soup, with some pork meat. I thought the broth was not bad, but I did not had the time to eat the meat because I was about to go to work.
Overall all, I thought the meal was good, service was nice, and the tea was not rotten so I would definitely be coming back again. This is a rather late review so I don't remember the price though.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 26, 2018
Tasty Pho is where New King was. back parking lot repaved, refenced.
interior clean, bright, no flies ala previous biz.

eats: Bun Ho Hue (10.95)
-lots of spicy, tasty broth
-small assortment of gan pieces, pork blood, chicken/pork/beef slices, pork loaf,
-no pig feet nor a lot of noodles.
-lots of raw veggies, broth had slight msg taste.
-not a good value comparatively, 3.5 stars
foodnotes:
-saw "vietnamese sandwich" on back window,
didn't see it on menu.
-noodle portion small, soup tasty.
-10%off opening 3/9-?
-entrance from parking lot, not front door.
-service average.Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Gigi N.Oakland, CA23932Apr 14, 2018Updated review
Edited: Came back for the same dish (#14) because I was craving for some! But the dish was not as good as the first time I tried. It was kinda bland so I had to add more soy sauce to have more taste, and the broth was as well!! I miss the first one that I had, soo good! So that's why I took off 1 star :( maybe it's just a bad day? Well, gonna come back and try again, hope they will improve the dish!
Came for their house special hu tieu nam vang and it was delicious! I got #14 which was dry hu tieu nam vang with clear noodles, it can also be served with egg noodles or pho noodles. There was plenty of meats inside, the broth on the side was clean and tasty with a piece of pork bone. This place is clean, staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely come back to try more dishHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 23, 2018Previous reviewCame for their house special hu tieu nam vang and it was delicious!
