For me going through the car buying process is scary. Recently an immoral person hit my car in the middle of the night and then ran. I woke up to a smashed car and a feeling of dread knowing I was going to have to go car shopping. After doing some research on line I ended up at Tansky Sawmill Toyota and I was greeted by Ricardo Vazquez. I let him know that I was there to just test drive a particular Toyota. He quickly pulled the truck around and handed me the keys. When I came back he greeted me. I handed him the keys back and thanked him. He never made me feel pressured or apprehensive. It took me a week to really figure out what I wanted to do. I reached out to Ricardo via e-mail very early in the morning, well before the car lot was open and he immediately responded. I met with him again at the dealership and he made me feel comfortable. I never felt forced into anything. I actually left after our second meeting still not purchasing a truck because I wanted to see one other truck I had seen online at another dealership. Ricardo said he totally understood. The next day I made the decision to go with the truck at Tansky, I again reached out to Ricardo via e-mail. Not only did he immediately responded but he headed in to work on his day off to get my paperwork started. He was so kind, understanding, and helpful. I felt extremely taken care of. I also have to mention Stephen King (yes that is his real name) my finance guy. He was absolutely phenomenal in walking me through the entire money side of the car buying process. I am completely thrilled with my new Toyota Tacoma and my experience at Tansky Sawmill Toyota. They are replacing a couple of things for me. They said they would call me to set up a time. I plan on giving an update via Yelp on how this process goes too.

Update:  I want to report that Tansky did indeed fix the two items on the truck that they had promised. I only called once to inquire about the status of a part and I actually received a call later that day to set up an appointment. The only negative I have to say is that it seems to the customer that the sales department and the service center are two totally different companies.  They do not seem to communicate or work together as a team. For example when arriving for my second appointment to get the second item fixed the gentleman that checked me in said "are you sure you are suppose to be here".  Even though he told me my first name and could see my appointment.  Then he said "well who is going to pay for this, sales isn't going to pay us".  I don't think that those words should have been said to the actual customer. That is for behind closed doors with other staff members. I often find that some companies get so big that they forget they are all one team and it seems that has happened at Tansky. I would still give them 5 stars when evaluating my entire experience because Ricardo and Stephen were so amazing and my truck did get the repairs I was promised.

So much to say. First off I have been coming here for years but recently their service department has really been a huge let down.

    Last experience...

Came in to get a routine oil change and mike check up. Asked for a rental So I could make it to work. As I was waiting a mechanic came up
And told the guy helping me out that the last rental
They had available had a flat tire. I figured it was a quick fix. They then informed me that the oil
Change would take as long as it would to fix the tire and they would put me up
First to get me out.... 2.5 hours later and late for work my car is done and I pay for the oil
Change and the "took care of the rental"
I called the customer service guy and he was very nice and let's me know my next visit is on them.

    Fast forward to today...

My oil change light comes on and I get online to schedule my appointment. I have a late start to my day so i schedule my appointment for 7:45 am and say i will wait. Today (Monday)i come in to drop my car off talk to the guy who had called to apologize for my wait and rectify what had happened. He says they will take care of everything today, awesome great! I leave the service counter around 7:50 and it is now 11 am and I am still waiting for my car, no one has notified me about anything that is going on. I have seen multiple people come and leave who got here after me.

I'm a forgiving person but 2 times in a row is careless. My Toyota is only a 2012 and well taken care of. I have always made it a point to go to dealerships but this will be the last time
I visit this location. If you are looking for friendly service, they are great. Efficient and detail oriented? Not at all.

    ***Update****

After watching another person leave who had come in a fair amount of time after me I asked my service coordinator If my car was going to be done soon. As soon as he walked out he walked back in and informed me my car was done too. I gathered my stuff and headed to check out. I asked does it usually take this long for oil changes? "No we have a 145 appointments today with only 4 people working, you know Monday's and how people don't want to show up to work" After that answer I knew I had nothing nice to say so I kindly left to get my car. Got to my car and the keys were missing...walked back inside and left. Sorry Tansky, you lost a loyal customer today.

Got my car taken in to get its 100,000 mile tune up. The service was quick (it only took a few days). But I was told that the service department would be open until 8PM on Friday from the man I talked to over the phone. And after I had someone drive me all the way to sawmill road at 6:30PM to pay for my super expensive repair and pick up my car, I was told (by a very unsympathetic man might I add) that the service department closed at 6 and they'll see me another day.

I don't even know if my car was repaired correctly yet--I'm still waiting to go back and pick it up some other day.

I'm just very upset that I had someone drive me around just to be turned away because someone gave me the wrong information.

Want to get the run around-- come here! I came in because my car wouldn't start after the fob came off of my key. I had my car towed in because they said I could just get a new fob since it came off evenly. I get in and they tell me I have to pay $200 for a new key! For a $200 CAMRY.

I express my disappointment to my wife and someone hears me leaving with an attitude because I had just paid for my car to get towed over because "how would we know if works if you don't bring the car too?" -Said man on phone.

So, I finally tell someone else at another service desk my problem, they disappear with my key and come back in about 10 minutes and it worked! They just put the key back in the fob as expected. Frustrating but I wish they'd have tried harder to solve my simple problem.  Not sure if I'd go back though. Service seems inconsistent.

Went in to the service department  Saturday around 12:45 .Walked through to the parts department. The small sign read "please ring bell and wait at counter someone will be with you soon" well I rang the bell and waited for about 15 minutes many Tansky employees waked right past me and not one even said "hi". You would think that at least they would say "hi can I help you" or maybe "has anyone helped you yet" Nope NOTHING. So then I walked over to the service area and stood there for about 5 minutes and waited on service people to help. They were some what busy but not too busy to check their status on there phones, so I moved on . Sad they lost the opportunity to make money and leave a great impression on a person. They failed at both.

The owner's response below didn't answer my concern at all. I'm little irritated that instead of responding to my issues she replied with a sales pitch (our no haggle guarantee). Which is what I dealt with during my experience with Tanksy, just beating around the bush to make you try avoid using your brain and make a logical purchase, sales pitch, sales pitch, sales pitch.

My problem wasn't with any haggling, my problem was just trying to figure out the basics like getting the cost and other amounts of money for a car I was considering leasing or buying. I'm glad I didn't buy, I bought from Chesrown in Delaware Ohio and the experience was 100x better, definitely worth the extra driving distance to Delaware.

At Tanksy though I didn't get any help when I walked in the door, there were four people standing around two receptionists all just hanging out and talking and they didn't say a word to me. The contact center employee and the salesperson, although they were both very nice, kept dodging basic, hard-business, questions about things like pricing so they could get me more and more invested in buying something and keep their sales pitch going on forever. Which is just a common sales tactic with cars, if you stay and commit a lot of time you'll be exhausted and fed up with all the shopping and won't want that time to be wasted after staying for two or three hours and just say "ahh screw it, lets just buy the car".

That's not how sales and the experience of dealing with a salesperson and a business has to be like, believe me. Aaron from Chesrown in Delaware was an absolute pleasure to work with and buy from. I wasn't happy after the two and a half hours at Tansky.

There comes a time in a young adults life where they are faced with the scary reality of leasing a new car. With most dealerships out there, they try to scam you and not educate you on what your looking at and what payments will be.

That is untrue of Tansky Sawmill Toyota. My Dealer Christian Schenk has not only offered me amazing deals, but has walked me through every step of the way on what I'm getting and what I need to know as a young adult. I've never felt more excited about not only the amazing warranty plans offered by Toyota, but the care they take while having the cars on the lot. I have never been more excited to get in my new car and start driving.

If you're looking but don't know what you're looking for, or about care and payment plans if you're new to this like I was, I urge you to stop in and sit down with their product specialists. You will not be pressured into anything you don't want, but rather educated and treated highly as a customer. I won't have to worry about anything going with this dealership, and I expect to be seeing them for many years to come.

In end, I would love to recommend the product specialist I had the opportunity to work through this process with. Christian Schenk. Hopefully you will have the opportunity to work with him like I have in the future.

It's 1/2/2018 and I'm IN the dealership as I'm writing this!!!! I want to leave already but my husband and  his cousin who's buying the car are about to test drive so I'm stuck. First off, I was actually super excited to visit since they renovated, I thought it'd be a grand show room with great service and huge smiles all around but nope. We walked in and looked around before a gentleman approached us with SWEATY hands. I immediately went for the hand sanitizer after his weak hand shake! He led us to his desk and began the search for the used car we found online. He did offer the kids popcorn and us coffee and drinks. My husband was on his phone  looking up "true car" as the salesman asked for proper ID to test drive. He left for a bit to get the car and comes back with a DIFFERENT car bc the one they advertised was not ready til Friday. In the meanwhile our cousin gets a phone call from within the dealership asking him if he had inquired about a car. The lady was sitting BEHIND us and as awkward as it was, she was not polite or humorous or said ANYTHING to us after we hung up! She's still walking around me in her casual outfit and winter hat!!!!! I hate this place!!! The salesman is alright but not very professional....like tossing the papers in front of us to sign. He's like someone they just hired off the street! Maybe BECAUSE I am in sales that I'm extra critical but nope, I've decided I will never buy a used itnew car from here and we were looking for a Toyota come this summer. Oh well.

Update: after we left my husband laughed and told me before they took the "other" car for the test drive.  The salesman was in the backseat huddling in the warm car while he and his cousin cleaned the snow off the car for a good 10 minutes!! What a joke of a dealership!!!!

I want to love this place. I really do. I moved to Columbus from another city where I originally bought my vehicle but have been here twice now for service (just routine oil changes). The website and scheduling process is great and the employees have also always been pleasant to deal with. My only issue is time. An hour and a half wait for a routine oil change is simply more time than I care to invest. I don't like this as my other option is the instant oil change places. I would much rather come here but the wait time for what should be a 15-20 minute service is just too high.

Review update. The summary of my experience ended up being much worse than the initial review. After almost two hours my truck was returned to me and they had actually taken air out of my tires to the point the low tire pressure warning light on my dash was lit up. Yep got my vehicle back with a warning light that they actually caused. They also pretty much rubber all of the white off or the letters on one of my tires most likely by running into the side rails going through the car wash. Also nice big greasy footprint on the door sill where someone actually put their entire foot there and stood.

Real reason for the one star is that the next day I sent an email to the dealership letting them know of the problems I had with the visit. I still have not received any response  to my email but they did pass along my contact info to the sales department who called and tried to sell me a new car.

Conclusion is that based upon the poor quality of a routine oil change service along with zero follow up to my complaint leads me to have a lack of confidence in a commitment to either quality or customer satisfaction. I will most likely never return to this dealership for service or to look for a new car.

The negative- auto repair. While on a business trip for a week, my wife had to get an oil change. I directed her to the $49 sale price at tansky. To my surprise, they had upsold her to over $150 for the oil change and several services that we did not need or want. When I called the office to confront them and ask for a refund or credit, the auto repair manager was the most unpleasant person I've spoken to in a long time. He basically told me that they weren't willing to do anything, and that I should pay for the services even if she didn't initially want them.

I had a simple question for him... Having bought 2 vehicles from this location, what was the likelihood that I would ever shop here again if this is how they would treat their customers post sale?

There is a positive with this location. The person I've bought my vehicles from was very professional. I wanted to give them more stars, but the auto repair portion of their business is sketchy at best.

Watch what they try and charge for your next service. Be very wary especially if you are sending a person to service their vehicle that may not know as much about vehicle maintenance.

Sorry Tansky! You have a professional sales team, but you really need to work on your auto repair portion of your business.

The service manager, Mark Matthews, needs to be fired. He provides the worst customer I have ever experienced at any business. I left him half a dozen messages over the course of a week related to service Toyota did on my car; he did not return a single one. Only after I threatened to speak to his manager did he call me. And when he did call me, he claimed that he never received any of my messages. This is clearly a recurring lie he tells customers as I saw many other customers describe the exact same experience on the Better Business Bureau's website. That truck is pretty awesome and I would love to have it but, this is just not a good time. When I called to get a quote for my Scion tc water pump replacement they quoted me $100 over another dealer in town. I also felt that when I had a light on in my car they wanted to charge me $100 to test out if the gas cap was the issue. I went to auto zone for a free code scan and figure out it was probably the gas cap. They refused to try a gas cap before I purchased the part that would not have been able to be returned if it didn't work. I decided to start going to another dealer even though I lived on bethel road. I decided to buy my new 2017 Rav 4 from Toyota Direct because of this interaction and because they don't make it easy to see what discounts are available on their website.

I leased my car here in October and am seriously regretting it. These people are liars and crooks. They did the good old bait and switch on me when I first came in. Promised me a car and price and when I came in to get it, it was a different car, and the one I wanted was going to be more expensive. Got that sorted out. Leased the car. Not a week later I notice my AC isn't working. This car was brand new, only had 25 miles on it when I drove it off the lot, so I'm alarmed. I call them immediately and set up an appt to have it checked out.  I take it in, wait around for 20 minutes for the guy who was supposed to be helping me.. no where to be found. I ask someone else how long this will take, they of course couldn't give me a direct answer. So, I had to leave to get ready for work. The guy who was supposed to be helping me still never showed up. This was the first week of November, I figured it would be fine until spring time, I'm under warranty and I don't need my AC for a few months. Just took it back in again yesterday, waited around for 3 hours for them to tell me a rock looked like it came up and punched a hole in my air compressor causing a leak and that's considered a road hazard and that's not covered under factory warranty. Are ya kidding me?

I talked to several people and no one really listened to me, they refused to fix it, all sticking to the story about the rock. In my mind, A. You would think this would be a common thing to have happen if that was the case and I've  never heard of this happening to anyone B. That leak must've happened real fast considering I had the car for not even a week and C. I don't care about how they think it happened, the car was like that when I got it. They sold me a faulty car and refused to acknowledge it!

Also, I went to speak to a manager and while I was waiting at the front desk, I heard the other manager talking crap about me on the phone saying it was "fishy" that I waited to bring it in (Again, winter time didn't need my AC!) I confronted him and stunned he said he was referring to someone else. Liar. The customer service here is crappy, their cars are junk. The workers are liars and rude. Don't work with these people, it's not worth the low car payment/ month, they cheat you out of your money in the service department.
