A great small Filipino business in the Paradise Hills/Spring Valley area. I walked in, it was simple and quite place. Walked up to the counter, a lot of choices to choose from. It gives you a menu. If you're the one who needs pictures to pick your meal, they got that for you too! They have breakfast meals, all basic -logs and some different ones too. I went there during lunch but I was craving breakfast still. I forgot the name of it but I got the triple meat breakfast (tapsilog, tocilog and longsilog). I also got a side of loompia. I got my meal and opened it up. It was a good amount of meats and rice. The meats weren't dry, cooked well. I ate it up! But couldn't finish it cus it was a lot. It was good, I tried to it as much as I can. Sat there and ate while watching tv. Not rushed, just like I was sitting at home and eating, haha. I tried the sisig. It was freshly made, it was delicious! If you like sisig, need to try it. If you're in the area, go trying out! #SupportSmallBusiness

Why haven't I heard about this place before and how haven't I heard about Sisig fries until today?? I feel like I've been missing out all this time. Â I loved everything about the dish- from the thin fries to the Sisig and the addition of the fried egg on top- it was really a unique, delicious dish. Â Of course, the dish itself isn't traditional, but the fusion of Filipino flavors and merging of textures put this dish on the next level. Â We also tried the 1/2 and 1/2 BBQ plate with chicken and short ribs. Â Both meats were tender, super flavorful with a sweet/soy sauce marinade and with piping hot rice, I was in Heaven. Â This was my first visit to Tambayan and it will most definitely not be my last. Â I must try the Silogs next. Â Maybe tomorrow.Business owner information

This review is for what received via Delivery (Doordash). Doordash delivery went well. Â My issues are with the food we received and the price we paid for the food. Please see pictures. The lumpia are the smallest lumpia I have ever seen. They were $3.50 for 3 of them. Crazy. The cheapest pancit is $16 on Doordash. For pancit with hardly any meat....crazy. Both were lukewarm when we received them, but I don't know much they could do to change that. Nevertheless, the lumpia had to be toasted in a toaster oven. We also got the triple meat combo with BBQ chicken, BBQ pork, and short ribs that were basically unedible due to grizzle. That one gross dish was $39.50!!! Â Laughable. We thought we were getting Catering sides with the prices they charged...nope. These are individual dishes.

Hi Hillary, sorry you didn’t enjoy the food. The door dash prices are higher because they take a 33% commission, it’ll be cheaper to order directly from us, and pick it up so it’s tasty and fresh.  The driver probably took a while to deliver the food, because it’s wouldn’t be like that if it was fresh, all our food is made to order. We’re sorry you had a bad experience, I know door dash can give you a refund, we can’t cause it was through them. Hopefully you can give us another chance. We’d love to take care of you next time, just let us know what happened when you order and we’ll try our best to make everything right. Sorry again.

They're never open when they're supposed to be. I've come on different days and they're always closed when their business hours say they should be open.

Love this place!!! My first time here and it's a 10/10 recommend! Definitely going back for more and trying all their other food.
I got the sisig with garlic rice and it was the BEST I've ever had!
Also ask for their spicy vinegar sauce!
Can't wait to bring all my friends here next time!!! - 1024245694/16/2022
Instantly knew I would give this place 5 stars when I took my first bite. Just left the restaurant and it was a savory, satisfying, excellent experience. The Tocino was tasty and the Lechon was fackn Grade A, succulent to the teeth. The lady was sweet and kind. Come here and support your Kababayan. You will get your money's worth.

SILOGS!
(4 stars)
- service, excellent and friendly staff
- food, good
- price, decent
- COVID-19, safety measures in place!
The smell of home cooking on your clothes just screams Filipino!!! Craving silog and needed to fix my fix. Sometimes you just get sick of Mira Mesa or National City and want to try something different somewhere else. And so, I did, and I drove to Spring Valley.
Definitely doing my best to support local and support my peoples while not trying to splurge eating out too much. But sometimes you need other people's home cooking because you kinda get sick of your own.
TAPSILOG ($10.95) - came with rice, well cooked egg, cup of sinigang sabaw. Happy with the sinigang sabaw, perfect sour to go with my meal. I chose garlic fried rice and well, maybe, I should have went with plain rice. I love garlic fried rice but not a fan of their version. It tasted like burnt garlic and vinegar - my preference is decent garlic but not overkill and theirs was overkill and then some. I Â didn't have an option on the style of egg but doesn't matter - the ride home would have cooked the egg longer anyways. The tapa meat was tender, meaty (less taba pieces) and had good flavor - way better than many tapa plates I've tried around San Diego but not the best I've had in my lifetime. Good tapa portion!
PORK LUMPIA (3/$1.95) - perfect bite size and crispy. The filling inside kind of was bland to my surprise but of course dipping it into the sweet and sour sauce will change that up.
Yikes, forgot to check in to get my free drink and ended up paying for my can of soda.
They had a very plentiful and delicious menu of rice plate dishes. First time here and won't be the last... I can see myself driving to Spring Valley again.

I've been craving Filipino BBQ and this place hit the spot for my husband and I.
What we got:
- Grilled "Pork Belly" Liempo plate
- BBQ Short Ribs with Garlic rice & sub mac salad for and egg
- a free soda if you check in on yelp
Pros:
- Menu with photos: if you are ever hesitant to order and don't know what food items look like they have a photo menu of some of their items
- Good portions: When you get a plate you usually get 2 scoops of rice & mac salad or 2 scoops of rice & an egg
- Not too pricey: A majority of the menu items are under $15
-Seating: This place is pretty small but, they have indoor & outdoor seating
Cons:
- Wait time: It take some time so I highly suggest calling & ordering ahead!
Overall, We're definitely coming back whenever we want some good Filipino BBQ! - Josh C.San Diego, CA1040555/11/2022
BBQ Chicken plate was delicious. Sweet, salty, deliciousness marinade. Side of macaroni salad complimented chicken and rice. Large enough for 2 people.
