Such a beautiful, serene space hiding within city limits. When you enter the boardwalk trail, you wouldn't know that just under a mile away major thoroughfares surround you - maybe unless you choose to hear the traffic sounds. The swampy wetlands may be prime territory for mosquitoes, but we didn't meet any while visiting! We heard birds - so many birds - and saw a few too. The tremendous slash pines and other flora will awe you. If not for the rain and lightning show, we would have stayed longer to sit and watch from one of the covered pavilions on the trail. Can't wait to return another time and really have a chance to immerse myself in the flora and fauna!

What a serene oasis in Coral Springs just minutes away from bustling Walmart. There is a small but sufficient parking lot. There is a .4 mile boardwalk through the cypress swamp. There are QR codes throughout that you can scan and learn about the vegetation. The QR code I tried did not work. There are restrooms by the parking area. There are trash and recycling receptacles and I did not see any litter in the preserve. A flier on the bulletin board announced a bird walk on the first Sunday of the month, September 2022 to June 2023 at 8 AM. .There is also a bike rack and benches. Hours are 8 AM to 7:30 PM.

Wow, what a gem! It is on an elevated broad walk, which would be suitable too, for people in wheelchairs. The walk around is one way - so fantastic during covid. It is 0.04 miles long, with a few rest stops if required for the older folk. The walk is very easy, all on one level and nothing to climb. They also have a few gazebos. To come to escape the rat race, and be at one with nature, it is peaceful, majestic and glorious. I think I saw an armadillo (from a distance), a few birds, and a Squirrel!! As per the informative signs dotted around, you can also maybe see frogs, black snakes (no thank you) and owls (i DID hear them, but did not see them!)
I will surely be back with visitors from Germany and England, after the pandemic. Amazing place, and beautifully done.
The address is - 3700 Turtle Run Boulevard, Coral Springs
There is also a lot of foliage - Pond and bald cypress are the defining features of this 66-acre remnant of a cypress and hardwood swamp. That it still exists is due in large measure to the efforts of students at nearby Coral Springs High School, who fought to preserve it. The cypress, figs, maples, willows, gumbo limbo and pond apples enclose the site, making it seem much larger than it really is and isolate visitors from the rest of the world.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Feb 22, 2021
We've been checking out the nature reserves in our area and today we decided to visit Tall Cypress in Coral Springs.
Located near Sample Road, Tall Cypress is a really nice little nature spot. It's well kept and clean, with charming landscapes and a boardwalk that circles the area. It's also somewhat shady, so it's usually quite pleasant temperature wise. We usually do 4 loops when we visit and that comes out to about 2 miles.
One of the best things about Tall Cypress is that it's never really crowded, so it feels like you have the place all to yourself. There's also a gazebo about 1/3 of the way through the walk, so you can take a break if you want.
While Tall Cypress is definitely a great place to walk, birdwatchers and animal admirers will probably be a bit disappointed. In all the times we've visited we've never seen more than a few birds here and there.
All in all though, very nice spot. Worth a visit. Four stars.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 23, 2020
Tall Cypress Nature Area is located in Sample Road and Turtle Run in Coral Springs. It is a very nice nature reserve with a 2100 feet long board walk. It is open 7 days a week from 8 AM to 6 PM. It has nice circular board walk, with good shade and a nice breeze, that you can do over and over to achieve you desire distance. Along the path there are a few observation decks to get a nice view of the surrounding nature.
If you are planning to visit, be aware the parking area is small, there is not picnic area, and the board walk is only a little more than 1/4 mile long. That said, it is a small little treasure in the busy Urban area.Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 13Oh no 0 - Mar 1, 2020
Another Sunday, another park. Tall Cypress is close to home. I was exited to be able to do a nice long walk. The only problem: It's not much of one. This multi acre nature area has a boardwalk trail that is barely worth the trip here. I guess I would say 1/4 mile. It goes on a loop. The hubs and I had to do the loop over and over to be able to reach 4 miles. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful and anything outdoors is worth it, but it gets a little repetitive. I would come back here on a pinch, but it would not be my trail of choice. On the plus side, if you find yourself wanting to use the restroom. Is not far of a walk to get to it.

I spend my week cooped up in a classroom so on the weekend I am always on the lookout for somewhere to get some fresh air and exercise. I was in the area to get some shopping done so I decided to check out this area in the hopes of getting some fitbit steps in. There are a few parking spots and picnic tables in the lot. Before you enter the trail there is a bathroom, a feature I always appreciate. On the other side of the bathroom is a few benches set up so people can give nature talks. Before you start your walk you can download the eNaturalist Program on your phone to get a self guided tour.
The entire area is 66 acres. The trail is on an elevated boardwalk over basin swamps and pine flatwood. It reminded me a lot of Fern Forest Nature Center but smaller. The trail winds through the Cypress area so you are never sure what you are going to see around the corner. There are two covered pavilions that lookout onto the natural area. There is also a small pond and waterway that runs along part of the boardwalk. I didn't see any wildlife but I was walking quickly for exercise. I find that if you want to see animals you have to really linger. Nevertheless it was a nice walk on a beautiful morning.
Bird walks are held September through June and there are nature at night hikes October through May. A full schedule can be found online at Broward.org under the parks and recreation heading.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 88035817Feb 5, 2018
Love this little hidden trail, such a nice place to go for a walk.
Parking is always free and they open and close at sunrise/sundown.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2018
Great park just wish it was longer of a path. It's a boardwalk that goes in a loop through a cypress area for .4 mile. There are multiple shelters to sit and observe nature. They have displays explaining what you are seeing. You can scan a barcode and learn more also. There are clean restrooms at the start of the trail. There's a bike rack. The parking lot has about 12 spots.

Even though it's small, this is still a charming park.
You will be able to loop the park in under ten minutes, it really is tiny. However if you stop to smell the swamp you'll be able to see a bunch of interesting critters who call the place their home. I saw a few geckos crawling around and some sort of heron flying through the trees.
It's very serene in here, and the cypress trees are a beautiful sight. This is definitely the place to go for solitude, since while very quiet it at least seems very well maintained. If you're close by its worth a stop, since you'll be able to see the whole thing in a short amount of time anyway.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
