Lois K.
After experiencing the retail side of the ice cream business under a rigid franchise system, Lois took the opportunity to make her own creations. After she ventured to Penn State to refine her skills at the prestigious ice cream course, she took her savvy and is applying it into creating unique creations that is made on-site, in front of customers, completely from scratch. Her love of Seattle also shines through as she is determined to use as much local first and organic second in her ingredients while still making flavor rich creations. Lois is also a proud mother of two amazing children. Her daughter frequents the shop talking to customers about her favorite flavor, and her son likes to play air guitar and drink steamed milk at shop before hours.

How many vegan (#vegan, #plantbased) flavors are usually on-hand?
A:
Only 1 or 2! It's almost always a non-dairy, coconut based ice cream.

Definitely pricey and a splurge but is it worth it? Heck yeah! I love ice cream and gelato and I've even had Tillamook ice cream at the creamery in Oregon many times and this ice cream at sweet alchemy is some good ice cream.
They do give samples if you have a hard time making up your mind like me lol which is very appreciated. They also allow half scoops!
I ordered one scoop in a waffle cone and chose half scoop dark side(yummy chocolate) and half scoop Persian rose. So tasty. Dark side is everything I want in a chocolate ice cream, thick, dark chocolate, and oh so good. Persian rose is light in flavor but so tasty with hints of obvious rose and pistachio. Honestly dark side and Persian rose were the perfect combo.
....Yes, as you can see in my photo I am the person who bites into their ice cream lol mind ya business and don't judge...just a girl enjoying her ice cream :)
I've walked by sweet alchemy so many times and it always has a line out the door, so I am sooo happy to have given it a try finally. Small interior so it's easier to sit out front at the nearby outdoor benches.
Since it's pricey I won't visit often but it's definitely a place I could see myself stopping by on a hot summer day. I would recommend the dark side and Persian rose! So yummy!

One of the best ambiance ice cream shops I've been to! The place is well decorated and organized. I really liked the theme of the shop. There's not much seating here unfortunately
The ice cream was good! I had their limited edition Makgeoli and it was sooo good. Sweet, tasty, and refreshing on a warm day. I had mine with brownies and chocolate syrup with it was it was pretty enjoyable.
Service was great. Employees are very nice and helpful and they prepare the ice cream quickly. The pricing here is more on the expensive side though. That's the biggest con for me.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - ron F.Seattle, WASep 12, 2025
Bought the sweet cream and the toasted sesame. Both were delicious, but the "base" ice cream is a big either icy/chalky from the way it's made or the way the nonfat milk powder is incorporated. It's an intriguing texture (think large emulsification with bigger balls of ice and fat rather than a completely homogenous texture). I bought it from La Pasta, straight from the freezer, so I don't think it had melted prior or been mishandled. Molly Moon's sweet cream has milk powder, but isn't gritty like this, but maybe it's because of the gum and emulsifiers they add?

Stopped by after a comedy show at laughs. Loved the London fog, but got a scoop of the lemon instead in a waffle cone. Line moved quickly, and they had a good variety of flavors including vegan. The cookie explosion was also excellent. Staff was friendly and willing to let us sample a few before committing to our choices! Small spot, no indoor seating. Cute decor!

We were looking for a sweet treat nearby and stumbled on this place at the street corner. The inside is pretty small but has so many cute decorations and some unique flavors.
Strawberry - I wanted something fruity and this tasted very fresh and was so creamy. The strawberry flavor came through and I enjoyed it despite the steeper price.
We heard the staff explaining that they get their milk from a local farm and we wondered if that was what made a difference in the ice cream texture as well. I would come back to try some of their other flavors.

Delicious! My fav ice cream place around this area. They're very expensive though :/ like I under stand that homemade ice cream is spendy but it's usually a treat when I go because of cost. The people are generally really nice. They space is very small inside so there's usually a line out the door (not very nice on rainy days) but WORTH IT

Visited this adorable ice cream shop today, they had delicious unique flavors! Quick and friendly service with no wait :) They also have teas and coffees and cupcakes. I loved how you could get multiple flavors in their smallest sized cup.

Great tasting ice cream! Charming little corner cafe in the u-district with staple and seasonal flavors, and they have bakery items as well. Very nice employees at the front with welcoming demeanors and good recommendations. Definitely stop by if you are in the neighborhood and looking for a nice treat.
