I, exactly like another yelpers review, moved out to the suburbs 3 years ago & have had the hardest time finding a good salon. I have gone to several different and never gone back. I was to the point of just excepting I may have to drive back into the city to have my hair done-until I went here. I will be a permanent customer of these guys'. I am so happy with my results.
Brad colored my hair and did exactly what I wanted while putting in his own professional touch. I haven't had my hair colored in over 15years and was a little nervous about throwing in the towel to accept that all of my gray hair was killing my self esteem. On top of his excellent talent-he was just such an enjoyable person. As much as I hate this word-he is awesome! I can't wait to go back and get a cut by Juan!

This place is no joke. Amazing color by Brad and cut my Juan. Takes a serious expert to work magic with fine hair. These guys are amazing!

My sister in law recommended Juan for my bridal up-do. Juan was very patient with me as I had trouble deciding what I wanted for my wedding day. We went through 4 differnt up-dos to help me decide. On the day of my wedding he did a fantastic job. I felt like a princess and I recieved a lot of compliments on my up-do. You have to have good hair on your wedding day and Juan made sure I did.

I heard about Juan and Brad's (stylist and colorist, respectively) magic touch through a friend of mine. Based upon her fantastic cut and vibrant color, I knew I'd be getting top notch quality.

Brad and Juan were polite and friendly when we met and got increasingly funny as I got to know them better; they joked around and made me feel at ease while they were busy doing their thang. The second time I went to Swank, I had the brilliant idea of adding a little pizazz to my look but had no clue where to even start. I went in looking a little frumpy (okay, maybe a lotta frumpy is more appropriate... at least I admit it) and walked out with eyebrow length thick fringe and a burst of purple along the front of my hair while the rest was a dark brown with hint of deep red. It looked AMAZING! I've never been one to take risks when it comes to my long tresses yet was confident that these dudes knew what would look best with my face shape as well as personality. I'm scheduling my touch-up for next week and am looking forward to another perfect experience... Also, their salon is conveniently located next to a Mexican restaurant, which means I walk next door and max out on several chicken tacos and an horchata while my color is processing... But I digress. Come check out their fabulous work, I guarantee they'll knock your current hairdresser out of the water.

Swank Salon is a must try! If you are tired of your hair taking 45 minutes to do because the cut is so bad, hair dresser doesn't listening or your color looks like you did it at home in the dark, Swank Salon is the place to restore your faith in a salon, it's AWESOME! Call the boys up now and don't wait another minute! Juan and Brad are the BEST! I drive all the way in from Yorkville to have my hair cut and colored and it amazes me how many people tell me my hair looks GREAT!

Brad, Juan and Becca are truly the three best stylists around. I lived in the the city for about 5 years and would make the hike out to STC just to see Brad. No one creates natural-looking color like him (and funky-fun color too). He is a master of his craft. Becca does the BEST blow-outs around and Juan is so patient and precise with his cuts. Best place in the Chicagoland area. And even better...Small Business Support!

I moved to the area from Chicago a year ago and have been unable to find a hair stylist to replace my beloved, long-term stylist from the city. After an unpleasant experience with a salon in Geneva where the stylist cut too much of my hair and went for a look that was the opposite of what I requested, I decided to give Swank a try based on the positive reviews on yelp.

I saw Brad (colorist) and Juan (stylist) today for highlights and a trim, and I'm thrilled with the results! They each listened to what I was looking for and I'm pleased to say I got exactly the results I was hoping for. They were friendly and professional, laid-back but working very fast. Brad was chattier but also giving me space if I wanted to just keep quiet and relax; Juan was amazingly patient, calm, and encouraging and gave me good answers and tips about my hair.

I always dread having to change stylists because I dislike it when people try to push new looks on me despite my being very specific about what I want (typically not much!). I have long hair and although I've been adventurous with my cuts in the past, I generally go for a natural and easy-to-maintain look. Juan was wonderful by not overdoing it, something which I've learned to appreciate because it's rare to find.

Another plus: they did not push me into buying new products from them, despite my fairly detailed questions about hair care and styling. I appreciate it when stylists give honest answers and do not try to make extra money by pressuring clients into purchasing extremely expensive stuff (something that happened to me at the salon in Geneva, for instance).

This is an unusually long review, but I took the time to write because I was so pleasantly surprised with the experience. What a relief not to have to drive one hour to the city to get my hair done!The salon itself is very small and fairly unassuming, and it is obvious that the emphasis is placed on taking care of the clients' hair and not on making the place look fancy. Both Juan and Brad seemed to know well the other clients there, which indicates they were regulars. I will definitely become a regular myself.
