Sushi Densha

Knocked down a few stars because of the revolving belt not running and the very slow service.

I was visiting from out of town looking for a sushi place. When I walked in I was bummed to see that the sushi belt was not working (Even though I read that it should have been operating that time). It's not a deal breaker but I would like to have options and it's kind of fun having small bites come around. It's also awkward to sit next to a belt with chefs in the middle when it is not operating. I was pleased with the food I ordered. The chirashi bowl fish was good and presented nicely. The two rolls I ordered were decent as well. Only thing I wished was for the Inner Harbor roll to taste less fishy. The first thing to hit is the fishiness of the crab because it's not fresh.

The biggest issue I had was the service. The place was almost empty around 8:00 PM on a Friday, which is fine but should mean that your staff should be attentive. I saw workers standing around doing nothing and hanging out towards the back. The waiter decided to never come back to take our order after he gave us water. I eventually had to look for him and flag him down...With that many people working there and so little guests, this should not have happened.

I would come back to try some other things if I were in town, but hope they improve on their customer service.

I've been here twice and both times it was pretty empty. But the service and friendly and mostly prompt except for the fried chicken bowl, which took a little longer to cook. The food is good and definitely unique (it's truly Asian fushion). And it's a good price for sushi in the area. Both times they also have me a complimentary sample of a unique dish they were promoting.

Absolute waste of money I ordered miso soup, salad, and a few sushi rolls..I ordered through Grubhub and they had the driver waiting almost an hour for my food and he was going to cancel my order..So they called me and asked if I still wanted my food and of course because at this point I'm starving..The soup and was extremely sour tasting, The salad was literally iceberg lettuce with flavorless dressing and cost $3 I could get 3 heads of lettuce for that price..The sushi was by far the worst sushi I have ever had..I will never get sushi from here again the only reason I ordered from here was because "lazy fish" was closed A complete waste of $58 I wish I could get my money back to be honest

The monkey brain avocado thing was scrumptious!
I REALLY like that thing. That being said we just ordered over $100 worth of sushi and everything besides the monkey brain was trash.

Ps I don't even leave bad reviews. It just wasn't good. It was actually bad. BUT that monkey brain avocado thing was delicious. So if you come here. Try that

Yummy sushi, good quality and decent portion, baby girl loved the chicken teriyaki bento and Thai tea. The avocado ball was so unique and delicious! We also ordered chicken karage and beef bowl... everything tasted great. Will def return!!!

Had the Vegetarian Deluxe for $9.50. So good. Best vegan sushi ever and great customer service. People in Frederick are lucky to have this restaurant. I especially loved the sweet potato sushi. I also had an amazing beer that is from a local brewery. Definitely recommend it.
Would be back if in town.

I love this place! I'm a sweet potato roll fanatic and this spot makes the best in Frederick. The food here is delicious! I've had the salmon teriyaki bowl, bento boxes, several rolls... and I've never been disappointed. One day I'll make it to lunch to try the fun sushi conveyor belt!

One last tip: They also have a pretty awesome sake menu with various types, which they only sell by the bottle so make sure you're thirsty :)

DH, family and I dined here 27 June 2016 for dinner. It was our (DH and me) first time eating at Sushi Densha.

The place wasn't crowded at all, but then, it was a Monday evening. It's one large open with a sushi conveyor belt bar in the middle and a small bar in one corner.

DH and I ordered some Sake (had the second one heated up more, as we like it hot).

For my entrée, I had a sushi/sashimi sampler ($23.95, but also $1 extra for a second white tuna). I enjoyed every bite of my dinner, as the fish was very fresh. It was a good dinner portion and it filled me up.

DH had the Dragon roll (eel & cucumber topped with avocado, tobiko & eel sauce). Excellent! He also had the Singapore rice noodles with pork. I had a taste and I have to say that was some of the best Singapore noodles I've had in a long time.

The others at the table also enjoyed their food. Some had sushi, others had one of the Bento box dinners, etc. Good variety on the menu.

The only negative comments from the table were: Music too loud and outdated; and not really fitting for this restaurant; and the food brought out at different times. Maybe it was because there was a variety of foods, plus we were a group of 10.

While writing this review, I'm looking through their web site. I see that there's a "Densha Club" where you can be a member and receive discounts. It would have been appreciated if the waiters told us about this card. I'll be sure to get one the next time I'm there.

Over all, an excellent place for sushi and other tasty foods. Lots to choose from on the menu. Prices were reasonable for the portions received. Service by two waiters was excellent. We plan to return there soon!

We've been here a couple times and both times were good experiences. The staff is super nice and the restaurant is clean. I really wish the conveyer belt operated on the weekends.

The first time we came by (pictures) I had the Tonkatsu broth with cha su (pork belly). The broth was really rich and tasty and the noodle texture was great. The egg didn't taste like it had been marinated very long but fine nonetheless. We also had a couple sushi rolls that were good. Since we can be boring sushi eaters, we just got the spicy tuna and salmon.

Our more recent trip (no pics) comprised of a tempura appetizer, seaweed, spicy roll combo, and the volcano roll. The tempura was light and crispy and had all the regular veggies (along with shrimp). The seaweed was fresh and well seasoned, albeit a smaller portion I've had before. The spicy roll was fitting for 2 - at least 12 or so rolls total so well worth the price and and very tasty. The volcano roll was really hot so if you order it, don't eat the whole thing at once like you do with cold sushi. :-/ Strangely enough, the volcano roll was actually tastier after we brought it home and refrigerated it. It's like the flavors sunk in and the texture was better and not too soft, as happens with warm sushi.

It's a good place to go for sushi - might not be one of those fancy smaller places but i think you'll find it's fine to for a drop by when you have a hankering' for raw fish.

Stopped in for a Sunday lunch in May. It was empty. Enjoyed my sashimi app and balls. Nice low carb option. I would go back.
