Good food. No teriyaki sauce which is a basic sauce but they have a form of teriyaki in a think squeeze bottle. Decently priced. Comes with egg rolls, peanut butter dinner bread & miniature looking donughts. All included! Hole in the wall but pretty decent. No service really. You make the food, eat & they clear plates. That's all.

For a 4-star rating I really expected a lot more! Don't get me wrong: this place is not so bad but I was not impressed. First of all, parking is extremely small and the location itself is not too inviting. It's between a cigarette shop (eewww) and a tiny convenient store that looked inconvenient. Secondly, the side dishes (like the veggies etc) wasn't that great but satisfactory. Meat selection is great. They even have LAMB meat (for you lamb eaters)! What impressed me though is the "recommended sauces" that you can follow to make the dish you want such as Broccoli beef, mangolian beef, etc... for someone like me, that gave me an idea of how much sauce and what type of sauce and spices to put in my bowl! So that was helpful. SAUCE ALERT: their sauces are a bit watery. I noticed it with the oyster sauce. It's supposed to be thick not watery. Since my sister is a great cook, I learned a thing or two about sauce quality!

Moving on: With the price you pay, you also have the option of getting Eggrolls, wontop chips (it was stale though uggh), fried rice, soup, Chinese donuts, and ice cream.

I was also a bit disappointed that they did not have enough tongs (for the veggies).

My food overall came out alright. I enjoyed it but I had better. Also be mindful not to take too much at once. They will charge extra for left overs. You can always go back for seconds! So, take it one bowl at a time.

Anyway my vote of this place: AVERAGE. 2.5

If you've tried the other Mongolian BBQ on El Camino, you would know that Su's isn't a competition

    -Lack of sauces
    -More expensive
    -Weak side dishes
    -No customer service
    -Boring interior

Not enough tongs for each toppings so I've seen people cross contaminate

Everything was just so bland and basic that we didn't bother getting second. When we paid and realized it was $15?? We definitely wouldn't come back.

It's not terrible but I've had better. That's pretty much it.

I have been visiting this place for he last 15 years. It has not changed at all, the menu is the same, the service is the same. Only the price changed. I do not think a lunch there should be $15 a piece. Other factors are not enough parking, always crowded at pick hours, slow service and stinky. I have to take a shower every time I get out of there.
There are other Mongolian BBQ's that are much more attractive.

First time at this place. It was pretty good. I like that it's all you can eat, but they don't like people to waste food. I only ate one bowl. But I could definitely see myself pigging out on seconds in the future. The noodles look amazing but I am trying to be GF this week. I stuck to steamed rice (and an egg roll. Lol). The sauces are decent and I especially like the chili oil & paste. I will be back. We got there at 11am and were out in 30mins. For my sister and I to both eat for lunch with a soda pop, it came out to like $32. Not bad. Fair prices (considering all you can eat), quick, not crowded. I'll be back!

Bomb Mongolian BBQ. It's a hole in the wall to be sure but the food is good and the prices are reasonable. You're going to leave stuffed.

We've been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Ingredients are good and always a variety of veggies. Bring your appetite but leave room for a yummy soft serve ice cream cone.

I have been visiting this restaurant for 8 years now and am amazed by it's consistency. Granted it's a mongolian BBQ and hence taste is a factor of what I pick to be cooked. But the variety offered and the quality are very reliable. This place is super efficient and very focused on the essentials. It is not going to win any michelin stars for its ambience but is really good in terms of taste and service.

The parking lot can be very small and crowded but there is plenty of street parking nearby. The location is not very upscale but is very central and accessible from many nearby neighborhoods.

I love Su's, have been coming for many years and am never disappointed. I particularly like the great selection of sauces for my stir-fry (with crispy won tons on the side!). It's a bit of a dive, but not in a bad way; just nothing fancy, and located in an old, small strip mall. It's clean and large enough that I've never had to wait for a table. The service is always friendly.

I absolutely love Mongolian BBQ. I've been here a couple of times and I like being able to build my own noodle entree with all the items I choose and like. This is an all you can eat buffet for lunch and dinner. This place offers meat items that include beef, lamb, chicken, and tofu. The vegetables include carrots, broccoli, water chestnuts, cabbage and bean sprouts. There is also pineapple and various sauces. Other supplementary food that goes with the main course are egg rolls, flat bread with sesame, fried rice and simmered meat.

    Would I go back? Depends.

    For lunch takeout? No.
    For staying? Probably.

$14.14 out the door for weekday lunch takeout.
Same price as staying, but still getting the soft serve. Price was not worth the volume of food I got. (The Mongolian place in MV on Castro even charges a lower lunch takeout rate)

Flavor - I'm no snob and I'm a Mongolian BBQ vet; my food didn't have much flavor and I know how to layer the sauces. For two bowls I used 5 scoops sweet/sour, 4 garlic, 2 soy, 2 oyster, and a little bit of oil, and still no flavor and a bit on the oily side.

I wanted to love this place, and I love supporting small businesses. The veggies were clearly super fresh. Standard meat options. Staff was nice enough.

I'd go back to sit and eat, have access to the sauces to flavor my food after it's cooked, and get my soft serve.

I haven't had Mongolian bbq for a while, so I was happy to give this place a try. It's just okay, to be honest. The place is hidden in a plaza on El Camino Real and has a pretty small parking lot. There's ample parking on the street, though.

It's around $15 for all you can eat. Grab two bowls so you can get a bunch of stuff at once. The setup at this place is a bit more complicated than other ones. The line wraps around the ingredient area. They have a smaller selection than places in SoCal, but they have all the basic meats and veggies. They also have an already-cooked buffet area, but no one seemed to really touch those. Make sure to pile on sauces because the recipes they suggest will leave your food pretty bland even after it cooks.

The restaurant also has a really dingy vibe, which made me not want to stay for too long. The quality of my meal here was comparable to the Mongolian BBQ places in malls. For $15, I would prefer to spend money on something that's better quality.

Not sure why this place is rated 4 stars but the last time I checked, 4 stars means above average right?

This is place is quite blah to me.  There isn't an abundance of selections to put in your bowl.  The sauces are located on the other side of the buffet tables and they are ridiculously watery.  Oyster sauce is supposed to be thick and gooey but here you can't tell the difference between it and soy sauce or any other sauce.  Not a big fan.

I suggest traveling farther north on El Camino for better mongolian BBQ experiences towards korean town.

Not too shabby for a Mongolian AYCE BBQ place - for $14.99 AYCE on a weeknight. We came here on a Tuesday night and it wasn't that busy until we finished eating. It has your typical make your on concoction bowl from frozen meat selections, veggies, noodles to any sauce flavors you want to mix. If you have no idea what you want to do for your sauces, just follow their recipe posted on their station. my favorite part of this place is the soft-serve ice cream :) Space here is a little better because there are seating compare to going to El Camino Mongolian BBQ but the parking space is pretty small. Don't park in front of the liquor store because they will have your car towed at your expense!

From what I understand that this is the spot for Mongolian BBQ in Santa Clara. So I stepped in and was immediately confused. Yes, I've been here before, however, the confusion then carried over to this visit. My friend who's a vet here, took off and left me to fend for myself. I started off by throwing things into my bowl that looked familiar to me. Chicken, noodles and vegetables.

When it was my turn to have my food cooked, the guy grabbed my bowl and placed the contents onto the biggest hot plate I've ever seen. I wonder if the cooks here have ever tried to cover the cooking surface with pancake batter, to see if a four foot hotcake would be possible. I'd be willing to be the first to give it try. After consuming my bowl of viddles, I questioned if I wanted more. I came to the conclusion that I had had my fill and was done. Good stuff though.

Five out of five trans fats...

    Oodles of noodles!

If you are a fan of Mongolian noodles, Su's is the perfect place for you. For the price of $14.99 for an all-you-can-eat buffet on a typical weeknight, it can't get any cheaper than this. While parking can be a pain since the lot is super small, the restaurant itself isn't normally crowded so finding a spot is fairly easy. Inside, Su's doesn't look too pleasing to the eye from its monochromatic colors, plain white walls, and dingy tables. The bar of ingredients isn't so new either; however, everything is neatly labeled and easy to access.

Of course, grading the noodles on the flavor isn't fair since you are in charge of how much sauce and what kind of sauce goes into your dish. Always be wary of putting too much or too little! But if you are like me who is a bit unsure of what to add, they do provide a basic outline of what you should put into your dish and when I follow the recipe, I'm always pleased with how my noodles turn out. My hubby tends to stray from the proposed sauce-list and while it may not always turn out right, he enjoys the "hit-or-miss" process of it. (He's the more adventurous one.)

I will, however, criticize Su's for offering frozen meats instead of fresh slices. There is just something about frozen slices of chicken/beef/lamb/pork that comes off strange, but after the meat is cooked, I honestly can't tell that it was frozen in the first place. In terms of ingredients, Su's doesn't offer too big of a selection, but enough to let you make a few combinations like spinach, onions, jalapenos, bean sprouts, mushrooms, carrots, and broccoli.

If you want more than just noodles, there is an appetizer bar that serves egg rolls, wonton pieces, orange chicken, rice, and egg flower soup. The soup is a bit bland for my taste and the orange chicken has way too much orange, but the egg rolls are decent. There is also a self-serve ice cream machine which is always nice to enjoy after a filling meal.

In general, Su's is just an average place for dinner. I'm certain you won't leave hungry and the idea of constructing your own bowl of noodles is pretty neat. The servers are quite friendly and quick to clean up your table of any dirty utensils. If you disregard the ambiance and lack of variety, Su's is a perfectly good spot to go for a quick, easy, and extremely cheap dinner.

I've been here once before a few years ago when a friend brought me for lunch. I remember it being good. For whatever reason it popped in my mind tonight and of we went.

We walked in at 8pm and it wasn't too crowded given it was an hour before they closed, maybe four tables in the restaurant. We were greeted warmly and welcomed towards the buffet and Mongolian BBQ station. The buffet was half empty (some items gone and not replaced), the fried rice looked a bit old and dried out. The BBQ setup was full and plentiful. Since it's why we're there I opted for the BBQ. I had two different visits the BBQ bar and opted not to eat the buffet, less two yummy spring rolls.

My first bowl was pork, water chestnuts, carrots, mushrooms, onions, jalapeños, broccoli, and bean sprouts (my water noodles lol). I added soy, sugar, vinegar, garlic, oyster, chili oil, and chili paste to the first from the sauce choices. The man cooking the food for you is nice is does a great job. First bowl was good. My second serving was pork and chicken, water chestnuts, carrots, onions, and bean sprouts. For the sauce I used soy, vinegar, easy sugar, oyster, chili paste, chili oil, BBQ oil, sesame seeds, sesame oil, and white pepper. OMG!! I discovered a new favorite. I enjoyed both with a little steamed rice on the side. I did ask them if they were going to put out any spring rolls that I had seen when I walked in (they looked so good) and they made a small fresh batch so we could try them.

All in all we enjoyed the meal. They even have a vanilla soft serve machine with cake ice cream cones. The lunch buffet is $11.99 and the dinner/weekend is $14.99. They do offer takeout but you have to pay just a little extra for the boxes. I wanted to give them three stars because of the state of the buffet. I know it was an hour from closing but that's still plenty of time to keep small batches available to the patrons there. Five or six more people walked in while we were there. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and willingness to accommodate is why I gave them four stars. That and the delicious Mongolian BBQ!!! It's not an upscale restaurant but it's a good place to eat! I would definitely recommend a visit here and will be returning again myself. Thanks Su's!
