This is my third time at Supperclub- the other two times in their larger former location. First time I went: 5 stars easily. Second time 4 stars- really fun. This time- still great- but only 3 stars...

So let's be clear- Supperclub is not for everyone. Forget the fact that the entertainment may be too edgy and sexy and outrageous and possibly offensive(?) for a few of you (mild for hardcore underground SF scene- but pretty amazeballs for a tourist destination), and that the food is just *fine* (def not for the foodie, but acceptable), instead I'd say SC is not for you if you're looking for a bargain; or if you're looking for real SF underground scene; or if you can't approach this realizing the audience is composed of Texans, Floridians, bachelorettes, Silly-con valley tech kids, and anyone else you'd find on a Carnival cruise. Nothing wrong with that- really!- some of my best friends are Floridians! My only gripe was that the hostess (gorgeous and talented, snarky A+ drag queen) actually humiliated at least one audience participant who did his best to do as she asked; to dance outrageously- and show skin. He did both, and the queen just made fun of him. That left bad taste in my mouth. So, unfortunately, be prepared to possibly be humiliated if you go- or maybe be very specific in letting hostess know you are *not* to be pulled in. BUT- and this is a big but- I was also pulled in (it was my birthday) and there was some good natured spectacle- and vodka shot poured down my throat- but it was fun- really fun- and EVERYONE enjoyed it. I got away lucky!

As said in an earlier review, performer "Three" does an amazing video performance that is seriously worth the price of admission (will never hear Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds the same again), and the S/M contortionist is super sexy and talented. Our bar server was also amazing- talented, crazy sexy. And our meal server, very friendly and accommodating. BONUS- if you're offered a 5-minute massage by ERIKO HASHIMOTO, take it. She's incredible- and I'm not a big massage fan- amazing touch and intuition. In fact, if you have some time, get the 20 minute massage with her (extra charge)- she's seriously that good.

If you're on the edge, and not sure about going to SC- I'd say, do it! I've lived in SF bay area for 20 years, attended Burning Man for 5 years, partied with crazy outrageous legit gender-queer, sex-positive, fuck with your head, uber-talented performance crowd... really have seen (and done) it all (or good portion, anyway) and yet Supperclub def still provides something pretty special that you won't find anywhere else- especially for visitors to our amazing jaded jewel of a city.

Message to Supperclub: make a decision on your model- do you want to create booze cruise uncomfortable "laugh at" experience? or take the high road with edgy fun outrageous entertainment that pulls the viewer in- but doesn't humiliate him/her- a more "laugh with" experience? I know you're segmenting your markets into middle America AND the freak crowd- so provide unique experience that doesn't crudely and cruelly take advantage of what should be good-natured audience looking for something special. You can do it! I believe in you. :-)

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We went here with a big group for my birthday, and had high hopes after reading about the great performances, food, and service. We knew it would be a the new, smaller location, but we were optimistic nonetheless.

We paid over $1200 for a VIP King Bed for up to 10 people. According to the ticket description, that was to include the show, dinner, and even a special performance just for our table. Well, other than the lovely MC of the night, there was only a contortionist performance. That lasted about 5 minutes, and it was clear on the other side of the room, out of view from our table. She was great, very talented, but that was the entire show. I guess we actually provided a lot of the entertainment ourselves, since I was pulled onstage for a "walk off" and "dance off." That was fun, but I certainly didn't think that would be the majority of the entertainment for the night.

The food was sub-par. When you're talking about $120pp, you'd think the food would be fantastic. It wasn't. A basic salad, risotto, a few slices of meat, and a pear for dessert. Seriously? And, it was hard to eat things that had to be cut up (salad came whole-leaf, so slicing to eat was tricky on tiny tables or laps).

SERVICE: Our waitress was great, but the host was super rude. She asked about dietary restrictions and allergies at the start of the meal, to which I replied I didn't like fish. Great, no problem. The risotto came out full of mushrooms (another item I'm not a fan of), so I asked if it could be prepared without mushrooms. She was super snarky with me and said "you should have told me you didn't like mushrooms when I asked!" That's probably true, but I'm not allergic to them, I just don't like them. I usually just pick around them, so I didn't want to be annoying when she asked my preferences. Either way, if we're going on the old adage of "the customer is always right," just smile and say "no problem" if something needs to be changed, don't give a huge attitude and act all snarky to me the rest of the night.

The overall vibe was just a bummer. We planned to stay for the "club" after dinner and the "show" was over, but everyone was just so over it, and all my guests wanted to leave. It was a huge expensive bust, and really bummed me out on my birthday.

Place is amazing, came for the dinner and a show and was blown away. Service was with the lovely Deena who was a part of the show and didn't disappoint. First course was a really bomb salad with bacon. Second was an deliciously seasoned steak with Veggies. I can't wait for dessert!! Cocktails were great, recommend the speak easy

My husband and i wanted to do something different. I ordered the Groupon for Supperclub SF. What an amazing deal! Miss Vee (Host/MC/Gender Illusionist) was incredibly funny and an amazing Host. The entertainment: Auberon did a belly dance fusion number which was very well done. "Three" did a piece that is in my lifetime top 5 performances that I have ever experienced. Three did this an video projection piece that was mesmerizing. I loved it and would go back specifically for this part of the entertainment. The ambience is very well done at the new location (On Mason Street)
Now lets talk food: we purchased the 4 course deal with Groupon. The food was HUGE....more than enough. We had a Salad with vinaigrette dressing, Halibut with Potoatoes, Steak with Mushrooms, Chocolate covered Strawberries and a cheese cake torte. And a shot with the Chef who prepared everything perfect. Definitely a place I will go back to for both the entertainment and the food. This was a really cool date night experience for us! We were treated like royalty. I would definitely bring out of town guests here....its that cool!

Short and sweet......The Supperclub is a place clearly for folks who appreciate "Art" in all it's forms. It is edgy, sexy, colorful and funny. Must have a sense of humor if you want to enjoy it. I have been to the SC several times and I have always dig it, and the food is OK 2, I say OK because it is not a 5 star restaurant, but it is a must see in the SF bay are.

My husband and I had an AMAZING experience at the SupperClub bondage bunny dinner last weekend. Can you believe we got 9 courses, (rabbit wontons were excellent, the short rib kicked ass and the peach sorbet was out of this world) The food was divine and the staff was very accommodating and attentive throughout the entire dinner experience. And I mean, what an Awesome experience!! I will be recommending to all my friends and family to take advantage of what SupperClub has to offer at their new location in Union Square. You should definitely check it out, you won't be disappointed.
