This place is just fine for a small town motel. Rooms are nice and ours was very clean. It had a desk and an armchair. (My husband I don't think moved from that chair except to use the bathroom and sleep, tho he did nod off in the chair once.) Microwave and a decent sized fridge are in the room. As is a hairdryer, ironing board, and the cable tv channels were great.

Room only came with 3 small square pillows, but when we asked for more at the front desk they hooked us up nicely. Every section of the motel has their own ice machine and vending. Room windows also open. Perfect for this time of year.

There was an awkward hole in our wall. LoL I also think the tv is a little small but I'm just used to our giganto tv at home I suppose. Plenty of mirrors, but I wish the sink was outside the bathroom. And there isn't a lot of counter space at all.

Bathroom was PERFECT for me. I'm 8mo pregnant and HUGE so having bars to help hoist myself off the toilet and having a literal walk-in shower was amazing. Super thumbs up for that.

I didn't get breakfast...woke up too late and took too long to get ready, but my husband went down for coffee. He said there's waffle makers, biscuits & gravy, breads, yogurts, apples, juices, etc. Typical motel breakfast.

There's also an indoor pool and hot tub, but we didn't use it. Didn't bring any suits.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sleep inside an ashtray, look no further than this motel.

My non-smoking motel room reeked of cigarettes, the odor anchored in the room fastened itself in our clothes for a few days. The moderately clean room offered a barley functional TV a bathroom and other basic amenities. While the bed wasn't the most comfortable it was enough to sleep in.

The motel offered a pool and hot tub that felt dirty and unkept. The noise from the busy street and kids setting off fireworks were bothersome.

The continental breakfast was barley edible with terrible food. The coffee creamer was very old and came out spoiled and clumpy from the disposal cups.

Overall I was unhappy with my stay and quality of this small town motel and recommended any other travelers to move on to better places nearby. Although the low price was enticing the price wasn't worth the stay.

Highly overpriced. Worn/threadbare sheets and towels with stains, small musty rooms with a wall AC unit that doesn't touch the humidity, a owner that questioned me about my service animal, bare bones breakfast, trash everywhere (inside & out). All doors to building always unlocked, felt pretty unsafe. I felt this room should have been maybe a third of the cost for the quality we encountered. One step above camping. And the TV - either they didn't purchase the channel or it was a religious channel. So very very disappointed.

Had a block of rooms 21 total. Checking out was bad. Wrong rooms billed to different people. Wrong amount on several rooms. Not a pleasant experience.

Last time I was in Valentine I stayed at the Trade Winds. Next time I will return there or try the Econolodge. The only reason to stay here is the pool.

Farmers Brothers coffee is served here. It totally sucks. Why Farmers Brothers? I'm guessing price.

The sign claimed that biscuits and gravy are a regional favorite. As a Nebraska native, I can state with authority that is NOT the case. Maybe in Arkansas but not in Nebraska. Nebraskans have superior taste!

The price for the room was way too high. No updates since 1975. The place is long in the tooth.

There was a sign on the pool entrance door informing entrants that its use is limited to guests and other users might be charged for theft of services. An accurate statement of the law but I'm wondering if the Cherry County Sheriff will respond to that call. "Sheriff, we've got some sauna and hot tub rustlers at the Super 8."

The sign on the ice machine informed customers that the ice was only for room use and not to fill coolers and ice chests. What if I used the tiny room ice bucket, filled it and made multiple trips to fill up my cooler? Would that still be a Super 8 capital crime? Seriously, is there an ice shortage at the Super 8. How is this rule enforced? Guilt and moral suasion in post-modern America?

The rodeo was in Valentine during our stay. Very few rodeo people stayed here. Classic example of the wisdom of the crowds.

Thankfully I was spared the TDS of CNN in the breakfast room. Instead i was treated to the banal and repetitive droning of the Weather Channel.

Stayed in no smoking room. It was next to the smoking section so the entrance was super smokey. I've been in casinos that were less smokey. The room was ok and it seemed clean enough. Bring your own coffe.

A little pricey, but still a good choice for the area.

There aren't a lot of lodging options around Valentine, especially if you're on a budget. This Super 8 is more expensive than most in the chain, so I took advantage of a discount to stay here.

At first glance, the outside of the premises and the interior hallways are dated and worn. The rooms themselves are recently remodeled with comfortable beds and a fridge/micro combination. The only minor issue I had with the (non-smoking) room was a faint smoky smell, but at least it wasn't overwhelming.

They have a hot tub and pool that are open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Convenient hours that helped make this a relaxing stay. (Many hotels will have shorter pool hours)

Service was friendly here too, so all in all, I had a good experience. As mentioned, the rates are a little higher than expected, but there aren't exactly many options near Valentine, so beggars can't be choosers.

To start with the price is absurd, at most this is a $30 a night room. The place smells like fish. The door to get into the building took 8 tried before letting me in. The tv did not work at all, there was a random puddle of water under the alarm clock on the nightstand and it was making an intermittent buzzing sound until we unplugged it. The front desk clerk failed to mention what the wifi passcode was so we had to call the desk for that. The toilet felt like it was not attached to anything and just wobbled in place. The shower head reached the middle of my back, had to lean backwards and forwards to get my body wet. Overall this place is not worth the time or effort to stay at. Would not recommend it ever.

We rolled into Valentine, NE around 6 pm and originally planned on camping. We decided to go for a hotel instead and figured the Holiday Inn Express was a bit pricey. So we decided to stay at the Super 8. The hotel was decent. Not great, not terrible -- it was just there. The room was decent though it smelled a little when the air conditioning was on. The room was clean, the bed a good size. The washer/dryer in the hall must have had some problems because there were towels on the ground around them and it made the hall smell a little. The pool and hot tub were decent but a lot of kids. Didn't go into the Sauna. Overall, I'd say the hotel at best is average. Breakfast was standard: waffles, cereal, muffins.

I literally got scabies in the hot tub. There was brown sum built up around edge of hot tub. The place was so run down when we pulled up I thought it was an old building that was no longer in business. I didn't believe it until I saw the sign. Signs on doors "do not clean fish or birds in room". The tub in the room was stained brownish black from filth built up over time that had not been cleaned properly. The air conditioner did not work but mainly, I GOT SCABIES FROM THEIR HOT TUB!!! There are minimal building codes in Valentine so all the health department is doing is writing a letter to manager there letting him know how to treat for scabies and make sure chlorine levels are correct!
