About the Business
We are a locally owned and independently run restaurant featuring many local Colorado ingredients, brews, and spirits in a Colorado-mountain themed atmosphere with friendly service and high quality plates. What we DO NOT do is serve food that is prepared elsewhere, frozen and shipped in cardboard boxed to be heated up fast-food style as you might find in many national chains, As a 100% made-from-scratch kitchen, we are proud to offer food that is prepared fresh on a daily basis using quality, creative, locally sourced ingredients where the end result is a great tasting dish that will leave you wanting to come back for more.

Man, have you ever really wanted to like a place so bad that you actually think something is wrong with you when you find out it sucks? Insert Summit House. A "locally" owned pub/grill wedged in a concrete jungle of big corporations with a theme of mountain comfort food and cold beer. Should be a local favorite, right?!
Not so much. I put locally in quotes because I question if the owner has ever stepped foot into this comedy of errors. Bad staff, stale beer and overly priced grease buckets labeled food might explain the reason why we were the only people there.
Lo and behold, it recently shut down to remodel. I write this not to beat a dead horse and dissuade patrons from dining at a closed business, but to encourage the owner to scrap everything and try again. I'm no Robert Irvine but someone needs to Restaurant: Impossible this joint. Great happy hours, local brews and a cook who can... well, cook will do wonders.
Good luck on the remodel. We have faith in ya!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Michelle V.Arvada, CO539Jun 5, 2018
Absolutely dissatisfied! I would give 0 stars but our server was fantastic! The patio was filthy, cigarette butts everywhere, weeds everywhere, even in the pots.... huge weeds! We sat down anyway and I get my food and a hair tickled my throat when I was chewing! It was disgusting! They did the right thing by comping my dinner and my wine. It was just not a good experience overall.

SO we stopped here cause I had been wanting to try for awhile. It says at front, seat yourself, open seating. So we sat at the bar, no one else was there, it was 4pm on a saturday. Their beer list was meh, had some local colorado beers on tap, but most owned by ABINBEV, so not much local anymore. The menu is typical to a bar and grill, so no surprise there, I opted for the BBQ burger, it came out luke warm, appeared to have been a frozen patty, not what is described on the menu. It was horrible, I ate half the sandwich and then ate the fries which were piping hot and good. We also ordered the Artichoke dip as an appetizer, it wasn't bad, pretty tasty.
The place appeared dirty, for as slow as they were on a saturday, i thought the windows would be clean, floor swept, bathroom tidy and clean and none of that was true. Place is dirty and really needs bar rescue to come check it out some time. There was literally only, a cook, a server, and a bartender working there.
We paid our tab and went home where I become very ill, vomiting all the food I just ate and had to lay down and still this morning feel like absolute trash. Not sure if its food poisoning or what, but FYI.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - C. P.Golden, CO701410May 16, 2018
Reasonably priced menu with large portions. Great place to stop after shopping or before a movie. A perfect patio to enjoy a drink with great bartenders.

We are very disappointed with the quality of the food at Summit House. We used like it ,but this last visit the food quality was very poor. Unless they change, I don't think we will come back. As a side note, the service was great

My bf and i just moved to Lakewood from NC and went here. We had apps and beers. Saw the show on bar rescue and decided to check it out. The nachos were awesome and so were the jalapeño poppers (best I've had). Definitely gonna go back. Staff was friendly and fast.

Super confused as to whether we were in a daycare center or a restaurant? Two kids that I think belonged to the bus lady were at the bar coloring then running around distracting the servers, the owner's child of maybe five ? at one point was BEHIND the bar.
The bartender was nice but kept disappearing and it took us (and another couple) a while to get the check. When we did get the bill, we were asked to pay in cash because the system wasn't working properly-- but if we didn't have cash, they'd still take a card. Is the system working or not? That seemed suspicious.
Hubby had a French Dip that had a texture and taste that I'm not sure I could even describe. He felt queasy all evening afterward. I had a salad and it was fine. Tons of regular fries came on hubby's plate but they tasted like sweet potatoes.
House wine wasn't vacuum sealed in my opinion as it had that "a little too old" fermented tinge to it. There were six taps that had no beer tapped into them. Not a big deal, but missed opportunity.
There was a bucket close to the front door of which could be easily tripped over. Leaky ceiling? Cleaning bucket? Who knows there was liquid in it but I'm not certain as to what it was.
There were leaves and empty cigarette packages by the front door patio. We probably should have left upon our first impression, but we live close by and like to support locally owned establishments.
This could be a really cool place but it's cold and unwelcoming. It feels a bit like eating in a hospital cafeteria but the food's not as good and there are employee's kids running around everywhere.
I wish we'd have spent that 40 bucks on charity.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Jeremy W.Albuquerque, NM19Mar 26, 2018
Very nice facility and friendly staff. Although, the food is another story. Ordered a burger, medium rare, it's brought out and it's frozen beef fully cooked, not fresh as stated in the menu and not medium rare. Not much of a draft choice. Fries were good. Fajitas were decent, tortillas were frozen and were all crushed and folded awkward, warm and damp by the way. Ordered the dry rub wings and not much flavoring, tasted like I was eating just plain wings.

The food was decent, and the beers were cold. It's a pretty straight forward ale house type place. Pricing wasn't bad in my opinion either, and the staff seemed friendly. It was oddly slow for a Friday night but no complaints about that from me. I'd go back for sure

Service was pretty good but the food was subpar. I ordered the blue cheese burger and the patty was super thin and at the middle tasted like mush - thinking it was a frozen patty at one time!
