I was referred to him by SF Bar Association referral service. They scheduled an appointment. SF Bar explained to him my case with all details. When I called a
Him at appointed time. He had no idea who I was. Even though SF Bar has explained to him I am a tenant. He started to talk to me as a landlord which I had to correct him. During our conversation which was way less than half an hour that I had paid for. He either said I do not know, or it's up to you. Finally I told him I know it's up to me but I am asking your advice, and he had no advice for me. He told me he charges $450 per hour, but honestly his advice does not worth even $45. Altogether I rate him 1 out of 5.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - T A.CA, CA31Jul 5, 2021
Was referred to this lawyer by the CALBAR, contacted him for initial consultation in June. Spoke for 15 minutes, but apparently he was 'moving offices from one building to another. Said to call him back the following week at a designated time. Provided him with email information on case ahead of time as well before the next week. Called him the following week, his voicemail was not working nor did he response to emails after several attempts to contact us about discussions. Basically 'ghosted' us without any courtesy follow-ups or anything. Or at least let us know he was not able or interested in taking the case, which was basically help on a eviction notice of a very bad tenant. Not professional at all, would not recommend. Complained to CALBAR as well. Not even a text, call or email back.... terrible.

I was referred to Steve through the Bar association for a landlord tenant issue. My issue was a little complicated for what was supposed to be a 30 minute consultation. Steve took an interest in the problem and ended up spending over an hour with me figuring it out. He was more knowledgeable and considerate than any of the other lawyers that I had been referred to through my company's EAP program. I would definitely consult Steve again for these types of issues in the future.

I work for a tenants rights law firm, and as a result of the current housing crisis, we are experiencing a tremendous influx of cases for people that need our assistance. One of our potential clients advised me that he had been given excellent counsel by Steven Miyake, and that they were offered reasonably priced assistance, which they had accepted. It warms my heart to know there are attorneys like Steven out here in the Bay Area that are making themselves available to assist clients in need.

Steven represented me and my partners during a home construction lawsuit. He was very knowledgeable, patient and took the time to work on our case. Never felt rushed or intimidated working with him, we genuinely felt like he cared about our case. He took the time to explain things if we did not understand something. I would recommend him for real estate cases and would definitely use him again (although I am hoping I would never have to go through a similar ordeal again).

I came to Steven through a referral from the Bar Association. I was originally planning on spending a lot of money to see another law firm, but luckily I got the call hearing that Steven would take on my case. My case was extremely complicated and definitely very late in the game. I was involved in it through being a victim of circumstances. But as soon as I presented my stuff to Steven, he investigated my case with such generosity. I finally had feelings of hope after months of despair since I'm of course not a legal expert. I cannot speak enough kind words how much his empathy and willingness to even try and handle things for me saved my life from something potentially horrible. Eventually the case resolved itself but I have a full vote of confidence in Steven in that even if it didn't, Steven definitely would've gotten the job done. I will definitely recommend anybody to see him. He is a great human being that cares and will do what he can to protect you and your rights.

Steven Miyake did a great job for me when he inherited what should have been a straightforward eviction for cause. In the middle of the case, which had dragged on beyond reasonable expectations, my original lawyer had to leave the county to honor previous plans. Steven took over what was, by then, a chaotic case. He got a grip on it right away. He negotiated a settlement that was beneficial to me without unduly harming my tenant, which was my hope. Steven has been in practice for many years and knows most of the legal community which is a benefit in negotiating on behalf of his clients.
