      I hate dealing with this kind of stuff and Steve made it super easy. He compared different rates for me, as I had a lot of new things changing. He explained everything with ease and made my decisions really easy.

      I walked in to Steve's office without an appointment last week to update some insurance policies after moving to Richmond. Steve and his assistant Lindsay were both friendly and professional. The transfer of policies was easy and they both offered that I could call them if I needed recommendations on any services in the city as they knew I had just moved to Richmond. I would recommend them for renter's insurance definitely

      I was paying for State Farm insurance for over a year with this agent. When a incident finally came about where I needed to use my coverage, it comes to my attention that I did not have rental car coverage. I initially requested to include rental car coverage as I understand how important it is if needed. This negligence has put me in a situation to pay out of pocket for a rental car. Now that I am no longer being represented by Steve Dowdy I save over a $100 a month for the coverage that I requested originally. Never have I ever been so ripped off! Please stay far away for your own good they are incapable of taking an application that is in their clients best interest.

      Horrible customer service! I have been a customer for years with Steve Dowdy. Things were working well as long as I did not need actual assistance from his office. I moved. I called into his office to provide my change of address, add a new vehicle, and obtain my adjusted bill. I paid in full and though everything was taken care of insurance wise for the next 6 months. Two months later, I find out that they are still sending mail to my old address. They changed my coverage on the vehicle I just added to full (max) coverage, when I requested basic liability. And the price they quoted me, that I paid in full, did not cover the new vehicle. Not only did they choose the coverage on my vehicle without my permission, but the only notification of this change was sent to my old address, not the new one that was on file. And to top it off, they should have informed me that I should have contacted a new agent in the state where I moved, because my rates would have to be adjusted anyways. Finally, to add more insult to injury, when I called into Steve Dowdy's office to determine how things went so wrong, his staff could not understand why I was upset as if nothing was wrong or out of the norm by changing my coverage and notifying an old address of the change. And Steve himself, was extremely rude on the phone and warned me not to speak out of turn! Last time I checked, I did not need permission to speak in a conversation. You would think that after messing up my account so horribly that Steve Dowdy himself could at least pretend to have some customer service skills or even apologize.
