Stepping Stones Salonspa

I just came home after a facial with Christine at Stepping Stones Salon off of Franklin in Boise.

My skin feels amazing and the experience was wonderful. Christine told me that she's been doing facials for more than 24 years and it shows!

I thought the prices were quite competitive and when I asked for an added-on pumpkin peel, Christine offered another peel - same price - but better benefits with less stinging. I gave her the AOK to proceed. She didn't lie - little or no stinging and my skin looks so fresh!

I absolutely loved Christine's technique, her applications and even her extractions were painless. So comfortable, so relaxing and so amazing!! I took a few of her business cards and will recommend her to my friends.

I went to Stepping Stones to get a perm. Lisa was incredibly friendly and I appreciated that she didn't feel the need to talk my ear off (since I am more content to just sit quietly during hair appointments). The only reason I wasn't completely thrilled with the experience is because when I booked the appointment, it said it would take about an hour and a half. I was expecting that, or maybe a couple of hours since I have long hair and I know perms take time. However, I was there for almost 3 hours, and while my hair looks nice it doesn't really look like the picture of the type of perm I wanted that I had brought in.

The kind of business I like to support! Engaging and fun staff who are passionate about nail design and care. Got good tips from nail tech about treating winter cuticles.. (vitamin e oil) Two weeks later my shellac manicure is shiny and in better condition than lots of other gel manicures I have gotten in the past. Great product selection for hair skin and nails; moroccon oil and dermalogica.

The owner of this spa took money from my 17 year old daughter with out providing any services. We have contacted her numerous times and she refuses to refund the $. Watch out for this place!!

I received a coupon for 50% off a service and tried out the salon hoping that I would end up liking it and making it my new salon spot. The staff was nice enough however the front desk receptionist could receive a little more customer service training. I had an express manicure which was to include a hand soak and massage, neither of which I received. I expected a salon experience and could have received better treatment at a walk in place. Also, I emailed the salon and received a response to a follow up question after my visit. I then replied with my disappointment and received no response at all. I will not return and will let others know not to waste their time.

I usually suffer in silence when I have a bad salon experience, but I have to get this off my chest! I chose Mark as my stylist because of a recommendation from my dental hygienist who had a really nice haircut and color. The first visit was a bit awkward but that's to be expected (so I thought) ! He barely talked unless it was to tell me something he wanted to talk about. Otherwise he could care less about me!!! Never asked a single question (even though I mentioned I had recently moved to Boise). Didn't ask if I had children, worked or any other general polite conversation. He acted like he couldn't be bothered. I showed him several photos of what I wanted but he did what he felt like doing (looked nothing even close to the photos)! He cut the inside of my ear and didn't even tell me it was bleeding (saw that when I came home). Visit was not cheap and I left a very good tip. He just sat behind the girl who took my money and didn't even say thanks! I left and I will never go back! I would rather cut and color my own hair instead of putting up with stylists who act like this guy. One last thing --- the salon was empty and this was a Friday when salons are usually busy. For a empty salon it was in need of a good cleaning - so messy and unorganized. Not very inviting!!!
