Great Badger bar! I'm a UW-Madison alum and love to come here for game days. The food is really great and there is a wide selection of options for drinks.

One of the times I care here, I got the PB&J burger and it was surprisingly incredible. Would highly recommend.

I've also gotten the guacamole, which is a tad expensive for guacamole at a bar, but you do get a massive portion.

There's ample seating for groups and parties and there is also a large bar area for standing.

Can be a bit on the loud side, but it is also a bar.

Food is just okay. Came here to watch the championship game and service was super slow. We came when the place wasn't even that busy yet and it still took awhile to put our food order in and then it took awhile again for our food to come out.

Blue cheese sliders - comes with 3, these were pretty good, they had a lot of flavor from the blue cheese and garlic aioli

Truffle Mac n cheese - ehh, I was disappointed in this, especially since I love truffle, but it didn't have any flavor at all to be honest. I had to mix in some of the boneless wings

State fries - these were good, the feta definitely gave it some flavor

I wish i had a better experience at State. I have been once before and nothing stood out in particular except the frozen rosè drink with a shot of vodka - mmmm. This time though was fairly disappointing.

I just popped in for a drink with a girlfriend before she had to go into work, we only had about 30 minutes. We started to sit at the bar, friendly bartender greeted us. I of course checked in on Yelp and to my pleasure see a check in offer! I ask the bartender to put in the cookie skillet order now because I thought it might take some time. She was very skeptical. My friend requested to move to a booth, this in combination with the free cookie turned her mood quickly.

We moved to the booth the new 2-3 servers or ladies helping us we're kind, not sure if it's normal to have that many different servers at State? It was a Wednesday night and their special was half off bottles of wine. We split a Pinot Noir, Layer Cale. We just had a glass each and thankfully they were able to allow me to take the rest of the bottle home.

The cookie skillet was less than mediocre honestly. I've had my fair share of pizookies and I definitely wouldn't recommend this one unfortunately.

Great place to hang out. We walked in with a group over 20 people. They were very accommodating and pushed 4 tables together so the group could sit.

On a nice summer day they open up the windows, which are really just big garage doors. Very airy. Plenty of big screens to watch your game.

Went here for trivia this week, I saw the prizes could get up to the hundreds of dollars. While the trivia was hard to hear due to the loud music, the bar itself was cool. Lotsa craft beers, including seasonal releases. I got 2 IPAs that I had never had before. For apps we got the chips n guac, and chips n queso, the portions were pretty huge. I got the badger burger, which is curds on a cheeseburger, that was real big and quite good, first time I'd seen curds put on a burger before. Despite the crowds, service was still good. They were also able to split the bill amongst our whole group. It's located just past the Fullerton el stop, or you can do street parking which isnt too bad, either metered on Sheffield, or find a non permit street. There seemed to be other good items on the menu, so I'd be down to return.

Meh - I think this place may have recently closed? I remember going there and spending $40 on 2 drinks and an appetizer..way too pricey for a low key random Tuesday. After that, I never went back... *shrug*

This is a great place to come if you want a beer flight, want to watch the game, or hang with a big group of friends.

They have a wide variety of beer to choose from, but I thought the food was decent. I got the Brie and Apple sandwich which was very mediocre and a sour beer which was great.

If you're into watching the game, then this is definitely the place for you! I don't think I've ever seen so many TVs in my life.

State is a great place to bring a larger group of friends and watch sports. We come here probably once a week to hang out for a few hours on Sunday. The place is huge and can accommodate majority of groups with their large tables and booths.

I got the Korean bbq tacos - which I was nervous that would be "too cute" of an order for a bar food place. And I definitely was wrong. These tacos were absolutely delicious. Definitely will get these again when I go back. They were filling, but not overly full where you feel gross.

We decided to get a side of the buffalo Mac. It was ok! Not the best I've had, but not the worst either. I probably wouldn't get it again, however I'm glad we tried it.

Ordered through Postmates. The Don Juan pasta was delicious. Only issue was that they dumped a bunch of red pepper on top so the first bite was not a happy one. It was delicious after giving it a few stirs. I was only disappointed that they don't give you any Italian bread with your order. Oh AND,

I don't know the people who wrote those, but I wonder if they've ever been properly loved. Like, you couldn't have been hugged as a child and left a review saying the Truffle Mac and cheese was awesome. (I hope no one glances quickly and reads this as: The Truffle Mac and cheese was awesome, it was not). It tasted like......macaroni. Bland, flavorless macaroni, with a piece of cheese and scallions on top. I took a bite and spit it out from the shock to my taste buds. They had never known anything so ghastly.

You know how I survived the experience? Dumped the truffle Mac into the Don Juan container to get some flavor on that Mac. It made it edible.
