Star Roofing

I have used Star Roofing many times (different houses) and they have always been responsive, and helped me fix the problem without creating additional work. At times other roofers would have tried to convince me to get a new roof, Paul was able to fix the problem and 2 years later, no leak. I've recommended Star Roofing to many friends, with no complaints.

Called Paul, recommended by a neighbor, to see if he could make me a new roof hatch as mine was badly deteriorated. He was able to come over the same day and assess the situation and gave me a bid for a new hatch made of metal. He was friendly and knowledgeable and knew what was needed. He also told me he could do it at his shop in less than a week. He came back to install on the morning he said he would and it went very smoothly. I was very grateful to have his help along with his crew to help me and do a good job In a very timely manner.

After providing an estimate my husband and I decided on Star Roofing due to a neighbors recommendation. My husband and our insurance company had a lot of difficulty getting in touch with Paul at Star after that. Unresponsive to emails and texts. After several attempts of contact he finally nailed down a date for us. A week prior to his start day he promised paperwork. The day before he was supposed to start he canceled the job completely. We understand there are lots of ups and downs in roofing, but at the very least communication is needed. Don't waste your time. Lots of roofers who are professional and responsive.

I know it was sheer luck that Paul with Star Roofing was finishing a job across the street from me when I called - or was it? Either way, in less than 15 minutes they were hoisting their extension ladder to my roof and fixed the problem for a very reasonable fee. Oh, and Star installed the building's replacement roof back in 2002 - still strong with only occasional minor repair needed.

Paul with Star Roofing Company was fantastic. Star Roofing Company was recommended to us by a realtor who highly recommended him. We received 3 estimates and Star was among the lowest. Paul completed the roof ahead of schedule, when completed he walked us through the job. The only thing I would say is if you contract them and want to know more details you will need to initiate the communication but he was always responsive. If you don't want more details about the status of project just sit back and let them work, and rest assured they will do a great job!

$2500 dollars spent on repairs that still leak. The owners never responded to my calls to make good.

Paul is great! He is very responsive to phone calls, comes within a reasonable time frame, arrives on time and does great work!

He was courteous, on-time, honest, respectful to me (and my home). By far, the best roofing contractor I've worked with so far.

He was very informative, walked me through what needed to be done, offered additional information on questions I had about extra work/precautions and explained the process of the work he would be doing.

I'm admittedly a little frustrated with Star Roofing as I write this. Paul told me he'd be here between 12-1 to look at my leaky roof and patch it for the third time. I took the morning off work to wait for him because this seemed to be the only day he could make it, and finally at nearly 3:00 he texted to say he can't make it at all. This is the second time I have scheduled an appointment and he failed to show up. (in fairness, twice he was right on time) And of course the bigger problem, my roof is still leaking.

He did guarantee his work so after the leak persisted, he's come back twice to try to resolve the problem without an additional charge. When he did show up, he was knowledgeable and helpful. But a guarantee is useless if you can't get the person there to do the work, and it is so unprofessional to fail to honor an appointment. If there was a 2.5 star option I'd give that.

We had Paul replace our roof 15 years ago, and could not have been happier ever since. He's always been on time (or even early) for appointments. They did a more thorough job on our roof than other companies had proposed for the same or less amount of money. We've had not one problem with the roof except storm damage or us putting a new AC line in. And each time we had a problem we'd call him, he'd tell us which day he'd come look at it (we generally never needed to be home), and then at the end of that day he'd tell us he went ahead and fixed it and there is no charge- even though the problem was obviously not something covered by the warranty! We rarely recommend someone as highly as we recommend Paul and his crew.

I called and set up an appointment three days out for him to come and look at leak in my roof. He said he would be there the following Friday around 1:30. By 3:00 that Friday I had not heard from him so I gave him a call. He tried to tell me that a project went longer than he expected and then just said that he completely forgot about our appointment and asked when I could reschedule. I like to support DC businesses, but sorry, if you forget about our appointment after I take an afternoon off work to wait for you, I'll try another company.
