Excellent staff. Excellent service. Nurses and Doctors in the ER were kind, friendly and professional! Thank you for your service!

I spent ten nights in the hospital for a surgical procedure. The doctors were all top notch, the spiritual care was wonderful, physical therapy outstanding, much of the nursing care was quite good and 50% of the room's cleanliness was good. I'd say the food was hit and miss, other times the room was not cleaned and my bathroom was covered in dirty pans covered in stool and urine. The garbage was all too often overflowing with paper toweling that was of of a used stool and urine variety.
The nurses were often disrespectful and unresponsive. They would many times not reply to a call for more than an hour or longer. Nurses also would behave in a condescending manner and showed little personal care for a patient. When a doctor asked if I was ready to go home a CNA turned away from the doc and made a "fist pump/thumbs up gesture to her friend." This is just one of many examples of the unprofessional mannerisms of the staff. I asked to see the department head and or floor nurse but was told "They are very busy and it was doubtful they could make time to see me as they don't just make time to see just anyone.
Being ill, in pain, scared and cut off from loved ones is bad enough but to be treated so inhumanely really just adds salt to the wound.

As a registered nurse, my standards are high where hospitals and nursing care are concerned. I have been hospitalized twice at this facility, both for surgery.
I have had very good nursing and allied staff care. The physician's I have met and cared for me have been compassionate and friendly. I would recommend this hospital wholeheartedly.
