Spurs On First

Not bad, not great, but always nice to have a new spot to check out in Duluth.

Not too many cocktail options on the menu... but they do have a full bar so order up your normal go to and enjoy some live music. (although the acoustics are HORRIBLE) hard to tell what the singers are singing/ saying... but if you are familiar with the tune ... then you may know what they are playing.

Wait staff very nice and attentive.

Be prepared to pay a cover for the live band. - this makes the beginning of the evening pretty slow at the bar as I saw about 20 or more people leave after they came to the door as no one wanted to pay the cover. So the bar probably didn't get busy till after 11.

Often smells of vomit. Great place to come if you're already plastered. Music is usually good to dance to.

Bartender is rude, blatantly ignoring our group. Bar has 10 others inside and it took almost 40 minutes for a group of 6 to get 1 drink each. Bartender disappeared to the back of the bar for over 15 minutes to "make change" for a 100 dollar bill. Then told me my total was 13$ and gave me 85 back in all 5s and said "I'll keep 15." And didn't give me a choice in that.
Weird music.

Bouncer took my real ID I called the cops. They said they were to busy to deal with it. Do not go here.

We recently purchased Spurs on First June 6, 2018. We look forward to making Spurs a place of excellent quality and service!

rude female bartender blew a whistle in my friends ear before even trying to ask her to move out of her way, then when my friend asked her to say excuse me first, she said "if you want to talk back you can gtfo of my bar" also very weird music playing in a saturday night, acoustic version of WAP

Be cautious!

My friends and I went to Spurs Friday night. We got up to the bouncer and he said there was a $10 cover charge for each person. We pointed out the sign next to him was advertising "no cover" outside of the door, and the sign also indicated a live band. He said the cover was for the band but the sign was supposed to be taken down awhile ago as there was now a cover charge. We asked if we could still get in without the cover since they were advertising no covers at the door, and he said no. We ended up going in, and the band was no longer there or playing.

I'm confused why we spent $40 for a bar playing music over the speaker. The majority of bars in Minneapolis don't even have covers. I'm also confused why Spurs was advertising no covers only to ask for $10 each once we step inside. It didn't seem right.

If you're looking to contract a fungal infection Spurs is the place for you. As soon as I walked in I was overwhelmed by an aroma that closely resembles a soiled hamster cage. Service is awful and a good friend of mine wasn't let in despite being well over 21 and fairly sober, he is however Latino so I'll let you make your own judgments. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Spurs is a fun place to grab a drink and listen to some lively music! They have a full bar and when it's busy they also have a beer tub where you can buy beers away from the actual bar. Service is great! The decor is top notch!

They served my $6 Bells Two Hearted in a Red Solo Cup. If you're going to serve good beer, I expect it in a glass! Last, I bought one round of drinks for friends and I find out the next day that they ran my card twice. Shady. I will never go back!!
