You catch the fish and they clean it for you. Great if you don't know anything like fishing.
I love it here! They have a play ground and swings for my two year old and my 11 year old also enjoyed fishing and catching some rainbow trout. They provide with a pole and bait... practically everything you need to fish and all you have to do is pay for the fish you catch. If you decide not to fish, you can still take your children to look at he trout farm or play at the playground.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 24, 2017
I have lived on the east side for the last 25+ years and I never knew that this place existed. What a fun little hideaway in the middle of our city. We decided to go do something different, so we went to a trout farm! It's a really cool setting with cute little lakes that the fish swim in, a picnic site, and a concession stand. Some say it's like shooting fish in a barrel but it was surprisingly harder than you think!
You don't have to bring anything or you can bring your own fishing pole and tackle box. They sell you fishbait which kind a looks like a big ball of poop but tends to work and the fish like it. They also have poles there ranging in many different sizes that you can use.
It's a really fun little day to spend with your kids or just some friends. Kenny was our host that day, and he was outstanding! He is the reason why I gave this place four stars. His customer service was on point. He always came down to make sure that we had enough bait, helped the kids out if they had any issues, and he would unhook our trout for us and put them in the buckets. He was awesome and made our day super fun!
Once you catch your fish, you bring them up to the desk and actually Kenny cleans them for you. The fish range in prices depending on how long they are. Some of these trout were really big so it was upwards of $25 a fish. Some of the tiny ones 6 inches or less were about five dollars. It's also $25 an hour for the site. You can choose to fish in one of the two pools, the larger one holds the larger trout the smaller one holds all the smaller trout. The smaller pool is more fun for kids as the fish tend to be a little more active. The nice thing about this site as well is once your fish are cleaned, you can actually barbecue them there as well. So you are encouraged to bring beverages and snacks. All in all we had a really great day and I would recommend going!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dan M.Bellevue, WA03211Aug 25, 2019
My daughter loves to fish and we had a few hours open for an excursion. This was our first trip to a trout farm. Frankly, the last time I took her to Lake Washington, her biggest catch was a pair of boxer shorts.
This isn't the same as casting in open water, but the thrill of landing a nice trout for a 9 year old is still the same. She was super stoked at the challenge. The supplied gear is simply a rod with line attached and a hook. Technique plays a part. She lost a lot of the supplied bait before she "caught on." From then on I couldn't stop her. The most satisfying part was watching her bait the hook, set the hook, and using a net to land the fish with the rod held high in the air.
The woman at the counter was super freindly. We actually had a few fish that broke the line. We just simply returned the gear and grabbed another.
A few pointers from one visit:
Be prepared to spend some money and set a goal before you get there. Cost is per inch of fish caught. YOU will catch fish. It will add up. However, the price per pound is comparable to the cost of less fresh fish at the market. Have a few recipes in hand or be prepared to freeze when you get home.
Fish are segregated per size in the 3 ponds. If you want to catch a lot of fish with less cost, go to the small pond. If, like me, you have 7 grills and smokers on the back deck and want that stuffed trout with garden dill, sorrel, brown butter, garlic, and lemon over a cedar plank, head to the large pond..
You may see the fish depending on the sun and may be tempted to head to that location; however, the lunkers typically hang to the cool shade and fast moving waters at the inflow.
Keep the supplied dough bait cool and in the shade. If it becomes to dry to stay on the hook, wet your fingers first and compress tightly around the hook shank leaving the hook tip slightly exposed.
Take a cooler with ice to transport your catch home. If you have your fish cleaned there, they provide a plastic bag, but fresh is fresh right? Don't let them go to waste.
Please leave a good tip for the person cleaning the fish.

We just hosted our daughters 4th birthday this past weekend. We found this place on Yelp and wanted to try it years ago, but it fell on a season when the business was being sold. Fast forward to now, we finally got our chance to do a fun activity for the kids and guests.
We rented the picnic tent, which includes The tent tables fire pit and barbecue grill. The charge is $25 an hour after you set up till the very end, and we chose the party package with a single fish per child $10/each. Our guests had a really good time and complimented on how much fun and different this was compared to other parties. I highly recommend bringing your friends and family here, not only are you supporting small businesses, but you are keeping this local landmark open for future generations to come.
The communication throughout our party planning process was very clear and straight forward. Although I was a little skeptical, because the person that was handling our reservation was a 11 year old and her older brother. But they actually took care of everything very well and were very professional and helping us throughout the entire time. They cleaned our fishes and kept them at their stand until we were ready to pick it up when we were leaving.
If you the guests want to fish outside of the small pond, they charged by the size. You will just have to let your own guests know that. So it's really up to you how you want to handle that.
Other perks of having your party here, is not only the fishing, but also the availability of using the fire pit, and the little playground that kids can play at. They have a port-a-potty, that's kept fairly clean too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Molly T.Seattle, WA934846Oct 17, 2018
Great place to bring your kids. Brought our three year old here and he had so much fun. Lovely gem in the neighborhood. You fish and they clean the fish for free.

What a wonderful little tucked away place!! It is a well-maintained trout farm that is fun for the whole family. There is 3 different ponds for the different size fishes (small, medium and large). They do this because you pay according to fish size; there is a chart there with prices so you can get an idea before you start your adventure. Prices include everything you need for the experience; fishing pole, house-made power bait, bucket, and a net. They even clean your fish for you. If you live further out I would pack a cooler with some ice so you can transport it home or you can call ahead and reserve one of the covered areas with a grill and grill the bad boys up right there. I am horrible with names but I believe her name was Amy, it was her third summer working here and she was absolutely amazing; friendly, helpful and all with a smile. They are lucky to have her.
We took our 2 year old son here for the first time and the excitement on his face when he caught his first fish was, priceless! I would pay to see that over and over again. He got so excited that when his dad caught a big 23", he was so excited just to hold the net:-) We went on a Tuesday afternoon so we had the entire farm to ourselves but I hear it can get busy on the weekends. They do have a pretty decent size parking lot (approximately 20 cars if everyone parks good). There is a little play area with some small toys for the younger feet (toddlers) and a clean honey-bucket. We will definitely be going back before the summer is over.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
