A must-stop in SLC. Anyone familiar with brewing or distilling will appreciate the exquisite care that has been put into every aspect of the distilling process, as well as the experience of visitors. Clean and cozy, modern and classic, Wasatch is the perfect place to take an immersive tour followed by fun and flavorful flights in their tasting room.

What a great experience we had at Spirits of Wasatch Distillery!! Our tour guide, Jacob, was super knowledgeable and took time to explain the entire distilling process for vodka, gin, and bourbon while allowing us to ask questions throughout the tour. We learned a lot of really fun facts about the entire process! The barrel room was very cool and I loved the homage to Sasquatch. We were able to try multiple spirits and really loved the bourbons. Ended up getting a bottle of the coffee liquor and can't wait to see what comes out of this distillery in the next few years!

I had an amazing FREE personal tour of the Spirits of the Wasatch Distillery this last week. The distillery is small, but the owners are fantastic and provided a very educational and interactive tour! I learned a lot about the process of distilling whiskey, gin, and vodka and also learned about the aging process involved with their bourbon!

I would highly recommend this tour and $5 tasting for anyone visiting the Salt Lake area or anyone who wants to get out and learn something new! This would be a great company offsite for local employees or friends that want to try a new experience together! My favorites were the cowgirl coffee liqueur and the barrel aged gin! Thanks for the amazing time, Spirits of the Wasatch!

I have to be blunt - I'm not a gin friend. However, my friend with me thought they were awesome! This is a great place to stop in while you are on a trip. Make an appointment so you can do the tour and take your time sipping their offers.

A friend booked a tour. It was really underwhelming. Not really my cup of tea. Also the spirits were underwhelming.

The Mountain Summit Amburana finish Whiskey is the best I've tasted so I bought a bottle after the tour.

What a great tour we had at this small distillery. Jacob was very good at telling and showing us how they make their bourbon, gin and vodka. Love the tasting and came home with their bourbon, gin and coffee liqueur. Thanks

Came in for a distillery tour yesterday and loved it! Our tour guide Jacob was incredibly knowledgeable and made the tour fun and exciting. JP was friendly and passionate about his craft and the whiskey is some of the best Ive ever. I somehow even enjoyed the potato vodka which I normally can't even smell without gagging. Highly recommend the tour with Jacob and will definitely be coming back when my stash of treats runs out! Thank you all so much, keep doing what you're doing!

Oh my, I can't believe I didn't know about Hammer Spring until just recently! Yes, this place is definitely off the beaten path for normal SLC digs, but it's worth the drive, promise.

I came in tonight for a tour of Hammer Spring Distillery, and as soon as I entered, I found out my group had cancelled on me! Regardless, JP invited me in, and I was able to get a mini back-stage presentation on their current boozy selections. And I'm hooked now.

This is a cute little set up the owners have here: you enter and immediately are in the retail section, tastefully set up. To the left is a small tasting room with a barrel in the center showcasing all of their offerings, and directly through the retail area is the distillery space.

Before my stop in, I had read up on the business and products, but was pleasantly surprised to see a 5th bottle sitting on the barrel that I hadn't anticipated, the new love of my life: a habanero infused vodka. (We will come back to this).

I had a taste of their Hidden Vodka first. This one is a necessity, as some proceeds of it's sale goes back towards the fight of human trafficking. The vodka was smooth, and easily drinkable. The next tried was their Potato Vodka- one I was eager to sample. I've never tried a pure (and local) potato vodka before, and the flavor is awesome. It's definitely different than your traditional vodka, but it was great. It'll bring a different undertone bite to any drink. Their Gin was the one I was least excited to try, being a very non-gin drinker. With just the initial smell, I knew I was about to try something special. The gin was actually enjoyable. JP told me all of the flavors they use to create their gin - and it was impressive, the list was more extensive than I would have thought, including ingredients like dried rosemary (fresh was too bitter), sage and peppercorn!

Now to my personal favorites - the ones I envision sitting top shelf in my kitchen: The Perky Cowgirl Coffee Liqueur, and Habanero infused vodka. Both of these are so special, and unfortunately the Utah DABC hasn't allowed them access into our liquor stores yet. (A good excuse to visit the distillery!)

The Perky Cowgirl uses coffee from Milcreek Coffee Roasters - and I cannot begin to explain how amazing it is. The coffee flavor makes for easy morning drinking, liqueur or not. My first thought was a coffee liqueur pour over on vegan ice cream. This lil number would be great in mixed drinks utilizing coffee, chocolate or vanilla notes. Or just as a quick shot to getcha moving.

The Habanero infused vodka is perfect. I had a small taste of it, as it's not suppose to be used in shot-sized pours. You. Will. Feel. The. Heat. and it's glorious. It is spicy, and would be amazing in Bloody Mary's. I feel that all cocktail creating SLC establishments should be considering having it in-house. There was the suggestion of adding a bit to hot chocolate, but for myself, I feel I would use it in lemonades on a hot summer day, salsa mixes, and in an olive oil when making home-made popcorn. Hot damn.

Overall thoughts: Hammer Spring products taste high-end. They are smooth, smell amazing, and are robust with flavor. I enjoyed everything I tried, and that's uncommon with distilleries. This place needs to be known throughout the Salt Lake valley! Spread the word!!
