Did they edit their hours? I've been on hold trying to order but no answer and cannot place a take out order online.

The website does not exist. I'm guessing they are out of business.

One of the best, if not the best, finds in Ventura. Too good for pictures.
Small place with fast service, the best fish taco on the planet, and decent ceviche.
The best part is the price. You get more than you pay for, which is unusual for this part of Cali.
You will not regret this quick stop, and will want to visit again and again.

It's our go to when RV camping locally. The seafood (tacos, burritos, ahi pockets) are all good. Get the salsa's and sauces.
Eat on-scene as some stuff doesn't travel well. Drink some ice cold beer while you wait (they have a really great draft selection).

I've driven past this place so many times, but I've never tried it before today. The most recent reviews are not the best, even so I still wanted to give it a try because like I mentioned before I've passed by this place so many times before.

I ordered the clam chowder bread bowl. Although it's not the best clam chowder I've ever tried ( best I've tried was in Seattle!! ) it was still good. I did however add a little bit of salt and pepper to it. The bread was delicious! I would go back based on that alone. I'm still a little curious about they fish tacos, but with those prices I don't know if I will try them.

The service was good and fast. I picked in a little inside the restaurant and noticed they have seating available inside, but you need to ask a hostess to seat you there. We decided to seat out side which was fine. I like that they have patio heaters for chilly days like today. One bad thing is that it was difficult to find a parking spot nearby. I'm glad I got to finally try it!

      1 check-in

Good service, & it didn't take long for us to get our food. Everything was decently priced & the tempura fish tacos were fire, they look dry in the picture but I promise you they had the perfect amount of sauce & were perfectly fried without being greasy. Their micheladas are also good; a bit spicy & made with clamato. The ahi pocket was alright 5/10

Super big bummer about taking away the pink lemonade. It was always my favorite non beer beverage served here.

I always stop by this place when I'm in Ventura. Easy to find parking, with indoor/outdoor seating. They are known for their world famous fish tacos, which I love to get tempura-battered. Also, must try their wontons, shrimp tacos, and local beers. My go to is the Topa topa. The staff is always super nice and food orders are super quick!

A couple years ago the whole damn world was in the middle of some sort of health crisis. It was a big deal. They closed all the restaurants. You might have heard about it.

Not being able to go out to eat at a restaurant just about drove me crazy. I started making a list of all the restaurants I was going to hit up when they finally reopened. Some, of course, were spots I had patronized for years, but most were places I had never been to. Like this place.

I had never been here because they specialize in Fish Tacos, and I had no interest in Fish Tacos whatsoever. Zero interest. But during that restaurant shut down thing, I swore if I ever got the chance there were a whole hell of a lot of things I was going to try.

So, I came here to see what the deal was with Fish Tacos. First thing I noticed was the price. Holy hell, these Fish Tacos are expensive! I didn't want to take out a 2nd mortgage on my house so I only ordered one.

And it was way more complicated than I expected. I had to choose how I wanted my fish cooked, battered and deep fried, or grilled. Obviously grilled was the healthier choice, but I had suffered enough during the shut down to have to settle for healthy food. I ordered mine deep fried. Naturally.

When I picked up my order first thing I noticed was the cabbage. I'm like, cabbage? Huh? Isn't this supposed to be lettuce? I mean, I don't even like cabbage that much. And there was so much cabbage I couldn't see the fish.

I go to pick up the taco and, what the hell, they use flour tortillas? Who does that? And they didn't seem to be the best quality flour tortillas either, they looked like the kind you find in the bread section of the grocery store, not in the Mexican food section.

So, right off, I was like, ok, it was a dumb idea to come here. I should have known better.

But it was too late. It was lunch time and I was hungry AF. And I had this weird fish taco in front of me.

      So I tried it.

And, son of a bitch, I liked it. I liked it a lot. I was totally shocked how much.

All the parts I thought were wrong, the flour tortilla, the mound of cabbage, the fish... were all right. I totally understood the flour tortilla. It was the perfect tortilla to hold the taco ingredients. The fish was tender, moist and fresh tasting, and I enjoyed the crunch of the cabbage in every bite. All those "wrong" elements came together to make a pretty tasty taco.

So, right off, I was like, man, it was such a smart idea to come here. I should have tried this place a long time ago.

I've been back a couple times since that first visit. Now fish tacos are OK by me. They'll never be in my Top Ten of taco variations, but they're OK once in a while.

Tonight was one of those onces in a while. I was in the mood for something different so I stopped by here for a Fish Taco. On a whim I decided to try the Clam Chowder and since it was Happy Hour I added on an order of French Fries and a couple Wontons. And a Dr Pepper.

The Fish Taco was good, as was the Dr Pepper. But after that, it was all downhill.

The Clam Chowder was really kind of mediocre. It had very, very few pieces of clam; it was mostly potato. It should be called Potato Chowder. The French Fries were underwhelming, kind of undercooked and limp. The Wontons were meh. I wouldn't order them again.

But never mind the bollocks. I was happy I tried the chowder and the wontons, even though I didn't much care for them.

The Fish Taco was good, and that's the reason I was there. I left out of here happy. To me it was a solid Three Star Fish Taco experience.

Best fish tacos I've ever had. And I have tried thousands of fish tacos lol. I say this because the tempura/beer batter was super crispy but wasn't soggy later on as I've experienced at other places , fish is flakey and soft, super flavorful and fresh.

I recommend getting the calamari taco and the tempered fish taco . All of their sauces are amazing so definitely put some of those on ur taco but the aioli that's already on the tacos is great too.

Free refills on fountain drinks I believe, amazing table service, quick to clean up tables even on busy New Year's Day !
