Wow what a meal and not in a good way....
Came here over the weekend and the first thing we noticed as we were sat is the lack of employees. They definitely were not staffed for a busy weekend dinner.
It took about 15 minutes before we were greeted and by then we knew what we wanted because the menu is very limited. Our server came up and before telling us his name he informed us that they were out of coffee and ice tea and spaghetti.... Italia restaurant out of spaghetti.... ok.
We went with the calamari to start..
Tasty! Perfectly fried to a golden brown with a savory marinara sauce on the side. Breading was seasoned just right! 5/5
Fettuccini Alfredo was ok. The pasta was a paperdelle so it was different. The noodles were all suck together but the sauce was flavorful and creamy. 4/5
Lastly was the cheese pizza, the Chevy Chase. Thin crust that wasn't cooked enough so it felt soggy and sloppy. Plenty of cHeese but the sauce lacked zest and was just ok. it was mostly cheese than sauce and crust. 2/5
Oh and they charge a 20% service fee and tipping is discouraged but you'll be hard pressed to actually see the writing for this and the servers won't inform you of it AND they tax you on the service charge.
I was hoping for more since 33 Taps was so bad but sadly this place no better. I hope they can turn things around.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jordan R.Baton Rouge, LA562338Dec 30, 2022
Stopped in here for a quick drink and so happy we did! April served us up some of the signature cocktails and every single one was delicious! She also gave us some great suggestions of places to visit in the city (since it was our first time.) Awesome service! Aside from that, I tried the buffalo cauliflower wings and really enjoyed them. They were the right amount of buffalo sauce and breading. Will be back next time we visit to get dinner!

Food was good. Service started out great, but then I don't know what happened to our server. Maybe he quit, because I never saw him again.

Went in today for drinks. The bartender was great. However, as I was leaving, the owner (woman behind her laptop) runs up to me and says "I told you that you should leave from the back, my customers will see" SHE ASSUMED I WAS STAFF!! And why should her staff leave from the back ? As she put it, "I'm trying to get customers". Let me remind you I am not staff I was there having a cocktail and this is how I got treated, told to leave through the back next time. Demoralizing, dude, and if you have any type of melanin expect this woman to treat you this way. Above that, that's upsetting she treats her back of the house employees that way in the first place. Completely ruined my night. Won't be coming back.

Soprano is a new arrival on the famed Hollywood Blvd.
The restaurant itself is large. Since opening they have had a few hiccups according to reviews. I wasn't going to be discouraged by negative reviewers though.
To start, the menu is small. If your expecting 30 different entrees you may want to eat elsewhere. The food, and service is well worth the visit even with the limited menu.
To start: Calamari (prepared as expected), Meatballs (fresh, and made to order).
Salads: Caesar Salad (Excellent)
Entrees: Gnocchi (good, portion was small), Rigatoni Bolognese (prepared just right).
Pizzas: The Chevy Chase (Cheese, Mozzarella and Parmesan), The John Wayne (Pepperoni, Calabrian chili, local honey).
Both pizzas here are excellent. The crust was crispy and flavorful. The cheese and meats excellent.
In closing, the hours online here are a bit strange. They may change due to the theater nearby. Call ahead.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Matt C.Los Angeles, CA0401Feb 15, 2020Updated review
I went back and the Gnocchi had been made much cheaper, the Chicken Parmigiana was now on the menu (sans ANY side, no pasta you can get with it, who serves Chicken Parm without a side of pasta?), and the noise problem seemed ameliorated.
Still a terrible value though. Adding a star.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 17, 2019Previous reviewNot good. First off, I walk in and this giant restaurant is empty but I am still seated next to a large speaker that is not playing music but instead making a horrible, constant hissing noise. To make matters worse, the hissing noise is mixed in with loud, thumping music coming from the bar next door.
Next, I'm handed a menu that does not have Chicken Parmesan on it. This is the dish I specifically have come in to get. It was on the website menu. How could the website menu be different from the on site menu when THEY'VE ONLY BEEN OPEN ONE DAY. When did it change?
Whatever, these aren't deal breakers in and off themself. I order the Gnocchi ala Vodka. It comes surprisingly fast. But there was barely any of it. I made an exact count: 18. 18 tiny little Gnocchi. I shit you not. 18. AND I PAID $24 FOR THEM. That's $1.33 per Gnocchi. How can they think that's acceptable!?!?!??!
So I finish my gnocchi and I'm still starving. I figure if an Italian restaurant screws up Spaghetti & Meatballs there's no chance anything else will be good. At least, that's what my Uncle Sammy always says. So I order that. Or, actually I order BUCATINI and an appetizer of meatballs. THEY DON'T EVEN OFFER SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS AS A SINGLE DISH. WHAT!?!?!??!
The food tasted half way decent and the service was great. But by the end I was barely full, had ordered three items, and was charged $73 (19% of which was the MANDATORY gratuity)!!!
Long story short, if you're set on eating at this intersection, stick with APL for a truly world class meal. If you're set on Italian, walk two blocks down to Sunset for a great and much more affordable meal at Fabiolus Cucina.
NEXT RESTAURANT AT THIS LOCATION PLEASE. HELL, 33 TAPS WAS BETTER THAN THIS. - Sierra S.Sierra Madre, CA0127Jan 26, 2020
Exceptional food! I was thoroughly impressed with the service, Interior design, perfect location, and presentation of the food. The meatballs are a perfect mix of beef and pork. They were a generous size and perfectly cooked and I would just ordered this as my dinner but I unfortunately and unwillingly had to share them. The chopped salad was exquisite and I couldn't believe I was eating a salad. My boyfriend ordered the oxtail lasagna and I attempted, with fair effort to eat all of it since I had to share the meatballs.... but the portions were so large more than half of it was left and we get to eat it tomorrow.
I always judge a restaurant on its dessert... amazing tiramisu! The location is ideal for people watching... great place for a nice dinner date and glass of wine before walking the strip... if you don't over eat like me. Will definitely be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lori S.Simi Valley, CA030Jan 23, 2023
Gross. Food bad. Service bad. Very expensive and you leave hungry. Seating arrangements are ridiculous.
