Is delivery via Uber eats or postmates available at all times during business hours in your downtown location? I tried to place an order 11:30am via Uber eats and it was not available. Only the midcity location was accepting orders.

Thanks so much for the question Maribel! If you ever see that we are not available on Uber Eats or Postmates during business hours- it’s because we sometimes pause online ordering. We do this when we get multiple large orders at once or when we get… more

Came based on a Violy M. review, and was not disappointed.
Tortillas, great, service very nice.
Breakfast burrito very good, salsa was not too hot, but enjoyed the experience.
Next time I need to try the cebollitas or tacos topped con guacamole... muahHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Liam C.San Francisco Bay Area, CA01Apr 2, 2024
I ate here on my way into LA last weekend and the food was fire. I got a steak burrito and I def recommend it, the meat was high quality and the guacamole and salsa and cheese were also very good. The horchata was also pretty good. My friend got a steak taco and a chicken taco. She preferred the steak but I tried the chicken and that was good as well. Staff was very very nice and friendly. Overall 9.6/10 I highly recommend for authentic food with good quality.

Quick lunch on a Saturday.
Chimichanga with shredded chicken, two tacos costilla (grilled steak) and a topo Chico mineral water.
Perfect amount of food, decent price and super-friendly service,
Everything tasted great. I appreciate the green onion, fresh radish slices and delicious red and green salsas to add to the already flavorful tacos and chivichanga. The salsas had a balanced flavor with a subtle kick of heat. Perfect.
The quality and presentation is excellent and the steak and shredded chicken are possibly some of the best I've had in LA.

Had never heard of this place until a friend introduced me. And let me tell you, their food is INCREDIBLE and packed with so much flavor.
While everything on their menu is great, their Chivichanga is fire. I have never had anything close to it before - the melted cheese with the tomatoes and chiles... The beef is better over the chicken, but both are still great. Wish I lived closer so I can get it more frequently! Tacos are good as well - all of their meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned, so it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu.
For how delicious the food is, I'm surprised by how decent the prices are. I feel like LA in general tends to have higher prices, but the pricing is super reasonable for the quality of food you receive.
It can get super busy inside, and parking can be tough. I'd order ahead if you can, and just be prepared to walk a bit to get there (but it's worth it!).
Definitely recommend stopping by.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1224181999Mar 31, 2024
This is one of my favorite taco spots in DTLA. They are consistently good. The people at the counter are friendly and the people who hand out your order are too.
My go-to order is usually a chicken, chorizo, and/or grilled steak taco. That's it. They season the meat with great and bold flavor. The salsas are fresh and hot. Sometimes I'll get a canned Modelo or Pacifico to go with the tacos.
At Sonoratown you run into all walks of life and everyone seems friendly and open to chatting. Seating is available inside or tables outside. Parking can be tough but it's DTLA so you can expect that you might not find parking right away but I usually find a spot on the side streets.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 30, 2024
Delicious authentic simple food done right.
Everything on the menu is delicious. Pricing is super fair. And the quality is amazing. The salsas and tortillas are delicious.
The meats are soooooo good. I recommend the burrito with onions.
Great place for a quick bite. Old school feels with great service.
Bottled drinks and tacos are lifeHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 11, 20241 check-in
I haven't tried this restaurant in a while and it still is a banger. The burrito 2.0 i tried here was fire! Meats are perfectly cooked to medium ish. The flavors are craaazy good. Loved the flour tortilla. The salsas were also tasty.
The decor is nice, like a modern Mexican cafe. Parking is tough during buzzy times. Service could be better.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 10, 20241 check-in
#10 of 52 (trying a new restaurant at least once a week)
Traveling for work this week and since we have very few good Mexican restaurants where I live I was on the hunt for good Mexican. I didn't want to go far from my hotel and this was in walking distance and had good Yelp reviews so I ventured out.
It is a small but cute restaurant right on 8th street. There were a few tables outside and inside was a bar table the length of the wall you can sit at. I wanted everything on the menu and knew it would be my one opportunity so I ordered more than I needed. I ordered the Taco Costilla (grilled steak), Poblano Chile and pinto bean taco, bean and cheese and the shredded chicken chivichanga.
I only waited about 10 minute so not long. During my wait there was a constant flow of customers so I knew it was a good choice. I got my food and headed back to my hotel.
The food came with two sauces, a red and a green. I unwrapped the food and my mouth immediately started watering. I dug into the taco's first. They come on a flour tortilla with red salsa, avacado and cabbage. First of all the flour tortilla's were very tasty and I enjoyed the chewy texture. The steak in the taco was very flavorful. Plenty of seasoning and all the toppings only added to the deliciousness. The poblano taco was up next and there was a WHOLE entire poblano on the taco with the pinto beans. I love a poblano so I was looking forward to this and it did not disappoint. The pepper and the beans just melted together.
Next up was the bean and cheese which was like a small burrito with pinto beans, monterey jack cheese and salsa. I love pinto beans which is why I wanted to try this. The cheese was very melty and again the beans were perfectly cooked.
Lastly was the chicken chivichanga which has a mixture of monterey jack, cheddar, tomato and anaheim chiles. While this was good it was my least favorite item I ordered. I just think it was lacking in flavor.
Finally I can't not talk about the salsa's. I poured that ish on everything! The green was good but the red was phenomenal! So fresh and full of chopped veggies. It had my nose running but it didn't slow me down.
I wanted so badly to eat here again before I left but just didn't have time. If I lived there I'd eat here multiple times a week!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 20, 2024
Authentic northern Mexican food, made with love by two veterans of the service industry. "Sonoratown" was the name of a small community of Mexican immigrants who settled in the area we now know as Chinatown, after the Gold Rush in 1850. The restaurant makes their own fresh flour tortillas, and offers a concise menu of beloved classics, done really well.
All of their menu items can be ordered with your choice of meat, or poblano and pinto beans. I opted for the meatless version of their Burrito 2.0, and really enjoyed the flavors of the roasted pepper. The fresh tortilla and salsas were outstanding, but the burrito overall did not blow me away. It was smaller than I expected it to be at $12, and very one note texturally.
I like Sonoratown, but do not fully understand the hype. I thought maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but my husband got costilla tacos and was similarly underwhelmed. Things that did impress me were the cute space, delicious tortillas (we bought extras to take home), and friendly service. Their Horchata is also one of the best I've ever had; they make theirs with coconut milk.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Feb 17, 20241 check-in
No parking but bomb tacos. The caramelo is a big taco with beans, cabbage, cheese, salsas and your choice of protein. All for the charred green onions on the side!
It gets crowded - even on off hours - but it really is so good. Also, they sometimes sell their tortillas in a bag to go. Today, a bag of 12 was $8Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joel J.Los Angeles, CA02635Apr 4, 20241 check-in
Wow...BEST BURRITO in TOWN! The flour tortilla is excellent, my personal favorite with exceptional taste. Friendly cashier and efficient service. Kitchen staff is right in front with a terrific flow. Set up of restaurant is colorful, artistic, and full of beautiful culture. Thumbs up, will return. Happy National Burrito Day! Love it.
