Update: The business made a comment to my review and also messaged me the same message asking me to reach out by email so they could try to make it right. I did and they never responded. Looks like they just want to give the appearance of addressing customers concerns without actually addressing them.
Ordered the Chocolate covered strawberry shake and it not only looks nothing like advertised but it tastes disgusting with some weird syrup flavor and doesn't even have the chocolate whip which is what made me want it in the first place. I am angry! I just got out of surgery and came here for the shake to help with the throat discomfort from being intubated, I can't even drink this disgusting shake. literally threw money in the garbage with this purchase. The food and shakes are good but for a fast food restaurant they are not fast. I came from a coffee shop so decided to walk over and ordered. I pushed their button, but the walk-up button did not work. Then, I decided to walk back to my car to go to the car port. Pressed the button and waited 10 minutes, and no one answered to take my order. I finally decided to go through the drive-through and was finally able to place my order.
They were out of one of their specials, so I couldn't get my full order. Once the food was received, I was told there was no cheese sauce for my pretzel twist, and when I got home and looked at my order, I was missing an order of tots.
I recommend looking at your order before leaving. The service was good but took way too long to order. I hope the restaurant will consider hiring more people or giving more hours so the service time will decrease in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Had an awful experience in January 2024. Sonic rep asked me to email a specific email address to give more information regarding my experience and for a gift card. 3 months later and still no response. Attempted to give it another shot and this time, no one answered the drive in call and no one was available at drive thru window with the sun still out.

My partner and I had just gotten coffee at Archer on Main St and decided to pick up a QUICK lunch before driving out. Conveniently enough (we thought), there is a Sonic right next to the coffee shop and they have the option to order at a walk up speaker. We pressed the button and stood there for 10 minutes without anyone answering. We fetched the car instead and parked in one of the parking slots to sit and order. Again, we pressed the button and the screen said that someone would be with us shortly. We proceeded to wait another 10 minutes and no one answered. We then moved to the empty drive thru for one last attempt. What we couldn't understand was that we could not see a line or barely any parked cars ordering, so it didn't appear busy whatsoever. We pulled up to the drive thru, where there was a car ahead of us. The car moved out of the line and we pulled up and waited a minute and finally someone asked us for our order. The car that had just left came back around to ask us through our windows if someone was assisting us. She was shocked because she had been waiting and no one had answered her. Here's the plot twist, we are STILL in the car at the drive thru as I type this out. Someone took our order and we have paid, but it's been well over another 10 minutes post-paying. I anticipate another 20 minutes at least. If they come out sooner, I will update...but I'm not holding my breath. What should've been a quick FAST FOOD order has now taken us almost an hour of our day. I will not be returning here. You

I placed my online order on my personal Door Dash App Account for dinner time meal for Thursday, August 24, 2023. This Door Dash order was delivered to me by Enrique at 7:47 p.m. at my home and he handed me my online order.
I ordered one Crispy Chicken Sandwich Combo Meal. The price was $16.19. This combination meal included one medium size tater tots and I chose one large size Sprite Soft Drink. I was also able to choose the kinds of dipping sauces I want to dip my tots into. So I selected 2 BBQ Dipping Sauces and 2 Ketchup Packets. These condiments were no charge to me.
I also wanted to order one of their SONIC Ice cream Blasts. It was my first time ordering their ice cream treats. I ordered one medium size vanilla blast that included the Oreo Cookie pieces. I added their sliced strawberries for an added charge of 98 cents. The price was $9.51.
My Subtotal was $25.70. The delivery fee is usually $4.99 but I spent a minimum order of over $12.00 so since I am a current Dash Pass Member I saved this $4.99 and I received FREE Delivery from Door Dash. That's an awesome deal!
The service fee was $3.86 but it was reduced to $1.29. The estimated tax was $2.12. The dasher tip kept reverting over to $7.50 but I said no that tip isn't affordable for me so I pushed this tip amount down to $5.50. It was like this button has a mind of his own. It's my decision ti make on my affordability not this Door Dash website. I reduced the dasher tip amount down to $5.50. These tips are getting really expensive for me to pay and it does increase my bill. My total bill was $34.61. My Door Dash order arrived on time and I was able to track my online order on my Door Dash App and see a map and the exact pick up time Enrique us picking up my order from the Sonic Drive-In and also when he is heading to my house in delivering my online order to my house. This is a great feature for me to always be able to monitor all of my Door Dash orders to make sure my my orders will arrive on time and to my house.
When Enrique handed me my Door Dash order at my front door at 7:47 p.m. he gave me one medium size brown bag and one drink carrier with the one large size Sprite Soft Drink and one medium size SONIC Blast. I took my order inside my house and locked my front door.
I unpacked my food items in this brown bag and I noticed that these 4 sauces which was the 2 BBQ Dipping Sauces and the 2 Ketchup Packets that I ordered on the Sonic Drive-In was Missing from my order and there was also No Napkins inside thus brown bag. I realized their employee who packed up my order tonight is not s detailed oriented person. That person should have double checked my order before giving my order to Enrique this Dasher delivery driver. There was also No Napkins inside thus brown delivery bag. I have always received a lot of napkins from other restaurants I have ordered from. Again , there is no attention to details from this Sonic Drive-In.
My job as a Yelp Elite 2023 Status Reviewer is very difficult for me sometimes because, I have to be very honest in writing my reviews but I also at the same time, I don't enjoy giving a business a lower rating on Yelp. Also I am writing my reviews on a non-paid basis. Everything is harder. I had to be very honest and I had to drop down my rating to a 3 star review which is an okay rating.
After I unpacked my food items, I placed this Crispy Chicken Sandwich and these Tater Tots on separate plates and I re-heated each of these these plates into my microwave oven for a few minutes. I also placed this Sprite Soft Drink on my dining room table. I placed this SONIC BLAST Vanilla Ice cream drink into the freezer while I was getting ready
to eat my dinner meal.
This Crispy Chicken Sandwich is breaded and deep fried in a cooker and includes 2 dill pickle slices and the condiment is mayonnaise spread inside the top brioche bun.
I looked inside this Crispy Chicken Sandwich bun and I noticed the Chicken Patty is overcooked and was a darker brown color. When I took bites of this Crispy Chicken Sandwich this chicken meat patty was hard texture and the meat tasted dry from being sitting in their fryer too long.
But I still ate this chicken breast sandwich because I paid for it and I was hungry. My rating is a (2) it could have been better. The Tater Tots were crispy and these tots were delicious. My Rating is (5) - Excellent.
There was 5 Missing things from my online Door Dash Order. Missing 2 BBQ Sauce Dipping Sauces, 2 missing Ketchup Packets and there wasn't any napkins with my order. My rating is (1) Poor Rating.
I am being very generous giving my review 3 Stars. Okay.
There are no excuses for forgetting to not give a customer they're required sauces and not putting napkins inside a customer's delivery bag. These things are even though a minor issue it's important to me as they're customer because it tells me this restaurant their employees does not care about me. I am an Elite 2023 Status Reviewer for Yelp for 5 years now. I observe every thing about a restaurant that I have done business with everyday.
When a restaurant gives me their condiments that restaurant should be more generous with me. If this restaurant is stingy with their condiments to me I believe this restaurant is cutting their costs in other ways also. This is my assessment on this Sonic Drive In Restaurant. I am not being mean , I am being very honest . I tell the truth the way I see things about every business.
This Sonic Drive In Restaurant should have given me more than one BBQ Sauce at least give me 2. And the Ranch Sauce I only received one Ranch Sauce. Give me 2 at the minimum for my Door Dash online order.
I just read a lot of their customers reviews on this Sonic Drive In Restaurant. I was right with my opinion on this restaurant. This restaurant does not care about their customers. I see their are a lot of unhappy customers who have given poor one and two star reviews on their bad experiences with this restaurant.
My opinion is Sonic Drive In Restaurant should be more generous with their condiments to me their customer. It's a small thing but it does matter to me their customer.
Unlike Jack in the Box Restaurant who is always very generous and has given me more than enough condiments that I needed. That's the reason , I have checked in 16 times and I am a very loyal customer to this Jack in the Box Restaurant location at the 4211 Oceanside Boulevard location. I only spend my money on quality food and also on restaurants who give me their affordable prices and their excellent customer service.
I believe that all restaurants needs to look at the way their treat their customers because that customer is going to make a final decision if that person is going to continue to do business with their restaurant or not and order from a restaurant who really cares about their customers.Apr 16, 2023Previous reviewI was in the mood to eat a Cheeseburger for my lunch meal today. I placed my online order on the Door Dash App this morning. I saw the Sonic Drive-In Advertisement that said if I spend more than $12.00 I will receive Free Delivery Service since I have a Door Dash Pass Membership.
My orders are as follows: One Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger. These ingredients included: (2 pieces of the ground beef patties, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, crispy bacon strips, extra pickles, and diced onions) on a brioche toasted bun. The price is $6.18. I also needed condiments so I ordered 2 Heinz Mustard Packets, (9) Heinz Ketchup Packets, (2) BBQ Dipping Sauces, (2) Ranch Dressing Dipping Sauces and 5 Napkins. I also ordered the large size regular French Fries. The price is $4.62.
The next order was the one FRITOS Chili Cheese Jr. Wrap. The price is $1.82.
I also ordered One Corndog. I love corndogs. They are one of my favorites when I was growing up and went to carnivals. I would often buy corndogs as a snack. The price is $2.43. My last order was the Strawberry and Cherry Limeades and Lemonades. I had chosen to have real sliced Strawberries and real whole Cherries added to his Lemonade Beverage with extra ice and in a medium size cup. The price is 6.70. My subtotal is $21.75. The Delivery Fee was $3.99 but I was not charge a delivery fee due to I m a Dash Pass Member, my delivery fee was waived. The Service Fee is $1.08.
The Estimated Tax is $1.79. The Dasher Tip I had chosen for Noemi was $5.50. My total bill was $30.12. This total cost was charged to my visa credit card account this afternoon. Noemi my Dasher Driver arrived on time at 11:23 a. m. to my house and she handed me my 2 bags and the one Sonic Drive-In Strawberry & Cherry Drink.
I had to reheat the Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger and the large size French Fries. The Quarter Pound Double Cheeseburger was really flavorful and very delicious. I enjoyed eating this Cheeseburger. I also enjoyed dipping these Large size French Fries into the one BBQ Sauce and one Ranch Dressing Sauce. The real Strawberries and the real Cherries in the Sonic Drive-In Lemonade was really refreshing and delicious. I like the fast this Lemonade has real fruit in this beverage. It is a very healthy drink.
This FRITOS Chili Cheese Jr. Wrap is wrapped up in a warm flour tortilla it includes Fritos Corn Chips, Chili, and melted cheddar cheese. This FRITOS Chili Cheese Jr. Wrap was my (first time) giving this food item a chance. This FRITOS Chili Cheese Jr.Wrap was really delicious. I wished I could have ordered this FRITOS Chili Cheese Jr. Wrap in the large size because it was so good that I wanted to eat more of it.
I ate the Corn Dog yesterday for my dinner meal. The corn dog really tasty.
I dipped this corn dog into the honey mustard sauce. It made this corn dog stand out more. Every food item I had eaten from Sonic Drive-In was really flavorful and very delicious. Their Strawberry & Cherry Lemonade with real strawberries and real cherries tasted really delicious! Door Dash did a great job in giving me excellent customer service. Their Double Cheeseburgers was very flavorful and really delicious with fresh ingredients. I will definately order from the Door Dash App again. I am a Door Dash Pass Member and I have received some awesome deals from my online Restaurant Orders. It's a huge savings every month and I am very grateful for this program. Kamille my Dasher driver arrived much earlier than I expected her to deliver my food order to my front door.
It had only taken this Sonic Drive-In Restaurant a very short time period to prepare my online Door Dash Delivery Order. Kamille arrived within 30 minutes from this Sonic Drive-In Restaurant is located at 101 Main Street in Vista, CA to my home in Oceanside, CA. Sonic Drive-In Restaurant is very efficient on their online Door Dash Orders. I am very grateful for Sonic Drive-In's fast service.
My order was one Crispy Chicken Sandwich it includes: (shredded lettuce, 3 sliced tomatoes, pickles, and mayonnaise) on a toasted brioche bun. These sides that I ordered was one order of Tater Tots, these tots were very crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside with every bite, I had taken until all these Tots were gone. Oops! I need to order more Tots because they were gone in a few minutes. For my beverage I wanted to try Sonic Drive-In's Flavored Slushes which this restaurant is famous for.
I ordered a large size CHERRY SLUSH with these Add Ons. These flavors I ordered was 67 cents for each add on. These flavors are: one flavor has Real Strawberries in them, these are the flavored syrups: Strawberry Syrup, Lemon Syrup, and Blue Raspberry Syrup. These Add Ons really made this Cherry Slush stand out and all these different varieties of flavors made this CHERRY SLUSH VERY DELCIOUS AND REALLY REFRESHING!
The price for all these for all these items is $19.00. These food items included in this $19.00 price are the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, one order of the Tater Tots, and one large size Cherry Slush.
I also ordered one of their Corn Dogs with 4 mustard packets. I love Corn Dogs. it's one of my favorite snacks. This Corn dog this corn batter was very crispy on the outside and the hot dog was beef. This Corn Dog was very flavorful. The price is $2.31.
The next side I ordered was one large Soft Pretzel Twist it comes with one container of Cheese Sauce. This Soft Pretzel was very soft and warm when I received it and this Cheese Sauce was so flavorful. This Cheese Sauce paired really well with this Soft Pretzel Twist. This Pretzel Twist was lightly seasoned with salt. This Soft Pretzel Twist Price is $2.43.
Everything I had ate tonight for my dinner meal was so perfect. I loved the taste on every food item that I ordered on the Door Dash.com website and received from this Sonic Drive-In Restaurant. My subtotal was $23.74.
The Delivery Fee should have been $3.99 but I was there was NO CHARGE for my Delivery Fee today since I am a Dash Pass Member with this Door Dash.com Delivery Company. The Service Fee should have been $3.56 but I was only charged the price $1.19. I also received a Discounted price of $3.56 because I have spent a minimum order of $15.00. Kamille's Dasher Tip I had chosen for her was $6.50 this is due to I didn't mind paying more money for her tip because this Sonic Drive-In Restaurant is a long commute from my house in Oceanside, CA. My subtotal went over and my total bill was $29.53.
This total bill on $29.53 was charged to my NFCU Visa Credit Card Account today.
I was very satisfied with everything I had eaten tonight from my first order at this Sonic Drive-In Restaurant. This Cherry Slush is so good with many different flavors inside this large size cup. I am in love with their Slushes.
I will for certain place my online order again with this Sonic Drive-In Restaurant from the Door Dash.com website Delivery Service. I received Excellent Customer Service from my Door Dasher Kamille. As usual, a decision to go here ends up being a mistake. If you do decide to go here, check your order before you leave! They never fail to give us wrong items or not give us items we actually ordered and paid for. How hard can it be? It wasn't crowded, we placed a mobile oder, literally had to wait 30 minutes for it, and it was still messed up. Because I didn't take my own advice, I didn't check until I got home and had to drive back! So ridiculous!

Friday night, 4 cars ahead of us, didn't matter, fast and accurate! Everything prepared as ordered including changes to items, fantastic! Pleasantly surprised and will definitely be including them in our list of possibles again. Hello cherry limeades! They only lose a star for forgetting the ranch dressing.

Approximately 20 minutes in the drive thru and I was the only car in it. Confused guy at the register, don't know how long he's been there. Too much money and time for sub par food, if you can call it food. Tear this place down and put in something good, preferably nothing with a drive through.

This review is a reminder to myself that the food is not worth it! I'm discouraged with the $10 I spent here for the French fries and onion rings. The French fries were not fresh and very telling that it sat there for a while. They were not crisp and not even hot. Compared to the onion rings, I could tell the difference. The onion rings had no flavor, and the onion pulls right out of the batter.
The other $5 were spent on two large drinks, which was the main reason for stopping here. I ordered unsweetened iced tea, add real strabwrry fruit. It's what I wanted, but keep in mind the strawberry will get stuck in the straw, which makes it hard to sip. My boyfriend ordered the real lemonade, add blackberry flavor. It was too sweet to our liking, but got better once the ice diluted the drink.
The workers are young, and I appreciated that the one girl serving food apologized for us waiting quite some time to get us our food (why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1). Was that the reason why our fries were cold? Should we have expected fresh fries if we waited so long for our drinks and snacks? I'll never know because I'd rather spend my money elsewhere..

I didn't get food at this time. The reason for the review is that the wait for the food took sooooo long. We went through the drive thru thinking it would be faster. It wasn't. It took at least 10 minutes to get the food, which is the longest I ever had to wait for fast food or a drive thru.
