Picked this restaurant based on the reviews. Walked in without a reservation and were seated within minutes. The dining room is intimate and softly illuminated. Our server, Ava, greeted us warmly and offered cocktails and recommendations for starters.
Everything on the menu sounded great so we had a difficult time choosing. Went with the Fiocchi off the specials menu. Pillowy pasta purses filled with cheeses and pear; served in a sherry cream sauce with prosciutto and peas. This was a phenomenal beginning to the culinary journey. Ava also recommended the Vitello della Rosa and the Farfalle. One bite into each dish and we were in love! Mid-service we met Patty, Ava's grandmother, who has a knack for making you feel right at home! After entrees we were absolutely stuffed but could not say no to the dessert special that Patty had made; a fresh lemon mascarpone with mango gel to share and a single espresso each.
We left with such fond affection for not only the meal but also the family that we could not stop talking about the experience! Day dreaming of the mascarpone dessert, We returned the following night hoping to get another piece. Even though they had already locked the doors for the night they graciously opened the doors, welcomed us with open arms and were prepared to seat us for a full meal!!! We got our dessert to go but spent extra time chatting with the family and also got to meet Frankie, his wife and youngest daughter.
We will be returning to Myrtle Beach specifically to visit Sole and enjoy more of the delicious and freshly prepared items on their menu.
Ava, Patty, Frankie and family.. thank you all for the hard work, the amazing food that you craft so beautifully, the gracious hospitality and for making us feel like family!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 6, 20245 check-ins
Great food, loved the fiocchi, gnocchi, and chicken Marsala. Been here a few times.
Just a heads up, they do add a 3.99% charge (not sure of any credit card merchant that charges that much for processing credit cards but....) for paying with a credit card so keep that in mind when calculating your tip as the bill can be a bit misleading and you might end up tipping not on the food portion, but also on the added surcharge as well.
Food was great and would return just would bring cash next time as 4% is too much for the charge fee and I don't remember that the last time we were here. Nice people!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ashley G.Lexington, SC92292Jan 11, 2024
Absolutely the best Italian food around! I have been here multiple times and every dish is delightful. Ava is a superb waitress and very prompt. I would recommend this place above all other Italian restaurants in the area.
The marscapone cheesecake is a must try! Oh and the owner makes his own limoncello that is smooth and tasty!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle M.Middletown, KY814Apr 2, 2024
This restaurant is AMAZING and I don't give reviews often or call restaurants amazing ever. This is no Olive Garden. If you love REAL Italian food, all homemade, all made from scratch with care, this restaurant is for you. It is family-owned and run. I had Osso Bucco with the best risotto I've ever had, and I've tried many as I love risotto. My daughter had lamb shank with the most delicious sauce. My son and niece had fettucini Alfredo which they both said was the best they've ever had. We had appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts and all were absolutely perfect and were served by the most friendly, funny, entertaining proprietress. Truly, this place deserves waaay more than 5 stars. So, so, so good.

The food here is stupendous, like truly very tasty. Phenomenal. But the negative reviews that complain about the wait time are dead right. It's fine if you're not in any rush and I'll say it again the food is fantastic, but it definitely took 20 min to get served, 20 min to get a bread basket followed by 20 min to get a mixed salad that came with a single cherry tomato and slice of cucumber. The main courses took forever to come out. Really good bread though. If you don't flag them down for the check you'd definitely be looking at another 15-20 minutes until you got another chance so just to be aware of.
Loved the linguini vongole and the lasagna was really good too. One of the best tiramisu I've ever had. The cannoli was pretty good. My husband liked it more than I did. Drinkable wines.
This place feels like a locals only kind of spot like, a hidden treasure. It's got a nice cozy feel. Would give 4 stars for the slow ass service but whatever. Also the owner seems very introverted. I saw some reviews say he was rude but I don't think that was his intention at all. He's just a quiet guy who runs a very busy restaurant.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ray V.Cooksville, MD9273Dec 8, 2023
We arrived at 5pm and were immediately seated by our waitress. The dinning is small, but roomy enough to enjoy your guests. We started with the Fiocchi (small plate) as our appetizer, because of the outstanding reviews and it was absolutely fantastic. A must have for all foodie's. Homemade puff's of pasta filled with mascarpone cheese, ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese, and chopped pear then topped in a light cream Michael Angelo sauce with fresh pea's and prosciutto. Five star dish.
We had veal saltimbocca and the egg plant parmesan for are main course. Both dishes were served on time, very hot, and large portions. The veal was thin and tender and the egg plant was thin, covered in tasty marinara sauce. We wish there was room for desert; however, we will be back.
A must stop for Italian cuisine.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jeff W.Conway, SC0254Feb 6, 2024
Made phone reservations for 5 pm on December 22. We had been to the restaurant several times before with family and friends and raved about the quality of food and service. Not so much this night. Showed up for our early Holiday meal and the place was locked up tight and dark but for the kitchen. We actually saw someone in the kitchen, knocked, and they never even acknowledged us.
We took our business to Villa Romano. We won't be going back to Sole any time soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 22, 2022
I had very high expectations of this restaurant from the reviews. It was very easy to make reservations last minute and we were seated right away when we arrived.
We were greeted by the owners daughter and told the specials. We placed an order for the fiocchi since everyone recommended it and it was very tasty! They had a special for lobster ravioli and the sauce was top notch. We were told that we would get salads so we got the Caesar salad and wow, every piece of lettuce had cheese and dressing on it.
The problem came to the bill, we shared one plate so we were charged for spitting the plate which we never told them to spilt the plate nor did they ask us and then we were charged for an extra salad and again they never came to ask us if we would like an extra salad. I don't mind paying but I like to be informed before hand. When we were greeted by the daughter she said she was helping out and didn't know much, so I would have appreciated if she asked us how we wanted everything! Other than this, food was great and would recommend!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Stutch B.Downingtown, PA061Mar 12, 2024
